Upcycled Cosmetic Bag, Ghana - Listed Value $25

This brightly colored cosmetic bag is made from traditional African Kitenge fabric by Trashy Bags, who employ 40 local people in Ghana to collect, clean, and transform plastic trash that is harmful to the environment into various products. You'll see those plastic bags as a lining to this cosmetics bag.

So colorful, you'll never accidentally leave this in an AirBnB while traveling!

The bag measures 10″ x 7″ x 4", closes with a zipper, and has a loop on one end to easily carry.

There is another smaller loop at the other end to hang for storage or to carry.

Here is the lining that has been collected from the streets of Ghana and turned into eqasy-clean up lining. Notice the pockets!

More pockets are on the other side so you can store jewelry, smaller beauty items, etc.

Here are the scrunchie and mirror from this month's collection to show some scale.

Rosewood Compact Mirror, India - Listed Value $15

The next beauty item hails from India and the allows communities with limited economic opportunities shine with their artisanal abilities.

Made from Indian Rosewood, this compact mirror is just so classy that I don't think I'd dare let it bang around my purse with other items.

It swivels open to reveal the mirror and the magnet which ensures it stays closed when not in use.

The back is just as beautiful, even without carving.

This hand-carved design is inspired by motifs of Muslim dynasties, so it'd make a lovely gift for that friend of yours who has a high opinion of themselves.

Hand-Dyed Scrunchie, Kenya - Listed Value $15

The colors used to hand dye this scrunchie are so gorgeous! The teal green and blue hues are super calming and easy on the eyes. I myself don't have enough thick long hair to use this, but I will be passing it on to a friend with a nice mane.

Heshima Kenya is a non-profit organization that offers women in Kenya a place of safety, belonging, and independence while crafting hand-dyed goods like this scrunchie.

GlobeIn Palm Leaf Basket, Mexico - Listed Value $12

Yay! Last month, I thought the tissue cover was a basket, so I was secretly hoping I'd get one soon. This beautiful handcrafted palm leaf basket stands 5.5" tall and is 7" in diameter.

I really love the fact that it has a lid as well, so no matter what you have in here, you can keep it neatly hidden. The tag tells the story of maker Don Juan who crafts these baskets in Oaxaca, Mexico with his entire family to earn a living.

So much room in here to pack full of miscellaneous beauty items that you can keep in the bathroom or on a vanity. It holds its shape, yet is flexible.

If you have something tall like a guest hand towel popping out, you can just slip the lid underneath to save space.

Verdict: The beauty GlobeIn Artisan Box this month was filled with beautiful handmade items that I would never have found otherwise. They also support a slew of important non-profits that help people who would otherwise struggle economically or feel unsafe. This box has a monthly cost of $40 (plus $10 shipping if this isn't your first delivery) and the retail value added up to $67 for the four items I received. The basket is the winner for me this month, but that compact mirror really took my breath away.

I’m sorry but if I spent $50 on this I’d be pissed. A $15 scrunchie???! I wore those in the 90s as a kid, haven’t seen one since. And they sure didn’t cost $15. The upcycled makeup bag while very cool, $25 is a lot. The mirror is very pretty and cool; but three items for $50, I’d be upset.

I just ordered a subscription and my first month was 40 dollars, then they thanked me and said the next month is going to be 50. That is what I hate about these subscriptions, you order for what you think is a fair price then as soon as you do they jack the price up. Now I am emailing them, calling my bank, etc. to cancel, the whole thing is just so much trouble. Won’t be doing it again anytime soon.
