Now, onto the items!

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0021

Akar Ruby Tint Lip Butter - 2 ml Value $8

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0022

This lip butter is made with natural and organic ingredients, and it’s super moisturizing and provides a hint of shine and color.

Here it is swatched:

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0025

You might be able to notice it from the swatch - this formula is a tad grainy right out of the jar. I was able to rub the lip balm in for a smooth finish, though.

Londontown Lakur Enhanced Color in Cheerio - FULL SIZE! Value $16

Subscribers will receive one of five colors: Love Bite #9 (cotton candy pink), Bespoked (blush), Cheerio (sheer pink), Princess Awaits (iridescent white with rose gold sparkles), or Fruit Tella (vibrant fuchsia).

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0018

I'm in love with this sheer pale pink shade! It's a great no-polish polish look. Here it is with two coats:

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0026

So simple and classic! (And this vegan polish is 9-free!)

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0019

Londontown kur Nourishing Cuticle Oil - FULL SIZE! Value $18

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0020

This cuticle oil works instantly to moisturize and improve the appearance of cuticles. And there is no chemical smell - love it!

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0015

Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum - 7 ml Value $2.85

This serum is designed to help "brighten skin and boost collagen health, minimizing the look of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the appearance of uneven skin tone."

It's a lightweight gel/cream hybrid that absorbs quickly and is gentle on my skin. Plus, I don't always like Derma E scents, but this one is a winner for me! (I think it sort of smells like Fruit Loops, but my husband, Eric disagrees!)

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0009

John Frieda 7 Day Volume In-Shower Treatment - 1 oz Value $2.25

This treatment is designed to give your hair extra volume and texture. You apply it post shampoo and conditioner while you're still in the shower, then rinse out after 3-5 minutes.

I'm on a constant quest for more volume, so I was excited to give this a try. It was easy enough to use, and I went without any additional hair products post-shower to make sure I didn't mess with the formula.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the major volume results I was hoping for. My hair feels slightly more texturized, but that's it. (This may work better for people with thinner hair.)

Allure-Beauty-Box-March-2017-0011

Secret Invisible Solid Deodorant in Cool Waterlily - .5 oz Value $1

Secret is my go-to deodorant, so I'm happy to see this bonus item addition! (All subscribers will receive this, but it isn't listed in the booklet.) The scent isn't what I would pick for myself, but I don't mind it, and I always need mini deodorants for travel.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $48. That's good for a $15 beauty box! The only downside is that a lot of the value is in the two full-size nail products. If you like the Londontown items as much as I do, I think you'll love this box. If you don't, I think the March box might not be for you.

What do you think of the March Allure Beauty Box?

This box is regularly $15 a month, but you can use this link to save $5 off your first box. (If you sign up before the end of March, your first box will be the March box.)

You'll also get this eyeshadow palette for FREE:

i ordered and although my bank account was billed several months, my mailbox remained empty. When I called to try to resolve this problem, I received a free lecture and a refusal to cancel. No worries, my bank can help me. They need to hire people who actually care

Worst box evet!!! Extremely disappointed!!!

HELP! After the March spoilers came out, I suspended my Allure box until April. However, Allure sent me the unwanted March box anyway. I chatted with a CS rep, and she told me to mark the box “Return to Sender.” I did this and took it to the PO yesterday. The postal worker scanned the box as REFUSED, and today I got a notice saying it was DISPOSED BY POST OFFICE.

Does anyone know what this means??? I hope they did not just throw my package away because I was charged for that! I will be so angry if they did, and I don’t get refunded my $16.05!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Jill

Who issued you the notice “Disposed by Post Office”? Allure or your PO? If the PO sent the notice, you should ask them to clarify exactly what the notice means. If Allure sent you the notice, it doesn’t matter b/c they still must refund you. You paused your subscription to avoid the March box. It was sent to you anyway, by mistake, and you sent it back. That notice is proof you did return it. Email Allure CS (NOT live chat or messaging) and request a timely refund. (And save your email thread, just in case they don’t follow up) Don’t worry, they’ll refund you…eventually.

Cassie

Thanks for the advice, Jill! I called Allure CS and spoke to Ashley. She was super duper nice and is issuing me a refund. She was very apologetic. In the future, I will be calling CS instead of doing the chat. I prefer chatting, but I always feel like they are a little condescending or act like they have no clue what is going on.

Kc

Wow, this is the worst beauty box I have gotten (march allure). Teeny lip sample, my nail polish was open which stunk up the box and it was in cheerio which is practically a sheer white. This box was such a joke and the shipping was ridiculously long. They can use ups or FedEx to avoid this kind of thing and they can get better products so it’s not like a Walmart box. Canceled, and not looking back.

I too was very disappointed in my box this month. This is the first time Allure disappointed me so Im hoping next month is better.

Meg

Any April spoilers yet??

Reply ButtonReply

Lola

For the first time in my 6 month sub I am disappointed. I got the lightest color polish. Way too light almost non existent in color. As the value of the box was in the nail products I felt the deodorant help to round out the box some even though it’s low value. The miss on the nail color makes me feel glad I only paid $10 for this box. I make monthly bridal boxes for friends and family, so the nail polish will go into one of those boxes. If it was absolutely useless to me then I would probably have been furious. Drama, drama, drama. Oh well one month left to go. Love my Look Fantastic with its deluxe sizes this month and my Sephora play, and I just got the Sisley box for March. So I do have some fun things to try this month.

Wish I could at least share what I think of the products. Still haven’t received mine. It was shipped on the 9th. These boxes take to long to receive.

Reply ButtonReply

Kc

Mine shipped march 6 and still isn’t here. What’s worse is that the tracking said it came to my city then departed two states away and was supposed to be here yesterday. I’m guessing they forgot to leave the pkg in the correct city before going to their next destination. Frustrating, haven’t heard back from customerservice yet. I’m canceling this sub since it’s gone downhill and the shipping is ridiculous.

Cassie

Ang, I haven’t received mine either! It shipped on March 8. It went from PA to IL to Atlanta and then to Miami, FL. I live in South Georgia!!! It’s never done this before or taken this long! Then the tracking info said it was “In transit to destination” at lunch time March 15, but it was updated this morning saying it departed Miami around 1:22 am!!! What gives??? I know it isn’t Allure’s fault; it’s the PO. None of my boxes have ever taken this long before. And the funny thing is, I didn’t even want this box–I suspended my service until April. However, Allure said they never received that transaction and sent the March box anyway. So I just want to receive the box so I can “return to sender.”

Khaleesi

Excited about the serum and nail stuff, will use everything but the hair item.

Will definitely look for the spoilers for next month because it’s getting boring.

It’s sad my fave thing in the box was the deodorant, right? LOL, oh well. I got Cheerio too & hate sheer nail polishes that practically look nude. If I’m gonna go to the trouble to do home manicures, I want something that actually shows up. So that & the cuticle oil will go to my sister’s charity (they get a ton of goodies from me several times a year). I’ve gotten the 7-day volume in 3 other boxes, but at least it does work well. Even though I’ve been unimpressed with the past 3 Allures, I just can’t seem to quit it because it was always my fave and I suspect they’ll rebound. Plus, I only get two beauty boxes now (this & Allure) after having tried some 15-20 in all, so I feel like they are the 2 best ones out there. Onto April…! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy Khan

I added 2 drops of red and turned my Cheerio into Blush.

Reply ButtonReply

SBR

I hear ya… I was going to suspend my account yesterday, and i just couldn’t do it. What if April is a great month? I just added Satva for 14.99 a month, and I told myself when I started allure last year that I woukd keep it to 1 a month. but, i may wait for April spoilers..

This box *is* Allure. 🙂
Which other one did you mean?

Reply ButtonReply

Mary K

Oops, I meant Play! 😉

sdonahue

Does Allure still go those very large seasonal boxes or have they stopped that and changed to monthly??
I’m a new subscriber and have seen those large boxes from past years

Nikol

My box and my mom’s box were both missing the lip butter.

Very unhappy with this March box and February! Seems like this March box is awful because maybe they are giving so many of the eyeshadows to new subs (which I got that eyeshadow as a item in January box!) and they are trying to make up the price difference it costs them. Not sure but this is my third box and only liked one of the three so if next month isn’t better I will get another sub and cancel this one! Play! Has been another that’s pushing it but end part of last year Allure box was so great it’s what made me join. I got the pink type nail color in this months box and hate it… It is so not my color and a sample size deodorant is like a Walmart box! Come on Allure, step it up!

Reply ButtonReply

Lola

This would have been a good month for them to have given us a supplemental shadow for our pallette.

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

This box was only o.k. Certainly not up to the usual Allure standards IMO. I like the Cheerio polish and cuticle oil. The other stuff was not so good. I was shocked at the lip butter – that is the tiniest container I have seen in a beauty box.

Reply ButtonReply

Jill

Received my box yesterday with the same configuration as the review above. I love the Cheerio polish!!! And I’m a big fan of nail oils…use several times a day and my nails are in wonderful condition. I like all my items and will try all of them…eventually. This month might be less than spectacular but overall I’m satisfied. The only time I’ve been truly disappointed is when I didn’t receive what was advertised. I cancelled once before and sure enough the following boxes were fantastic. So, I will hang in there thru the mediocre months. I like the Allure box b/c I discover new beauty brands and once in a while I receive a treasure (Le Mer, Foreo, etc). I never realized how much I would miss this box until I cancelled and downgraded to another box. It just wasn’t the same. I love the suspense of watching for the spoilers and reviews too! Thanks Liz 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Chrystal

My box arrived today and I received the nail polish in Cheerio as well. Was really hoping to receive Love Bite #9 or Princess Awaits. I’m starting to feel like the next few boxes may be a bit meh as well. I’m hoping that once they are done honoring all the $10 deals the value and curation will improve. That being said I can still see the value in this box because I am a nail polish hoarder, I always take my own polish to my nail salon…not sure the value is there for the subscribers who aren’t nail polish fans!

Reply ButtonReply

autumn mckenzie

how did you all have more than one $10 month?

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Petrus

When I signed up, I got a deal that you got your first 4 boxes for $10. Next month is my last and I’m definitely canceling after that. My first box didn’t include the brushes and I have written them 4 emails and was told 4 separate times by 4 separate people that they would send them and never did. It’s been 3 months now and still no brushes. Those and the $10 deal were the ONLY reason I signed up. It’s not worth $15! There’s too many other great boxes out there to waste time and money on this. I love my boxycharm and Play! By Sephora and the Walmart beauty box . Ipsy has to be my favorite, they never disappoint and it’s only $10 plus a super cute makeup bag each month. I just cancelled birchbox but also get barkbox and since I got the FabFitFun editor’s box for $24.99, I’m signed up for that too and my spring box just shipped!

Reply ButtonReply

SBR

It was a holiday sale. I am not on that deal, so 15.00 a month for me. It sounded like once I canceled, and resubbed under the 10.00 for four months that I would have gotten a 2nd January box which i didn’t want.

Reply ButtonReply

autumn mckenzie

I am done with Allure beauty box. The last few months have really been a let down. I agree with many of the comments…I opened it and saw the deodorant and the John Frida, and thought…this is like a Target Beauty box. The nail polish color I got is so light, it is like wearing none at all. and the other two samples are microscopic-the derm-a and the lip tint. Also the reviewer said that she got the eye shadow pallet for free…it was not free for past subscribers…it counted as one of our main items, I believe in the January box. I just feel like I could spend the $15 toward products that I will actually use. Disappointed.

Reply ButtonReply

SuzieBB

Disappointed in March. I was really looking forward to getting the nail polish, with fingers crossed it was the color featured above.

Nails – received fuchsia, which I strongly dislike. Will give away.
Secret – no thanks
7 Day Volume – Have tried, it made my scalp itch.
Derma E – I probably should, but I never bother with products like that
Akar – doesn’t really show up. I don’t see the benefit, especially at this price point.

Overall, I was very disappointed in this box. Didn’t care for Feb, either. It’s a shame because I have enjoyed Allure in the past. If April doesn’t bring back the love, I’m dropping them.

Reply ButtonReply

SSM

Try a thin layer of the Akar UNDER the Burt’s Bees lipstick we got in January. It looks fabulous! But yeah, I looked into purchasing it and was disappointed to see it was $28.

Reply ButtonReply

Caitlyn

I got this box as a first time subscriber this month as well but paid the 15.00. I don’t think the 15.00 is really worth it personally. I do agree the value is mainly in the nail products, which I do like but an overall value, nah. I unsubscribed after today. The beauty box from target has similar things as this but for 7.00!

Reply ButtonReply

mclin7

I sadly agree with you, Caitlyn. Other than the two nail products, the rest three are ultra ultra tiny! Why does Allure give miniature sizes of drugstore items? I think the deodorant is a “sponsor item.”
I cancelled as well. For this kind of box, Target is better.

Reply ButtonReply

tara

I just did a video about how great this box is and then we get this junk in the March box!? I get this stuff in my Walmart box. A deodorant!? Really?

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

The lip butter is SO tiny. It’s like I’m opening my Play box. And the travel sized deodorant and John Frieda are something I’d expect from Target – Allure usually gives us full size drug store products. I know some people weren’t happy with last month’s box, but we got a full sized mascara and Cargo colorstick, plus two facial treatment items. I like nail polish, but not for $34 of the box! Plus 2 nail items in a month seems like a bad choice, especially when they’re the main value.

I hope Allure does better next month, or I might consider cancelling this and Play to get something a little more expensive…

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

Anyone else still not get their February box?

I’ve been charged for both Feb and March.

Cs seems clueless when I call and I never get a response to email cs requests.

Disappointed because unlike other people I like both Feb and March box.

Reply ButtonReply

SuzieBB

I received my Feb box last week, it shipped on March 7. The sucky part is that I put my subscription on hold near the end of Jan to resume early March, because I didn’t want the Feb box after seeing the spoilers. I chatted with CS and they told me I didn’t put it on hold early enough. They also said there were delays shipping Feb boxes due to one of the products being held up in customs. Check your email for the shipping email, it will have the link to track your box if it has shipped.

Reply ButtonReply

Kris

Same thing happened to me.. I did mine mid Jan, resume date of Mar 1 and thought it worked until I got Feb box a few days. Not happy 😡.

SBR

End of January was not early enough to skip February? So not cool! So does that mean after we see the spoilers, it is too late to hold our account and skip that month? Wonder if cancelling would have stopped the box….?

Cassie

Julie, did you get tracking information for your February box? If so, contact your local Post Office. They should be able to research it and figure out what’s going on.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

Thanks, I never got an email with a tracking number so I contacted them again and it was finally sent out last Friday.
Hasn’t arrived yet.

Kaitlynn Marie

Damn. I was literally just talking about how I’ve seen more value from Allure than I was from Birchbox which is why I switched and now this month is a dud. *sigh*

Reply ButtonReply

tara

Same here! What a disappointment this month…

Reply ButtonReply

SBR

Now that I actually have the box… the deodorant is so small it is cute which somehow makes it more appealing… LOL… The cuticle oil, I think I will like but I applied it to my nails and cuticles before painting my nails, so with one coat the polish was super sheer which I loved but I think that is why mine starting chipping so quickly… the lip tint was also super sheer with no noticeable color which is fine. I haven’t tried the other products. I find myself super loyal to companies, but I am starting to think it might be time to switch sub boxes. I only allow myself one (well I did get the target last month but it was perfect vaca items), but I am starting to look around… I might try one of the vegan or cruelty free boxes next. I want a good mix of skincare, makeup, hair and other random items such as deo, breath spray, etc. which is why I chose Allure…

Reply ButtonReply

Jill

Never put oil on nails before applying polish. It won’t adhere. Clean your nails with cutex or liquid detox, dry completely, and then apply polish. It’s always best to apply a bonding base coat underneath. Your polish needs to be completely dry before putting on oil. (just FYI) 🙂

meg

I signed up but I got the Feb box. Not sure if I will get March? When do they ship?

Reply ButtonReply

AAC

Just received my Allure box today and got the same exact variation as Liz did. I’m happy with this box – there’s definitely value here. The sheer pink is spot on! My go-to is Essie Ballet Slippers which has a notoriously streaky.

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

I put my sub on “suspend”. You can even put a date in that you wish to start getting your box again. You don’t have to cancel. I saw the spoilers for March weeks ago so put my acct on temp hold.

Reply ButtonReply

Cassie

Ann, I did the SAME thing, but I got charged and received shipping information for the March box. There is seriously NOTHING in this box that excites me. I put in 4/1/17 for my date, but for some reason they do not have a record of that transaction according to CS. I asked if I could return it for a full refund, and she said I could put “Return to Sender” on the unopened box and send it back. That’s exactly what I plan on doing. So disappointed in the past couple of Allure boxes, and I usually love them!

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy

Anyone know when the thrills box comes out?

Reply ButtonReply

autumn mckenzie

hi, what is the thrills box?

Reply ButtonReply

SuzieBB

Hmm. Looks more like a Target box this month.

Reply ButtonReply

Theresa

If May spoiler is not better I’m canceling too. I do t need more nail polish. I’m feeling like Target boxes too. If mot better I’m canceling and moving on. I don’t full hair shampoo. I only liked the serum. This used to be my fave box and when I chose to save money. I kept this first. I love boxycharm. I cancelled them twice and regretted it. Allure has better products and I been unhappy since I never got the mango shampoo that didn’t come. If the video shows it I expect itt. So up your game or take me to the baseball game of better bixes
