The GQ Grooming Box including 9 products that revolved around Men's daily essential products.

Like most subscription boxes, it includes an information booklet.

It includes a letter from a GQ assistant editor setting the tone for the box and values and information about each item in the box. Please note - the values listed here are for the full-size version of the product.

Foreo LUNA Play - Value $39
Let's start with the most controversial item of the box - the Foreo LUNA Play. Originally, the site listed this item as a Foreo Mini 2 which is rechargeable and a higher value - $139. This was an error and was later updated to the proper model - but you can check out comments about this on the original post.

The Foreo LUNA Play model is exactly where I started my love for this face brush. We had 2 - one last about a week and the other lasted for 2-3 months - so I'm not sure how long this one will be around for. It did lead me to get a full-size Foreo, though, and it's a purchase that I don't regret!
The good - these things work really well and scrubs your face softly, but effectively. The bad - once this dies, you'll have to get rid of it - no recharging for this "sample" model.

Foreo Cleanser For Men - Value $4.54 based on $29.95 full-size pricing
To go with you new Foreo Play, you'll get a sample size version of the Foreo cleanser.

Any facial cleanser works with a Foreo Luna, but this cleanser is specifically designed to work better with your Luna Play by including formulas that are activated by the sonic vibrations from your Play. It definitely has a masculine scent as well, bordering on cologne scent.

Harry's Winston Razor - Value $20
Enough Foreo talk - let's move on to the 3 products from Harry's. First - a Winston model razor.

The Winston features a polished metal handle with some extra grip for better control. If there's ever a time where I want maximum control, it's when I'm dragging a razor on my neck!

It comes with one blade - which leads me to the next item...

Free Four Pack of Blades - Value $8
You'll get a card with a unique code on the back for 4 free blades. There isn't shipping to pay - these are free - but you will have to enter credit card enough to get through check out.

Harry's Shave Cream - Value $4.71 based on $8 full-size
You'll need some shaving cream to get started with your new razor - so they've got you covered with an almost full-size bottle of shaving cream.

Harry's shaving cream features natural oils and extracts and doesn't include parabens.

Anthony Brands Exfoliating & Cleansing Bar - Value $2.43 based on $17 full-size bar
This soap is just awesome!

It's got little jojoba spheres that make it like a built-in loofa when you're scrubbing - plus, I love the scent - it's perfect for a morning kickstart.

Byrd Matte Pomade - Value $11 based on $22 3 oz full-size price
You'll get a hair pomade from Byrd.

This has a subtle fresh scent and keeps your hair nice and firm throughout the day. Plus, it's water based which makes it easy to wash out.

Kiehl's Age Defender Eye Repair - Value $6 based on $30 full-size price
Kiehl's makes some great skincare products - so I'm always happy to get something new from them.

It's an anti-aging cream meant to target around your eyes to prevent wrinkles.

Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel - Value $11 based on $88 full-size pricing
Finally, you'll receive two treatments of this skin renewal skin peel.

You'll simply massage with into your problem areas 2-3 times a week - so I'm not sure that you can really get a good sense of how it's working after only 2 uses.
Verdict: My values add up to $106.68 which is close to the advertised $117 (maybe my math is off somewhere?) - that's definitely good value for a $40 box. The mistake they made with the Foreo is definitely unfortunate, and hopefully, they are resolving these case by case - if it weren't for that, I think purchasers would have been happy overall. I'd love to see a quarterly, or even monthly, offering from GQ - maybe this is the first step!
