Now, onto the items!
Mirabella Beauty Blush Colour Duo, Radiant - Value $34
You really have multiple options with this little blush duo. You can use each of the colors on their own for different looks, or you can use them together as a sculpting and highlighting blush. I typically don’t use two different blushes for everyday, but it is nice to have the option. The formulas are smooth and matte and the palette is small enough to throw in your makeup bag. This seems like a bit high in value for a blush duo though.
Doucce Luscious Lip Stain, 618 - Value $28
Well, this shade of lip stain intimidated me at first because it is so dark and warm-toned! It is, but it isn’t as dramatic as I expected. The set comes with a matte lip stain and a clear gloss so you have the option of finishes. The stain is very thin and takes two layers to get an opaque color, but looks nice and velvety when it dries down. The gloss then can be layered on top. Although it looks good initially, I feel like the staying power is compromised and the color starts looking a little patchy. The gloss does help keep my lips hydrated though.
Manna Kadar Cosmetics Flutter Mascara - Value $29
This mascara is described as having an “intense curling effect” and I think it really does give my lashes a lot of lift. The brush is made from really soft plastic bristles that don’t feel scratchy when applying mascara closed to the lashline. I also feel like it helps coat every lash to give me lots of fullness. I don’t notice any flaking and my lashes look fresh and full all day. The value of this is a little high for what I would normally pay for mascara, but it is a good formula with a brush that I really like so I would probably purchase again.
Bodyography Ready Set Go Mini, 3 oz. - Value $3.33 (buy a 6 oz. bottle for $20)
This spray is supposed to be good for setting makeup, controlling oil and shine, and refreshing makeup throughout the day. I’m always looking for a product that can refresh my skin when I get that midday dry feeling so I was excited to try. Like most setting sprays, this didn’t really complement my skin. It felt nice at first but my skin felt coated and dry after a couple of minutes. This might be really helpful for those concerned with oiliness and shine, but it just is not suited for my dry skin.
Chella Eyebrow Cream, Luscious Light Brown - Value $26
I’m usually an eyebrow pencil kinda girl, but I like this cream formula! This shade is a bit too warm for my brows but Chella has a cooler taupe shade I might try. The applicator is a double-ended tube with an angled brush on one end and a pot of cream on the other. I’m able to apply the cream with fine brushstrokes and then blend to get a natural looking, filled brow. It also stays in place well without any fading or smearing.
Items swatched from top to bottom: eyebrow cream, blush duo, lip stain & gloss.
Here is a look with all of the items from this month’s box. The mascara gave me full, curled lashes and the eyebrow cream gave me defined brows. You can see a little of the patchiness I talked about in the lip stain. I used the brighter shade of blush across my whole cheekbone.
Verdict: While this month’s Lola Beauty Box wasn’t a complete hit for me, I still found a few good products. I really like the eyebrow cream and the mascara! The value of this box is $120.33 with free shipping which exceeds their promise of at least a $70 value. The products have all been high-value lately and I like that I have found some of my favorites from this box.
