Papergang is a monthly stationery subscription box from quirky UK design team, Ohh Deer. Each month they partner with a different artist and have a theme to bring you paper goods and desk accessories.

They always have really stellar packaging designed specially each month, and the back has a paper cut out craft designed by Daniel Randle.

This month it's a bear! How cute!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: Papergang

The Cost: $14.07 USD (10.95 GBP) + shipping. Discounts available for 3, 6, or 12-month prepaid subscriptions.

The Products: Each month you'll receive a box full of papery goodness. The product selection will vary, however, it will include the likes of greeting cards, notebooks, desk accessories, and art prints.

Ships to: Worldwide (shipping costs vary)

Good to know: Papergang partners with Tree Aid to make sure that for every four boxes they sell, one tree gets planted in the African Drylands, which helps with vital food and income.

The info card is on smooth matte card stock and outlines all of the treasures you received this month with their values.

Large Pencil Case - Listed Value $17.15 USD

EEEEEEEEK! I adore a good pencil pouch and this one is HUGE measuring at about 10" long, about 2" wide, and 3" high. I really like the PVC coated cotton that it's made from which would protect the rest of your bag contents in the event of a pen explosion, and also make for easy clean up of smudges along the way. The design features teal brush strokes against a white background with a black zipper and light grey lining. This pouch could easily be used as a makeup bag because of its size, or even a small toiletry case.

Washi Tape - Listed Value $3.31 USD

I am really enjoying this washi tape design and appreciate how it compliments the marbled designs, but is slightly different. This tape is perfect for hanging up last month's riso printed August calendar, or sealing this month's greeting card.

"A Tree Can Make Approximately 300,000 Pencils" Pencil - Listed Value $0.66 USD

Wow- I feel like 300,000 pencils is a ton, but also how much space does that take up? I guess there are a whole lot less being made these days with computers taking over, so at least the trees are getting a bit of a break. I love the teal color of this pencil against the black eraser and gold metal and lettering.

"Hooray!" Card - Listed Value $3.31 USD

The same beautiful pink and blue marbled motif of the box this month splashes on to this celebratory greeting card. Also designed by Ohh Deer themselves, you can use this rose gold foiled note to congratulate a dear friend on their latest accomplishment. I love that there are rose gold flecks among the pink marble as well. Subtle!

Riso Printed Calendar - No listed value

The Riso Printed Calendar this month has the same pattern as the pencil case but is printed in a bold blue.

Verdict: Papergang really knocked me out with this awesome pencil case! It's exactly the kind of thing I'd want to receive from a subscription box like this. The washi tape, greeting card, and pencil were all so beautifully designed as well. After converting to USD, the items totaled over $24 which is still above the total cost of the box which is $20.53. I think their style is right up my alley and I will continue to be excited as each new box arrives. Especially because...August Spoiler Alert! I'm so excited that they announced August's illustrator: Gemma Correll! I love Gemma's drawings and I'm sure many of you recognize her cute style of drawing.

Do you subscribe to Papergang? What do you think?

Marne, I love your reviews and how your “voice” comes through in your writing!

Papergang is one of my all-time favorite subs. The products and curation are always tops. I was also wowed by the pouch and would add one more item to your list of features – it unzips to open really wide so it’s easy to see everything inside. And yep, I am using it now as makeup bag in my purse.

I’m super stoked to see August’s box given that the curator is one of my all time favorites! Fingers crossed that there will be pugs!!
