Marin Bee Lip Repair - FULL SIZE! Value $26

This lip balm is perfect if you are looking for a hydrating lip product that gives you a natural looking gloss. In the tube it has a pink hue, but on my lips there is really no color.

Here it is swatched:

And I'm happy to report - no stickiness!

Marin Bee Detox Masque - FULL SIZE! Value $48

Glowing-Beets-April-2017-0013

This clay mask is creamy, gentle, and a little sticky thanks to the honey! You apply a thin layer on your face for 10 minutes, then rinse away.

It left my skin feeling smooth and clean, and the pumpkin and oatmeal made this mask smell yummy, too!

And Marin Bee included a coupon code for 15% off your next order!

Root + Willow Lava Scrub in Lemon Geranium - FULL SIZE! Value $18

Glowing-Beets-April-2017-0011

Considering this body scrub is made with organic ingredients, I'm surprised the retail value isn't higher!

Glowing-Beets-April-2017-0010

The scrub is made with sugar and pumice powder, so it's great for gentle exfoliation, and the coconut oil left my skin moisturized. (On the scale of how oily is this scrub, with 0 being just raw sugar, and 10 being a SUPER oily, I'd say this is about a 7.) The lemon geranium scent is so refreshing, too!

Fred + Far Enamel Pin - Value $12

Glowing-Beets-April-2017-0008

This is the second month now that I've received a Fred and Far enamel pin from Glowing Beets. I'm considering these just bonus items, so that's fine with me!

Glowing-Beets-April-2017-0007

Verdict: This box has a value of about $104! I think that's a great value for a $36 natural/organic beauty box! Plus, both the Marin Bee and Root + Willow brands are new to me - and they are fab!

Hi Liz,
You mentioned that this is a new beauty box, but Glowing Beets has been around at least since early 2016 when I first subscribed. They may have been around even longer, but I’m not sure since it wasn’t until early last year when I got sucked into the beauty box game. 🙂

Haha the other review from the other box that had the pin has the RV as $6 and this one has it as $12. That little pin is so confusing!

I don’t understand that pin… does that symbol mean something? Why is it in the box? And why is it a “just boys” item to Liz?

Oops! What a typo! Yes, that should have been bonus not boys! I think it is supposed to be a diamond?

katie

I “think” she meant BONUS item?

I have been going back and forth on whether or not I should subscribe to this box (I already have Art of Organics, Beauty Heroe’s, Pearlesque, Glossybox, and Beautyfix so I am a little box-nuts, but I still want more!) anyway have any reasons why this box is a hit or a miss? It seems like they have a lot of full size products (which is what I am looking for), but is that always the case, and are the products high-quality? Thanks!

Don’t feel too nutso. I have about 28. Some of those are annual and some are clothing subscription service.

28?? Oh my goodness! I only have 8 and I’m swimming in products and other stuff. I had to go to the Container store this weekend to buy an Elfa storage system. I love reading these reviews and it makes me want more even though I have more than I need. Addiction???

Compared to the boxes you already subscribe to, I think Glowing Beets could be a good addition. I’ve been subbed off and on since early last year (cancelling only to take an occasional temporary break from non-prepaid boxes), and I’m pretty sure I only received full-sized products. I remember also receiving hair products as well. I feel including a “lifestyle” item is a fairly new thing, as I think they only sent beauty products in the past. Also, the brands typically aren’t luxe brands like you’d get in Art of Organics or Beauty Heroes, or even higher end brands you’d get in Pearlesque, but despite usually not including mainstream or trendy green beauty brands, the products Glowing Beets does include are of good quality, and serves as a really nice discovery box. 🙂

Thank you so much Luna, I think I will have to give this box a try. I reached out to them (Glowing Beets) and they said they had some previous boxes available still for sale too – is there a particular month you thought was especially good? If so I may see about snagging that month as well as this months… 😊

Sammee

I subscribed to this box and received three before cancelling. The quality was great, but I cancelled because a lot of their boxes are a mix of skincare and face color products and almost all of the face color products were a miss for me. To be fair, I am a woman of color and I’ve found that a lot of makeup sub boxes don’t send colors that would look nice with my complexion. Of course, like any subs that only deal with skincare, it can be a miss if the products don’t work with your skin type. One month included a mask that was very irritating to my skin, but not everyone may have had that experience. I don’t remember receiving a single product that wasn’t high quality even if it didn’t work with my complexion or skin type. And yes, all of the products in the boxes were either full size or very generous samples (e.g. half sizes). So if you’re interested in this box I’d definitely give it a try.

Thanks Sammee, I’m half Puerto-Rican so makeup products can be a bit iffy with me too due to my complexion. I will have to check out some previous boxes to see how prevalent the makeup amount is, because I really don’t want a makeup box…
