FabFitFun sends out a mini mag in each box. This time, it’s more of a newspaper style! It details the items included and also provides background on some of the featured makers and designers.

Every quarter, FabFitFun partners with a different charity, and for this box, the charity is Joyful Heart.

Now, time for the items!

Michael Stars Ruana – Value $54

This Ruana is a multi-use product that can work as a scarf, sarong, or wrap! It measures 41″ x 72″and it is 100% Viscose.

The fabric is super soft, lightweight, and a touch sheer – it’s a perfect warm weather material.

Here it is on as a wrap:

If you are an annual subscriber, you were able to select your Ruana print. If you’re a quarterly subscriber, you’ll be surprised by which print you receive. Here are the two other fabrics you may receive:

The Ruana takes up very little space, so it is great for summer travel packing!

Here is this one worn as a scarf:

And here is the blue print:

Here, I styled it as a sarong (ignore the over-jeans part!):

You know how some multi-use products can be complicated to use and get the look exactly right? This Ruana isn’t like that at all – I didn’t even need to look in a mirror for any of these looks.

Kris Nations Mystic Bar Necklace – Value $58

First, I love this glass bottle packaging! So cute!

This necklace has an adjustable length 16-18 inches:

The gemstone bar measures about 0.75″

This necklace is gold-filled, and it’s one of three options you may receive. Here are the other two colors:

This peach gemstone version:

And this sterling silver chain version:

Again, if you are an annual subscriber, you were able to select your necklace. If you’re a quarterly subscriber, you’ll be surprised by which necklace you receive.

On to the last color choice option!

BKR Bottle in Rosie – Value $35

(Subscribers will receive this bottle in this Rosie Pink shade or the Romeo Blue Shade.)

I have a few of these BKR bottles, and I love them! They are dishwasher safe, and the silicone is BPA and phthalate free, too.

These bright colors are so fun for summer, too!

And if you are an annual subscriber, you were able to select your bottle color. If you’re a quarterly subscriber, you’ll be surprised by which color you receive.

Here is the other color:

Juice Beauty Smoothing Eye Concentrate – Value $29

If you’ve read my reviews before, you might already know that I love the Juice Beauty brand! Their formulas are super ingredient conscious (organic + natural ingredients only), and most of the product have this subtle green apple scent!

This eye concentrate serum is one of my favorite Juice Beauty products I’ve sampled yet! It’s so gentle and creamy! The formula is very hydrating and it absorbed quickly into my skin, too.

Avene Eau Thermale Ultra-Light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion – Value $24

Wow! Even though I saw that this product is described as “fast absorbing” with a “matte finish,” I couldn’t believe how quickly this formula transitioned into a matte finish as I rubbed it in!

The formula is fragrance, paraben, and oil free, too! It has a completely sheer finish, and it works great under makeup!

Cargo HD Picture Perfect Highlighter in Bronze – Value $30

The first thing I noticed when trying this highlighter out is just how silky the formula feels! The pigment concentration is excellent, and the shimmer is super fine – no worries about getting a glitter look!

It is super blendable, too. Here it is swatched:

Next up, all subscribers got the option to pick a mystery fitness item or a beauty item. Here is the fitness item:

Way of Will Post Training Massage Oil – Value $29.50

This brand is new to me, but as soon as I saw 100% natural ingredients, I had a feeling I would be a fan!

It’s meant to be used as a post-workout massage oil. The scent is a blend of Peppermint Essential Oil, German Chamomile Essential Oil, and Lemongrass Essential Oil.

I love the idea of using this as a post-workout treat. It smells so good! I’ll probably use it after showers, too.

And here is the alternative mystery beauty product. (You’ll receive one or the other):

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk – Value $20

This dry shampoo is formulated without parabens or sulfates, and it is great for both absorbing oil and also adding texture and volume.

I used to only use dry shampoo on days when my hair was looking a little greasy. But now I use it every day for extra volume and texture. (And thanks to subscription boxes, I have plenty of dry shampoo to support this daily habit!)

And we have one more choice item! All subscribers were able to pick between a traveler, artist or chef item!

Here is the chef item:

Salted Himalayan Pink Salt Kit – Value $26

How beautiful is this set? It’s one of those items I’ll gladly display on my kitchen counter.

You use the grater to produce salt flakes that are great for finishing a dish. Giada De Laurentiis even included 3 recipes to try this with in the info booklet:

  • Pan Roasted Asparagus with Crispy Fried Egg
  • Bruschetta
  • S’Mores Popcorn

Here is the traveler mystery item (again, you’ll only receive one of these in your box):

Understated Leather Travel Set – Value $28

This set includes a luggage tag and passport holder in vegan leather.

Both pieces are well made, and the on-trend rose gold is gorgeous.

And here is the artist mystery item:

Amy Tangerine Art Kit – Value $22

This set includes a canvas (8X10 inches), stencil, acrylic paints, paint brush, and foam stamper:

I think this is such a fun DIY item to include, but if you are a serious artist, you might be disappointed in the quality of the paints/brushes.

(Amy Tangerine also includes tips for beginners on using this kit. And an idea for throwing an art party!)

Vital Proteins Marine Collagen Sample – Value $2.50

(This collagen sample is an extra in the box that doesn’t count toward the total value of the box for subscribers.)

I’ve been taking collagen powder daily for months now, and I’ve got some of my extended family hooked on it, too! (I’ve personally noticed an improvement in my skin and nails. My husband Eric noticed and improvement in his joints, and nail growth, too.)

Eric uses collagen in his coffee. (This will absorb in either hot or cold liquid.) Most people say they can’t taste the collagen when added to liquid, but I can! So I blend this into a smoothie that masks the flavor.

Verdict: Depending on the variations you receive, this box has a value of $272 to $287.50 (And that’s not counting any value for the FabFitFun TV channel access, or the bonus collagen.) As always, I find myself saying, “I don’t know how they do it!”

I’m so impressed with the high-end beauty brands FabFitFun is including lately. The Avene sunscreen, Cargo Highlighter, and Juice Beauty eye serum are all great quality items that are perfect for summer. And both the massage oil and dry shampoo options are fab, too.

I love all the Ruana prints, and the item is super versatile. (And delicate gold jewelry is always a win for me!) Oh! And the BKR bottle is great for summer, too! If you are going on a summer vacation, I hope you get this box before you leave!

What do you think of the Summer 2017 FabFitFun box? How do you feel about the mystery choice options this season?

  1. Good news my box has shipped. It should arrive 6/15 and I’m an annual subscriber.

    • How can that be? I am an annual subscriber and was told my box will not ship until June 23. I was on chat with customer service.

      • Mine has not shipped either and I am also annual. I saw that a few other people have gotten their boxes already so I’m pretty irritated. I was hoping to take some of this stuff with me on vacation but at this point it’s not going to get here before I leave. I love fabfitfun but there should not be such a large discrepancy between annual subscribers.

        • I totally agree with you. There should not be such a discrepancy in shipping for select members. I am also very irritated.

          • Yes! I am super annoyed that my box gets to me after I’m gone on vacation. A summer box needs to arrive earlier.

        • I’ve consistently gotten mine well after many others since I signed up for annual. Mine will arrive the day we leave for our vacation.(we leave in the morning & my deliveries come in the afternoon)
It bothers me more so when I read reviews/responses from others who are not annual subscribers and they have theirs well before I do.

          • It probably takes them longer to put together annual subscribers boxes since you get to pick out which colors you want? I’m just guessing. I am not annual and my box will be here around the 23rd.

Being upset or annoyed because you are going on vacation before you get your box is NOT FFFs fault, lol. Strange thing to say ladies.

    • Mine shipped too.

I’m excited about my box and the add ons. I do wonder how people would have felt if they got everything vs having to pay for the choices. I didnt bite on the paying 20 more (10 each choice) $ and I’m glad, but I can see why some would be grrr.

      • Yea I paid an extra $20 and I wish I didn’t.

      • I wish I would have done $20 in add on’s rather than the choice items. But you live and you learn.

      • I already went overboard in add ons and was hoping the “choice” items would be cooler than a mystery bundle but huge disappointment. I love the idea of choice and I’ll probably fall for it again but the dollar artist kit was a slap in the face. At that point even the coloring book looks better than dollar store kid’s paint and a single brush.
It’s funny how anyone that actually falls into the categories described would hate it and yet someone that isn’t a traveler finds the passport book cute or someone that wants throw away “art” supplies would find this passable for a DIY activity. Chef is the only thing that came close because salt always comes in handy.

        • I’m new at this so I’m a bit lost about the chef, fitness, beauty, artist….options. Do I get 1 of those?

    • Hi,

I’m having problems with the website and can’t scroll down to see the process of my order because an “Upgrade to Select” box pops up and blocks my view. Customer service tried, but couldn’t help me with this issue.

So my question is, how do you know that your box shipped? Were you notified by e-mail?

      • Yeah I got an email

  2. They really do consistently have amazing boxes in my opinion, love FFF! Can’t wait to get this one in my hands.

    • This box looks terrific. I can’t wait to get it! I use the Dr. Brandt Microdermibrasion exfoliant that I got in the Spring Box all of the time.

  3. I’m excited for all of my add-ons at least… I needed a new water bottle and sunblock. The rest? Like how many highlighters do I need? And dry shampoo, no thanks. As an art teacher, that art set is pretty sad. Most of this is going to be gifted or swapped. :/ Oh well.

  4. I am curious if FFF looks at the forum’s suggestions prior to crafting their boxes? They don’t appear to, but I suppose the items are chosen for each box far in advance.

This is my 3rd box, I received the Editor’s box which was a huge disappointment and the spring box which was just ok for me. Unfortunately this summer box is looking to be along the same lines for me as the Editor’s box. I was under the impression that this box was more geared towards fitness…..that’s why I signed up in the 1st place. Considering neither the Editor’s box or the spring box had any fitness items I had high hopes for this one (I now know better). I chose the fitness item for this upcoming box, and it’s massage oil? Also did anyone notice that the water bottle is only 16 ounces? I hate to sound negative but it’s summer!

I am looking forward to the add-ons, I’ll definitely use the Sol de Janeiro foot cream, I already have one that I bought from Sephora so what a great way to get another for cheaper. But the add-ons aren’t enough to entice me to become an annual subscriber. I think I am going to pass from here on out.

  5. Much better than Spring (imo)! Super excited about almost everything. That dry shampoo is soo good and works a lot better for my hair than the living proof they were offering for add-ons. Only thing I could do without is the highlight and the travel set I added.

  6. I wish I would have selected the chef choice, my husband would have loved it. Bummed

  7. As the saying goes, 3-strikes and you’re out. I am looking more forward to my add ons than the box contents. They will all be going up in my Poshmark site. Hopefully I can recoup some money back. Then I am cancelling my subscription. I liked the Fall, but “meh” on Winter and Spring. This is less than “meh” for me.

  8. If anyone is interested in selling the Chef item I am interested.

    • Thanks everyone, someone offered me the Salt. So excited!

    • How would you go about paying for it… PayPal?Check?

      • i would be interested in buying one as well!!! paypal/venmo – oh my goodness yes

  9. What a rip off!! I got the chef, artist and traveller (never again). A waste of $20!! The chef item is at least useful and creative, the other two are just junk and I’d be embarrassed to even give them away as a gift. They’re going to the goodwill. Fool me once, FFF. They won’t get my money again for surprise items. If I really want the item I’ll search for it online and buy it.

    • I agree – I cannot believe they included a kindergarten “stencil set” as the artist part, if they had just given us better clues (they did not have to reveal the brand), we all could have chosen items better for our use… I also chose beauty and do not use dry shampoo! I have thick, course hair – if anyone wants to exchange the chef (salt) for the Klorance, let me know – thanks!

  10. I am so excited to get my box!! I love the full sized high-end beauty items plus the ruana, necklace and bottle will be well used this summer. I just don’t know how they keep doing it!

  11. This is a really nice box and I’m really happy with it…I just wish I had picked the fitness item instead of the beauty item. No. More. Dry. Shampoo. But happy with everything else!

  12. Kind of disappointed in my quarterly boxes 😕, fabfitfun and BeautyCon. There’s nothing in the box that I’m excited about or plan to use besides the Juice beauty eye concentrate and the water bottle. I was super excited by the DIY item choice, but that was the biggest let down. Totally could get at Michaels waaaaay cheaper. Is it too late to cancel? I’m just not going to order anymore boxes until I see a review of the whole box 😩😩😩

  13. I was able to select colors and items this month now that I am an annual subscriber… YAY! My only wish is that I opted to pick up the kitchen item as an extra, I did select the travel option and I am happy about it. Seriously love everything that is on the way and can’t wait to receive it! Awesome Box 🙂

  14. As minimalist traveler who only brings either a carry-on or backpack, I have no use for a luggage tag. Or a passport holder that reads “On the Road Again” since I already have a leather passport holder.

The choice items look like things picked by someone who has no idea what a person with those hobbies want. I would have rather seen:

Travel: Collapsible water bottle, light and quick-dry towel
    Cooking: Herb garden kit
Art: Pens with different point sizes, a blank sketch book

    • Totally agree with you on your suggestions. Any real traveler would already have a much better quality luggage tag and passport holder. Ugh! It’s such a novice item.
Even a cute TSA compliant liquid container would have been fun. For your lotions and potions 😜

    • Yes exactly!
Although in my case ,a passport case and cool luggage tag(and not an “understated” one!) was one of the first things I got to travel w/!
I thought they were going to do something those that travel likely WOULDN’T have not for someone who hasn’t started yet….
To add to your list, I would add portable blanket or jacket as I have the other two(but they would have been FAR less of a let down! )
The Kitchen thing is the only thing I really liked, I would be happy with that…except I didn’t 🙁
Also, anyone that likes DIY would actually DIY rather than use that art kit! At least give a GOOD kit….seems odd that they would do that!

  15. I am so happy I picked fitness and chef. From the hints I guessed beauty would be dry shampoo or black eyeliner, something I have tons of already so that was an easy no for me. Tho I thought fitness might be a deodorant so I was wrong but am happy with it (even tho calling a massage oil a fitness item is a stretch imo.)

I just knew the travel would be a passport holder (or maybe a travel journal) which I don’t need. And the artist hint sounded like it would be paint, which I am horrible at. Chef was a total mystery but I thought maybe some utensil which I am partly right on. The pink salt is cool, not excited about it but way better then the other choices.

In all I am super excited about the box as a whole. I have been wanting this subscription for a year now and I could finally fit it into my budget this season so I am happy with everything for my first box.

  16. Ugh @ $10 Boosts! Wow just wow

    • I know!! I boosted all I could. Booo!

  17. Not my favorite box but summer boxes usually aren’t. I’m getting ready to go on vacation to St. Thomas so the wrap and the travel kit won’t go unused. I’m not a fan of dry shampoo but I see great reviews for this brand so I’ll give it a try. I’ll gift the eye cream and possibly the bronzer.

  18. I wonder what made them go this route when the mystery add ons were so cheap. Based on prior box values they could have easily done both oil and dry shampoo in the box and not suffered instead of making it less of a deal than most of their add on and warehouse sales to the subscribers.

    • Yes, I am a bit bummed that it seems like less value/pieces than before.
I would have been happy w/ having both and ditching one I didn’t want LOL
Although, last quarter it was perfect so if they do it more like then I would be happy.
More specific “hints” or even a brand so we can actually choose based on what we want best – can’t do that if we don’t know what type of thing it is ….
I actually sent them a message about this as I would have been happy w/ the opposite choices I made but not w/ the hints they had….
Saying something smells great is a terrible thing to me, unless you say it’s natural, due to allergies so I stayed far far away from it.

Anyways, they definitely need to rethink how they do the choice stuff!!!

  19. I still dislike when they do mystery choice options. I get why they do it. More people are likely to pick a “travel item” than a passport holder or a “beauty item” over dry shampoo. If I had known what the items were, I would have gladly picked the massage oil. I have so much dry shampoo already I will never use. I do like the chef item. I’m so glad I didn’t splurge for the other two. I also bought sunscreen as an add-on and there is one in the box. Maybe don’t offer add-ons that are so similar to box items? Besides the ruana, I think I am mostly excited about my add-ons. Everything else in the box is okay, and I will find a use for them, but nothing I would really go out of my way to get (or get more of, in some cases, since I already have a bunch from other boxes).

  20. I must be one of the few who loves this box. I am so impressed with the variety and value of products. Yes, I have a ton of highlighters already but this is in a shade I don’t have and will stop me from impulsively buying one (for full retail price!). Dry shampoo is a bit boring but so useful and I will never complain about getting another dry shampoo, especially if it works well like the Klorane ones. I usually buy Baptiste because it’s much cheaper so I’m happy to get an expensive one from this one. The travel item is cute and the color means I’ll find it easily in my bag when traveling. Everything else is nice and I will find a use for it. Even if I don’t, I can sell it on ebay. Fabfitfun just gives amazing value with every single box!

    • I agree. This is by far my favorite box! I love everything, even the stuff I didn’t get to pick! Yes!

  21. Ugh I REALLY wish I had not picked the Travel item. I knew I should’ve picked the kitchen one! The travel one is horrible. A luggage tag? Really?

    • My feelings exactly! BORING

  22. WOW!!! I don’t know how FFF could have done any better. This is a GREAT box with such a great value! I personally added ALL of the options (used some bday money) and while the craft set rv is a bit inflated (I am an artist and elementary teacher who buys this stuff a lot!) it will most definitely get used. I loved the spoilers so much that I added on a second box to my add-ons and I am so excited to have extras to use as gifts (or other variations to keep for myself…). There are some items I never would have chosen for myself but I am excited to have the opportunity to try them. I know there are some who are overloaded with some of the items in the box, but to me, that just means that A) maybe you are like me and need to perhaps cut down on your sub addiction to decrease your stock 😉 B) what a great gifting/donating opportunity or C) you have some cool stuff to add to your swap list if you are on the swap site! Just bringing a bit of optimism here as I really feel like FFF did a wonderful job with curating this box and some of the comments on here seem unfair. Just my opinion though so take it as you will.

Also, Liz, your reviews are absolutely the best! I am not someone who is good with fashion or beauty or things of that nature, but I always feel like I learn about the items included and sometimes get a little how-to from you and I so appreciate it. Such a big help for a tomboy who grew up with 5 brothers! I love sub boxes as a little “gift to myself” and my husband loves that I am learning how to “prettify” myself, though he definitely doesn’t think I need it. He will admit though that he does enjoy it… 😉

    • I love that your husband appreciates you efforts:)
Whenever my hubby complains about my level,of maintenance, I tell him I will quit beautifying myself and he will not be happy…he’s says I dont need it either but I know they actually do appreciate a little feminine flare:)

      • He is really great and doesn’t want me to look anything other than myself, but I DEFINITELY get a positive reaction out of him if I paint my nails, straighten my hair, put on some smelly-good stuff, etc. I know that he values me for me but when I make an effort, I know it is something he enjoys. He actually doesn’t mind me doing the sub box thing because he has gotten to experience my “efforts” a little more often than before. However, my attempts with a “contouring” kit and a few other such products didn’t turn out so well and he laughed harder than I recall him laughing in my life. A memorable experience for all involved. I have learned that contouring is not an Annie thing… 😉

    • I agree with you! The comments seem a bit harsh. I think the FFF team deserves praise for including such great items each time. Honestly, I would be a bit stressed if I had their job since they never please everyone. I remember for one of their boxes, soo many people complained that there were 3-4 beauty items in the box and that it was excessive to include so many beauty products in one box. Yet the box right before it had the same number of beauty items and everyone was raving about how much they loved everything! They just can’t seem to win!

      • I understand being disappointed by items that may not be exciting for you, but I don’t understand the negativity. Yes, we are paying our hard earned money, but you go into the process knowing that there is a chance you won’t be happy with the outcome. If you want a guarantee than don’t do a sub box, just buy what you want from the store. I thought the new choice system and such that FFF did this time is innovative and fun (not to mention a good business model) and I appreciate the opportunity to participate. I just hope the FFF people get to feel the “love” a bit more often because I for one am greatly enjoying my FFF experience and hope it continues. As a teacher, I have also learned that when you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one and it does nothing but wear you down. I hope they (FFF) continue being awesome and are encouraged to be innovative and creative as they curate the next boxes of awesome! Again, just my opinion… 🙂

  23. Does anyone know if I can use the $10.00 off coupon if I have previously cancelled?

    • You cannot. I last subbed 2 years ago and chatted with them last quarter and they said NO.

    • You would have to create a new account to use the coupon.

  24. I just LOVE the box itself! I find this size is perfect for storing the gift & other sub box stuff I hoard, and this design just makes me happy to look at! Awesome job, FabFitFun!

  25. Spring was my first box and I loved it. Bought the annual to get choices. This box I have a strong preference for the blue ruana , but the other items I would like any color. I won’t use the massage oil. The salt set looks cool and I will give it a try. Nothing here that I can’t live without but I will enjoy it. Really love getting my first add-ones!

  26. If anyone is on the swap site and wants to swap the dry shampoo for the oil, please hit me up. I already posted the dry shampoo.

  27. I am so happy I have cancelled after one spring box which I had got with an Easter bonus. This box looks like a hot mess of mostly cheap items just trown in together. Sunscreen is the only useful thing if you like chemical protection.

    • Is there another type? (Besides not going outside or wearing clothing that covers your whole body?)

      • Yes. Physical. Titanium dioxide.

        • The good news is that a lot of the items I DON”T want are very swappable. I’ve already swapped for a ring I liked and for dryer balls I wanted so it works out. The salt is going as a hostess gift to a friend and the massage oil, while I don’t need another oil, will be a fun present for my boyfriend since he is big on working out and likes massages but most things smell so girly it just doesn’t go over well. This will be a win. I’m SO HAPPY I cancelled the artist add on. And I’m pretty unhappy about yet another dry shampoo. The luggage tag is another miss. I need to learn to stop doing extras, but after missing out on the ear climbers last box I thought these would be, well, better. Still weird that there’s no fitness in what should be a fitness box? The BKR water bottles are fantastic. I actually mix cocktails and put them in there and take them to the park/beach/picnics. I have two and I”m happy to have a third. They’re incredibly useful since they’re glass. In the winter I stick extra broth in them. The best quality bottles I’ve had. The bronzer is another loss for me. Ugh.

I’m mostly excited about my octagonal towel add-on and wish the travel option had been some kind of bottle, since for $5 I got a set of silicone travel bottles. VERY glad for the eye cream since I cancelled last minute my eye cream add on and poof there was one.

        • Not to mention mineral and organic.

  28. I am getting the blue ruana but now I want the black one. If anyone wants to switch please let me know. I am on the swap site.

  29. Not really excited for this one. The Ruana (in blue) might come in handy as a wrap if we travel. Like the eye cream. I’ll have to see the blush and necklace in person. I have a lot of water bottles, including this one in another color, but guess I can always use another, although the neck on this one is too small to use ice cubes with, so that’s a downer. I have lots of sunscreen, and rarely go outside during the heat of the day anyway as I can burn through a 50 SPF on a cloudy day. Horribly disappointed in the dry shampoo – I never, ever use it so will swap or donate it. Will use the sea salt, although I can’t say I’m really excited about it. I went back and forth on spending the extra for either the art or travel and finally decided not to – so glad about that!

  30. I always think I’m going to resubscribe to FFF, then I don’t, then I see the review and think how I want something I see in the box, then I realize that everything in this box that I really like is in another box that I already get, or something very much like it is in another box that I already get. So for me, I don’t end up resubbing. (Last season, they almost had me with that “Life’s a Beach” bag).

  31. I’m an annual member and I specifically chose the beige ruana. What was I thinking?!
Lol, that aside, the box looks amazing! I’m so excited for all the goodies!

I chose the beauty option and would’ve preferred the oil, but I like that brand of dry shampoo (dried it once in an Ipsy bag), so I’m happy it’ll be full-size.

This box is really amazing value. 🙂

Also – thanks, Liz, for the great review!

  32. Love the necklace (since they gave a choice in silver), the sunscreen, water bottle, and the massage oil. The jury is out on the ruana but it looks cool and I’ll play with it and find a use.
I could use a new eye cream and the Juice beauty one included is getting good feedback here so that’s cool too.
I like the colors on the luggage set but not sure how much I’ll use it and the salt set is definitely something different and new…..I may hold onto it, may not. I passed on the beauty and the art options – not an artist and overloaded on beauty. The only item I’m not interested in is the highlighter so this box is a win for me.

Hey, at least it didn’t include another tote or salt spray 🙂

  33. I wonder why they have soooo many different variations this season. I ordered a Summer box so I don’t get to choose. Guess I’ll be truly surprised.

  34. I have not subbed to fff for 2 years and I am confused. So what do I get if I just pay 49.99? Looking at this review, it led me to believe I am getting everything. I mean, one scarf, one necklace, but all the items listed. But reading the comments, it seems that is is not the case. Can someone please explain? Thanks in advance.

    • It seems like you either get beauty OR fitness (so only 1 out of the 2). Then you get chef, traveler, or artist options (1 out of the 3). You don’t get all of them.

    • My thoughts exactly. I purchased earlier, without being able to get the discount, and now I’m very confused about what I will be getting. I was never asked to choose between beauty or fitness, even though the review states all subscribers, not just annual, could choose. I really wanted to try that dry shampoo. Hope this ends up being worth it for me.

      • When did you order? Select members (people who pay for the full year) got to pick the color of the the scarf, necklace and bottle. Everyone got to choose one personality (chef, travler or artist) and a booster (beauty or fitness) but you had to choose on or before June 4. After that, anyone signing up will get random.

        • I signed up today 🙁

          • Don’t worry! You’ve got a good chance of getting the dry shampoo and if you don’t, a lot of people will be swapping it on the site.

  35. I think I did all 3, traveler, chef and artist. I sure hope so. I know I was indecisive on the chef but I am pretty sure I went back and added it. I love everything in this box. I wish it would ship sooner. I have to travel on business and will be gone when it arrives based on the dates they are now saying. I could really use that passport holder and luggage tag during my travels.

  36. Thanks for to the forum ladies who scouted out spoilers & shared on the forum! I’m glad I dropped the travel hobby & picked up artist, instead.

The only thing I won’t use from this box is the highlighter. That’s pretty good!

  37. This is my second FFF box. The Spring Box was fantastic, but I didn’t get any choices as I subbed after it was already out.

I am not an annual subscriber, so I don’t get choices on the first three items. The only thing I don’t really want is the peach version of the necklace – so we’ll see what I get. I don’t quite know how I’ll use the Ruana, but living in CA, I’ll find a use for it some way!

I don’t sub beauty boxes like Ipsy, Sephora Play, etc. and don’t have a huge stash like some people sound like the do. So I will find a use for all of the beauty items!

I am soooooooooo happy I have chosen the beauty boost for the dry shampoo. That is the best dry shampoo I’ve ever tried. And I am also glad I stuck to just the chef choice. I love creating in the kitchen, and having fancy salts to properly finish some dishes is so much fun. The other two choices wouldn’t have worked for me.

    Now…to wait for the box…

  38. I think it’s time for a change up. Feels like the boxes are always the same. Need new theme for next box.

    • I agree. Way too many beauty products lately.

  39. I can’t wait to get my box and add ons! I am seasonal so I didn’t get to choose colors, but really hoping I get the blue or black Ruana and I will want to swap for the other one. Also hoping for the silver necklace. I couldn’t decide on the choices I was allowed to make so I added on all the extras. I really debated dropping the art kit at the end, but I’m sure my daughter will enjoy it.

  40. I like the box itself, but REALLY disappointed with the choice items. Because I like a good surprise, I purchased the traveler, the artist, and the chef. ALL three are a TOTAL BUST for me. I chose the beauty item because I love beauty items, but I’d get more excited about toothpaste than dry shampoo. And of course the oil looks get to me. I didn’t choose that option because the mention of a scented item. Still, I do like the rest of the box. I just wish I didn’t blow $20 extra dollars on what I see as completely useless items.

Also, paying $10 for something with a roughly $25 (inflated) price tag doesn’t quite sit right. At least when I didn’t like the cuff bracelet, I paid $10 extra dollars extra for an $80 item.

  41. I am pretty happy with most of this box. I am excited to get it. I don’t really understand why they picked what they did for the artist option. It is extremely childish. Luckily I have small children that will enjoy it, so I didn’t waste my money but I feel sorry for everyone that did.

  42. I’m really disappointed that I paid for the artist and traveler kits. Blick. I am so tired of getting highlighters and I’ve already tried the bottle, and my ice doesn’t fit in it. But, I’m sure I’ll find someone to gift those things to!

Overall, I love this box, even with the items I don’t like! I wear scarves and necklaces most days, almost bought an eye cream and sunscreen with add-ons, and I actually bought a dry shampoo (it’s a staple in my home, so another is welcome). Also, I bought my hubby a massage table for his birthday a few years ago, and good massage oils are pricey! So this box is a great match for me! It’s also a phenomenal deal, even if I only count the items I will love and use!

    • You could get the ice cube trays that are shaped to form icicles that fit in water bottles like this?

      • I don’t know. The opening is about the size of a standard water bottle/2 liter bottle, and I have an ice maker that takes up a fair amount of my freezer, so I don’t see having room for an ice tray. I suspect I’ll just fill it with water and sit it in the fridge.

  43. I think the passport holder is really cute, but will probably never get a passport.

Does anybody know of some other ways I could use this? I thought maybe as a wallet but have no clue how to make that work.

    • Give it as a gift! That’s what I’m planning on doing with mine.

    • You could make a DIY notebook that will fit in the passport holder, slip it in your bag so you can jot some things when you’re on the go this summer.

    • You could use it for travel tickets and itineraries. That’s what I would do, and tuck in some notepaper.

The only items I won’t use are the juice beauty and the cargo items but that can easily be gifted!

I LOVE THE CHEF ITEM!!! The Himalayan salt set is SO gorgeous and this type of salt is so healthy and you only need a pinch to get a great taste!

Love Love Love! Best box ever!

  46. I knew the travel item had to be a luggage tag! So unimaginative, so boring. If you are a traveler, you would already have a few of these, so it’s not really going to be exciting for you.
I wish I chose the cook option instead.
That being said, I ordered a second box so hopefully, that one will have the sea salt.
I feel this box is beauty heavy and doesn’t feel summery. It’s still a good box.

    • Agreed on the travel set. Want an awesome travel item – compression bags! I have a bunch from Eagle Creek and I don’t even go away for a weekend now without using them. Or how about a blanket and pillow set that compresses down and can be used on a plane, the beach, etc.
I keep waiting for a box to introduce the sub box community to compession bags.

  47. I’m always most excited about my add ons lol ! And I always feel like im the only person that doesn’t like juice beauty products lol I hate the smell

  48. I was hoping traveler would be a nice luggage bag not a passport holder and luggage tag. I don’t travel by air because I have adorable sugar gliders and I can’t with them. I also picked chef which is fine but I would have saved $10 and only have picked the chef. I also picked both fitness and beauty and I’m not mad at it. I’ve been wanting to try that one and see if it’s good but I guess 50 % off isn’t bad since I paid an extra $10 for that too. So I paid $65 dollars for this box ($45 because of annual if you break it down and the extra 2 choices) I am currently try to swap the necklace, and I’m gonna swap the traveler and others. Not the best box but let’s say if the scarf, bottle, sunscreen, and dry shampoo was all that I kept that’s still $128 which is like double the amount I paid so I can’t be salty (Himalayan salty lol). If you want to check out my swap page just click on my name. 🙂

    • Currently trying*

    • Hello i really want the salt !!! What you want Back ?

    • Hello i really want the salt ! What do you want back ?

      • Eva, I would trade or sell the salt set with you. I would sell for $25 shipped or swap the Avene face spf plus if you pay for my shipping to you. Email me if interested. [email protected] (spelling it out.)

  49. First off love the style of the box itself! I have the spring box on my dresser in my bedroom lol. Second I hate hate hate the art kit, that’s the only choice I made. Boooo. Oh well, I will gift it to my friends son probably. I would never use the travel or the cook, but man oh man is the cook item cool!!!! I also can’t believe I don’t care for the blue necklace, I would have thought that would have been my favorite, but I like the other colors better. I wouldn’t mind getting blue but…

Idea for dry shampoo….I read it here at MSA…a woman said to spray it in shoes to freshen them up. I myself haven’t tried it. I don’t use dry shampoo for my hair, I have very frizzy, fluffy dry hair, my daughter uses it sometimes but is picky on what brand.

All in all I’m happy. No one is going to get everything they like, I think the only thing I don’t like is the art kit. Also, can’t wait for my add ons!

    • Hey, if you’re on the swap site, I only want the blue and will happily swap away the white or peach.

      • No, I’m not on the swap page. I’m not sure if I am getting the blue, I don’t get to pick. If I do get the blue and you get white or peach we can definitely swap somehow.

  50. I am actually disappointed. So many items I wish I could have switched knowing what they are now.
