ELIZA J - Shift Dress In Blue & Green Stripe

This is not the world's most flattering dress on me, but I did wear it out to lunch with my mother, and I felt really stylish, comfortable, and seasonal. It was a little heavy for what I normally think of as a spring dress, but it worked.

ROBBIE BEE - Coral & Aqua Zig Zag Print Dress

For Robbie Bee, I think this dress was pretty stylish, but I wound up not wearing it. I didn't like the way it made my upper body look or feel, so I had to just send this one back. It fit, but I was uncomfortable.

JOHNNY WAS - Mina Draped Cardigan

For ages and ages, I held the belief that Johnny Was pieces are frumpy and overpriced, but my mind has been swayed. This is the fourth or fifth piece I have worn (thanks to Gwynnie Bee) that made me feel stylish and pretty. I wore this out to lunch with a good friend, and I felt awesome in it. It may still be overpriced, but I think their styles have come a long way.

LONDON TIMES - Shift Dress In Patchwork Print

I wore this dress out to dinner at a really upscale place, even though it is a pretty casual piece. I dressed it up with jewelry and a killer bag, and I felt completely comfortable and cute! I like the way the lines of this print are so figure flattering! I only wish it was made of natural fibers, but I guess sometimes synthetics have their place.

KAREN KANE - Cold Shoulder Top In Paisley Print

Once a month I go out to a super casual bar with my best friend, and this month I wore this top to sort of spice things up. I usually wear something like a tee shirt and ratty jeans, but I thought it would be fun to look decent at least one time! Haha! This top was great. I think it's flattering and not too dressy, but could definitely be dressed up if I wanted. This was another poly blend, but it wasn't heavy on the spandex like a lot of these pieces tend to be, so the fabric actually held its shape and had a nice flow.

INC INTERNATIONAL CONCEPTS - Butterfly Garden Surplice Top

I actually love this top, even though it is chiffon, which I usually do not like. This top is so flattering! I felt like it was a little warm for the hot weather we are having here in Georgia, but the print offsets the black really well.

LUCKY BRAND - Ginger Bermuda Shorts in Tamaric

A little over a week ago, I had to travel to Los Angeles for work. Anytime I was not at work, I was living in these shorts. They are super comfortable! The length isn't quite right (short legs), but I played with cuffing them a bit, too. And who really cares when I was mainly wearing them around the hotel and out for a hike.

JETE - Baseball Shirt Dress

This dress did not work out for me at all. I was initially disappointed to find that it is a poly/spandex blend, and it looked like a cotton knit in the picture which I think would have worked much better. It is also one of those dresses that's above the knee on the model but is a midi dress on me, which I also didn't like. My husband kind of hated it. He couldn't understand it all. I thought it might be fun and casual to wear to the kids' soccer game, but no.

DEMOCRACY - Border Embroidery Top

I wore this top out to dinner the other night, and I felt so pretty! This top is gorgeous, and I love the embroidery so much! The only thing I didn't like about it was that the border trim around the shoulders didn't want to lay flat all the time. I don't know why it just kind of annoyed me from time to time.

TOCCA - Short Dress in Dot Print

This dress is super cute, but it's not really my style. I enjoyed trying it on, but I wound up not wearing it out. I don't think it is flattering on me, but I can never tell if a dress with a belt or elastic at the waist is going to work or not. I also don't usually like wearing sleeveless items because I don't think my arms are my best feature, and unfortunately, Gwynnie Bee is very sleeveless-heavy in the spring and summer. It was worth a shot, I suppose.

Verdict: I love Gwynnie Bee! I was really diligent about returning things quickly and notifying, and I think I got a few more items than usual because of it. I got so many pieces, it's hard to choose a favorite, but I loved the London Times dress and the Karen Kane top. I like trying new things all the time, and Gwynnie Bee gives me loads of new options! It's so fun!

My main problem with Gwynnie Bee, and the reason I didn’t subscribe after the first month, can be summed up in one word: polyester. This review really highlighted that. Sooo much polyester. There is a time and place for it, but so many plus-sized women have been tortured by having to constantly wear it for a large part of our lives, that I really wish they would cut down on it. Thankfully, there are more more fabric choices for our body shapes and sizes these days.

Also, Anna, seriously, that London Times dress STUNS on you. Like it was made for you. I second the suggestion that you buy it.

There are some fantastic pieces in this lineup. I love the Johnny Was cardigan, as well as the first striped dress (I think it’s quite flattering) and the London Times dress is amazing! Too bad on the baseball dress — it would have been cute if it was the right length for you. And I agree with LorieLynn about wearing sleeveless. I avoided it for YEARS, but finally a few summers ago I started going sleeveless and it was a game changer. I swear, no one cares! And if they do, it’s their problem, not mine (or yours!).

I used to feel that way about my arms…but when I wore something sleeveless I would get sommany compliments…now I wear tanks with pride. Your arms are fine don’t hide them. I love seeing your reviews since I’m a plus size and I see how things look on a real woman
