Now, onto the items!

So-Susan-January-2017-0010

Jelly Pong Pong Liptensity Hydrating Lip Gloss in Intensity - Value $19.95

So-Susan-January-2017-0011

This is a bold lip gloss that packs a good amount of shine and a lot of pigment! (Swatched in lower photo.)

So-Susan-January-2017-0012

Jelly Pong Pong Dream Palette in Midnight Ride - Value $20

So-Susan-January-2017-0013

This little eyeshadow palette is stunning! (I'm always surprised when I see one of those little foam eyeshadow applicators with palettes, though.)

The pigment is excellent with these shades, and they all have a gorgeous shimmer, too. (Swatched in lower photo.)

So Susan Lip Pout in Parrots - Value $18.95

So-Susan-January-2017-0015

Is there a word or phrase for when you fall in love with a makeup product before even trying it just because of the packaging? This parrot tube is adorable! Fortunately, the lipstick formula holds up to the cuteness of the container. It's a creamy formula with a sweet flavor and a good amount of pigment, too. The finish is not totally matte, more like a satin.

Trifle Cosmetics Liquid Glow - Value $19.95

This is a liquid luminizer that looks pink out of the tube (swatched below), but once you blend it in, it's a much more subtle glow with just a hint of pink. You can also add a few drops of this to your liquid foundation to get a more dewy look.

Here are all the colors swatched:

Limited Edition Makeup Bag - Value $12

So-Susan-January-2017-0007

Every month includes a makeup bag. In the past, the bags have been canvas, but this one is a water/spill proof plastic material. I really liked the canvas bags, but I think I like this version even more - it's very practical for makeup! And it is lined inside!

Verdict: This month's So Susan Lip Love bag has a value of about $91! I think that value is fantastic for a $21 ingredient-conscious beauty subscription box. If you are looking for a vegan, ingredient conscious makeup subscription, I can't recommend this one enough. The value is great, the formulas are great, and the bonus bag is always super cute!

I really like this sub. Putting it on wishlist!

Are you able to select a shade or two like you can with Lip Monthly? Since that started all my bags have been perfect for me. However, I would love to get a bag full of So Susan, Jelly Pong Pong and Trifle products rather than some of the others that LM puts it. These products are worth the price.

Wow… this is the first time I’m ever hearing of this sub! How’s that you ask? I have no idea… But it looks amazing. I’m going to hold off to see what’s in their February box though, as I already have the Liquid Glow from LF and the Jelly Pong Pong Lip Gloss looks way to dark for my skin tone. Still so tempting though!

This bag looks amazing! I had this sub for awhile and the items were so hit and miss for me I cancelled. I’m going to have to rethink that after seeing Feb and March. Hopefully they stepped up their game.

Im a bit miffed since the eyeshadow palette came to me totally smashed and went all over my carpet when I opened the box so I threw it away. I emailed customer service and was told since I did not take a picture of it they would not replace it. I was more worried about my carpet than thinking to take a picture of it. 🙁

Nice selection this month. The only thing I couldn’t pull off is that bright gloss but the rest looks great, and very tempting since I cancelled Lip Monthly. Love the parrots too 🙂 And that eye palette! It looks so much more pigmented in the swatch than in the palette pic, wow. Agree on the foam applicators… I might use them once in a blue moon to pack on dark or glittery shades to avoid brush fallout, or smudge liner along the lash line if I don’t have a brush handy, but that’s about it. Of course, I’d rather they leave them out entirely and increase the size of the pans instead, hehe!

This is still my favorite bag. No one makes products that smell as good as these. I have only had a few items I wasn’t crazy about, mostly lip gloss. Bags always cute, great products and stunning packaging. No, I don’t work for them. I look forward to this one more than any other. Also, they have an awesome reward program they started in January. You can spend on anything on the South Susan website.

I received the liquid glow from Look Fantastic in January. It’s beautiful. I either mix it with my liquid foundation or if I’m wearing a light-colored blush, put a little on top.

This seems like a fun sub. It’s one of about five that I currently have my eye on…

Idk if it’s just me. But I always assume palettes are a little cheap looking when they have the foam applicator! I know it’s a bit harsh but if that palette is supposidly $20 I think they should have placed a better brush. Look at those swatches! They are beautiful, there are going to need move love than using foam. Great pigmentation 😍

Missy

Guess I’m the odd man out because I like the foam applicators. So embarrassing lol😊

Jaclyn

Agreed. It would be better to make the palette without an included applicator if the company isn’t going to spring for a tiny brush.

Liz Cadman

I’m the same way with those foam applicators – I think it would be better to include no brush than to include one of those!

Missy

Guess I’m the odd woman out! I actually like them on occasion. So embarrassing lol 😊

I can’t believe I never paid attention to this box before! This entire month looks fab! I’m with you on the parrot packaging, too.

Is this bag still available or would I get February?

Denise

You can buy the bag outside of the subscription but It would cost $45.

Missy

Dang!

TNmomX3

Their customer service is amazing. You could email them beforehand and ask them. I did that when I first subbed because that certain month caught my eye in the review and they graciously made it happen.

Kimberly B

Oooh, TNmomX3, thank you so much for mentioning that! I looked at a few more months of reviews here, said “Heck Yeah!”, signed up, then emailed asking if I might start with the January bag. or else get the parrot lipstick instead of something else in my February bag. Even if I can’t, I don’t mind, because I really love that you can skip a month. My first (and only for over a year) sub box was Julep, and my second and third were Graze and Nature Box, so I thought all boxes let you skip months and let you know what you’d be getting!

Liz Cadman

I believe your first box will be the February box since those have already started shipping. Hope that helps!
