JustFab has had a monthly VIP club for years now, and I love their styles. So I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try out their brand new styling service, PS by JustFab (PS stands for Personal Stylist)!

It works like many other styling services, such as Stitch Fix, Trunk Club, and Dia & Co. You pay a styling fee and receive five pieces selected for you by your stylist. You only keep what you like and return the rest with free shipping both ways. The styling fee is deducted from any purchases you make, and if you keep everything you get 20% off the total!

When I signed up, I took a lengthy quiz to let my stylist know my size and style preferences. A few days later, I received this email alerting me that my stylist had chosen some items for me. I could just click the link and preview my package.

There are some styling services that allow you to preview your package and reject items you don't like before they are sent to you, but this was a first. With PS by JustFab, I could keep the choices my stylist made for me, or if I didn't like something, I could swap it with an item on my JustFab wishlist! And of course, since I am a JustFab VIP, I had tons of items on my wishlist!

This invoice was included in my package, and the cost to keep each item is listed on the upper right of the page. On the upper left is a note from my stylist, and at the bottom is an adhesive return label.

The reverse side of the invoice has instructions for purchasing and/or returning the items in the package. The main thing I want to draw your attention to is that you have a generous eight days to try everything on. Nice!

Statement Jacket - Cost to Keep $39.95

How incredibly cool is this jacket? I just love it! As blazers go, it's fairly flattering, but check out the amazing design. This is such a win!

Distressed Slim Boyfriend Jeans - Cost to Keep $39.95

It has been a while since I tried on jeans that were 100% cotton, but to be honest, I did not miss the spandex one bit! These were super comfortable. They are pretty cute, too!

Black Lace-Up Top - Cost to Keep $19.95

This cotton blend top with its flutter sleeves is cuter on me than I thought it would be. I love the lace-up back detail! It might be a bit too billowy for my tastes, though.

Embroidered Tassel Jacket - Cost to Keep $39.95

I love the embroidery on this cotton jacket! I think I'm getting a little tired of olive, though. I also think this jacket is way too billowy! It would be prettier without so much pleating, I think.

Crochet Peasant Blouse - Cost to Keep $29.95

This top was the piece I was most excited to receive, but it's just not that flattering on me. I absolutely love the color, and the crochet is just so fun and stylish! I am kind of torn about it, to be honest.

Verdict: I loved my first box from PS by JustFab! This was so much fun, mainly because I got to try on several of the pieces I had been eyeing lately. I think the statement jacket is a big win! The jeans are awesome, too. If you love the styles from JustFab, I think this is a great way to get to try before you buy!

I might cancel my Dia&co and sign up for this one instead. The prices are much more affordable. I already use JustFab and their plus clothing selection seems to be improving lately. Ok, I talked myself into it! I am going to go and sign up.

So I just signed up for this service and was immediately charged $77 dollars. Like I literally signed up this morning. Has this happened to anyone else?

I keep getting invites to this but I don’t see the benefit. It’s all the same clothes they normally carry without any discount unless you buy the box, which is unlikely with someone else picking out the clothes. Unless, you change it all to things on your wishlist, but even then 20% off doesn’t beat their frequent sale prices. Other boxes send you things you might not find on your own. I’ll just keep buying what I want on my own from their site.

Also, pet peeve of mine, that top is not crochet, it is machine knit lace. Crochet cannot be machine made and doesn’t look like that anyway, but if it was crochet for that price, the person making it by hand would be getting slave wages. JustFab mislabels a lot of their fabrics and styles.

Thanks for the input tpop!

That jacket looks fabulous on you! It’s so cute. I also love the polls you set up on your reviews. It’s fun to vote on the different outfits!

I tried this service and I was a bit disappointed in it. The regular just fab site was having a sale and all of the items I received were on sale. I reached out to ask about price matching and they just said that they’re two different sites and don’t price match. So tell me, other than them picking 5 items off my wish list, where’s the value in the service? I have to pay the $20 styling fee and full price when I could have just ordered all 5 of the same items from their regular site at a discount with free shipping and returns. Just left a bad taste and didn’t make me want to use their service again.

That’s terrible that they won’t honor sale prices on their own items, same site or not. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the input Jessi! Good points.

I got one PS box a couple months ago, and I was really excited to try it. I ended up keeping everything, but in hindsight, I should have tried all of them on first….one thing looked really cute, but was atrocious when I put it on. Other than that, everything else was fine…just not as fun as I thought it would be. The “stylist” just pulled things off my wishlist, and there was no “what did they pick out for me?” when I got the box, since they let you preview and swap out the items. I don’t think I’ll do it again.

I prefer 100% cotton jeans. They are actually hard to find. But then I don’t want to make my legs look slimmer and the spandex/elastane ones never fit me right anyway.

I signed up when they started the waitlist for this but I haven’t heard back. I was wondering if it would be more likely for my size to be in stock that way. Seems by the time I go looking for clothes with JF, the ones I like are all gone.

I like all the nice, bright colors they sent you.

Amanda

@Ragan are you still on the waitlist? If not, how long did it take you to get off the waitlist? I’m impatient. These prices are really good. Thanks!

Ragan

I actually forgot about this.

I’m probably not a high priority for them because I rarely buy anything from JF anymore.

Amber

Ragan, you are correct in thinking that styles in your size would be more available via PS. The one box I got included the cozy bomber jacket that had been out of stock in my size for weeks, and still showed out of stock on the site. I think that is the only upside to this service.

I also tried to exchange a pair of denim for a different wash, which was on sale, so even though they are supposed to give you 20% off if you keep all items (including exchanging) the sale item I tried to exchange for removed the discount. So I just kept the jeans, even though the wash was a lot brighter blue than showing on the model. They’ll just be hangover jeans, I guess, since the only time I’d leave the house in them would be on a day I didn’t give a ffff about what I was wearing.
