The box includes cards highlighting the month's selections and the vendors/makers behind each item. I like that the cards are bound together into a booklet by a black velvet ribbon!

Now onto the items!

*Bloomingville Large Alberte Bowl - Retail Value $36 (on sale for $29.99)

Bloomingville is a home goods brand that is new to me but one that I'm really excited to have discovered in this box! They carry pieces inspired by the Nordic style and living. It's great to receive a nice serving piece of this size in a box! It is modern in color and design but also reminds me of classic crystal cut bowls. Looking at the matte finish, I worried at first that it would stain easily but upon touching the bowl, it has a smooth finished surface. The ceramic bowl is microwave and dishwasher safe, which is always a relief.

This serving piece has a diameter of about 9.5" and a height of about 4.25". It's a great size for holding fresh fruit on your counter or a salad for two people. The pink color is so cheery and perfectly on trend.

*Bloomingville Acacia Wooden Utensils - Retail Value $12.99

The next item is also from the Bloomingville brand. It is a set of two serving utensils made from acacia wood. The grain and finish on these are very pretty and just rustic enough. The darker color on these should make them age well in my kitchen! Because these are made of real wood, they will need to be washed by hand and oiled occasionally to keep them from drying out.

The handles have the *Bloomingville logo burned into the wood.

The round, modern shape of these pieces is lovely!

Here are the utensils paired with the bowl. The rich brown shade of the acacia wood looks so pretty with the pink color of the bowl!

August & Oak You're My Favorite Greeting Card - Value $4.50

This folded greeting card has a vibrant floral design (with a strong Rifle Paper Co. vibe) and the words "You're My Favorite" in a bold san serif font. This card instantly felt special to me because my husband and I tell each other "you're my favorite" several times a day. It's extra sweet to have this sentiment in printed form.

Third-and-Main-Home-May-2017-0018 Third-and-Main-Home-May-2017-0019

The card is blank inside with lots of room for a thoughtful, handwritten note.

Third-and-Main-Home-May-2017-0020

The card is made in the US and has the maker's name on the back.

Third-and-Main-Home-May-2017-0021

The floral print is complemented well by a kraft envelope.

Baitx Made Green Tea Lemongrass Soy Candle - Value $16 (9 oz. is valued at $16, 12 oz. sells for $18)

This soy candle has a bright and fresh lemongrass smell with a hint of green tea. It came packaged in a branded drawstring bag. The candle is hand-poured in San Bernadino California.

Third-and-Main-Home-May-2017-0023

I like the shiny black lid and simple design of the candle's label. I'm excited to get up to 50 hours of burn time for this candle!

Llama Tea Towel - Value $18

This llama tea towel is too cute! The adorable llama illustration caught my eye right away and made me love this box instantly!

Third-and-Main-Home-May-2017-0026

The llama has a cheerful expression on her face and little circles for cheeks. The illustration style is charming and modern without feeling childish. Love those little hooves!

Third-and-Main-Home-May-2017-0027

The design is screen printed onto a textured cotton towel. The towel is machine washable, which is great because even though I wouldn't use this to clean up messes (it's too cute!) it would inevitably get dirty in my kitchen.

Verdict: I calculated a total retail value of $87.49 for the items in this box which is pretty good for the $54.95 price for the box (plus $10 shipping to most of the US). Quality home goods boxes like this one aren't typically high value, low-cost boxes but this one does better than others. This box is cheerful, colorful, and well curated with modern items I would happily display in my home. The llama tea towel and pink serving bowl are stand out items for me and the sentiment on the card made me smile. Overall, I think this is a very strong first showing for this new subscription box and I can't wait to see what's in store for us next month!

Why don’t you say in your review if this bowl is ceramic, plastic, or something else? I’m sure everyone would like to know what it’s made of. I know I could look it up on the Bloomingville website, but you are doing a review here!

She was kind enough to link to the exact bowl in her review just in case you wished to know anything else about the bowl 🙃 After clicking the link, I can tell you the bowl is ceramic!

I’m sorry I forgot to mention what the bowl is made of and will update the review. The bowl is ceramic, hope that helps!

I am loving this box but I promised to be good and can’t sub to anything new (until I do a culling 😉 within my current subs).

I have a Pinterest page for stuff I really covet from subscription boxes. That llama towel was destined for that page. I might have to go order it since I have falling in love with that guy…

If I had the extra money, I would absolutely get this box! I liked everything (which I haven’t done for months) and that towel was too cute! Loved that bowl as well. Too bad this box is almost $800 a year. 🙁

Seems like the value isn’t there. I would have expected to pay closer to $40 for the box, not $65 (including shipping to the U.S.)…the value is only $87.49 which is only $20 off. You can find that kind of discount at Macy’s regularly.

That’s what I was thinking, although I do like the looks of this sub.

Looks like great curation and quality items. I am over-subbed right now, but after I drop a few I could imagine picking up one. (…doorbell rings and 3 boxes arrive…!) it is so hard to find a good home decor box.

Especially liked the llama towel.

If you like cats, click on the link for the llama towel. That company also makes a 3 pack of ridiculously sweet cat towels!!! (I’m not one to spend $50 on 3 tea towels destined to be quickly stained, but they are great to look at!) looks like great curation and quality items. Especially liked the llama towel.

I, too, would have loved this box. I just don’t need any more bowls. Doesn’t mean I would say no if someone were to give it to me. I like every item.
