Crest 3D White Foaming Clean Toothpaste, 4.1 oz - Value $3.00 (Buy a pack of 12 for $35.99 on Amazon)
I literally just ran out of toothpaste, so it's fortuitous that this new tube arrived in this box! The foaming aspect is a little weird—I didn't find it to be overwhelming, but it does feel slightly foamier than regular formulas—but I loved how fresh and clean this toothpaste left my mouth feeling.
Meridian Point Originals Collection 3 Piece Mason Jar Tea Light Set - Value $14.89
These little mason jars are just a little over three inches tall, so they're sort of miniaturized. I really like the tiny cutout stars in their lids. The electric tea lights that come inside each jar can be removed, in case you want to use them alone or with other votive holders throughout your home. The lights turn on with a simple flick of a switch, and flicker inside their frosted glass holders. It's not the most realistic flicker ever, but when all three of the candles are going together, it does look awfully magical. Candles can be tricky around kids or pets sometimes, so these would be a fun alternative for creating a similarly magical vibe.
Two White Seat Cushions from Hit Promotional Products - Value $4.00 ($2.00 each)?
I could only find these stadium cushions on wholesale websites for a range of prices (based on how many you order), so I noted the approximate value above. If you're the type to go to a lot of little league games, or who can't stand the seats at their local baseball stadium, then these travel cushions will be right up your alley. These white pillows feel like they're made with some kind of shiny polyester cover and a foamy interior. It's got a good bit of firm squish to it, plus the cover has a handle and a pocket in case you need somewhere to stow your program or ticket stubs. I don't have much occasion to use pads like these, but I know some sports-loving friends who would love 'em.
GrillPro 12 x 12 Inch Non-Stick Wire Wok - Value $21.93
This looks like a really cool, unique grill tool. The only problem is... I don't have a grill! I'll have to bring this along the next time friends or family are cooking out, though. As a vegetarian, I'm often asked to bring a veggie dish to share. With this "wok", I could help cook some veggies in a more unique way than just laying 'em over the slats of the grill. Have you used a grill wok before? What do you like making with it?
24 Hour Fitness Yoga Mat and Sling - Value $32.49
I've been doing yoga for a few years now, and I've learned to be quite picky about my mats. I tend to prefer stickier, thinner mats made with heavier rubber to squishier mats with a foamy consistency. In other words, this mat, which is rather plush and smoother (and thus, slipperier) than I tend to prefer, isn't quite right for my practice. But for low-key workouts in my apartment? I could totally see using it as a layer between me and the floor if I'm doing crunches or other exercises on the ground. And it'd probably be pretty useful for slower, or more paced-out practices. For me, I need something that really clings to my hands and feet as I move through one sweaty vinyasa after another. I will, however, probably steal the sling before I gift this to a friend—I love elasticized mat straps like this one. They're so easy to loop over the ends of my mat and go!
Verdict: This Monthly Mystery Box by Jamminbutter was great! For $24.99 (plus free U.S. shipping), I estimated that I got about $76.00-worth of products. I'm always surprised by how useful these very random items are. These products also seemed somewhat tuned into the end-of-summer season—"candles" for a night on the porch, a tool for the grill, cushions for stadium adventures... I think it'll be easy to find owners for the things I don't need, too. Overall, this box was a surprising win!
