Sci-Fan Block is a block from Nerd Block. It was originally Sci-Fi Block (check out the old Sci-Fi Block reviews) but has now grown to include Science Fiction and Fantasy franchises. They set out to send 4-6 collectibles with an exclusive shirt each month.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review box).

The Subscription Box: Sci-Fan Block (formerly: Sci-Fi Block)

The Cost: $19.99 plus shipping (Shipping is $8.75 to Canada, $9.95 to US, $12.50 Worldwide)

The Products: Every Nerd Block comes with a custom t-shirt (in your size) and 4-6 geeky items.

Ships to: US, Canada, and Worldwide!

Check out all of my old Sci-Fi Block Reviews to get more information on this subscription. Check out all of our Geeky Subscription Boxes in the Subscription Box List. Rate, review, and follow this subscription on the Sci-Fan Block profile page.

It seems like they are dabbling with themes across their boxes. This one didn't have a theme - but you'll at least know a couple franchises in the box before subscribing.

You'll get a booklet that includes stories and information about the items in the box.

And you'll always get a $10 voucher to spend at their Nerd Block store - mine is free to the first reader to redeem!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Shirt - Value $15?

This month's shirt brings back Buffy! I like the graphic even if I was never a fan of the show - was I the only person who really enjoyed the movie from the early 90's but didn't follow the show?

Ghostbusters Funedibles Vinyl Figure - Value $17 on Amazon

The hero item of the box is this little vinyl figure featuring either Slimer as a jello mold or Stay-Puft as a, well, as himself - a marshmallow.

These figures stand 4 inches tall and have a great weight - they feel well build. I like the look of both vinyl figures - but it's almost too easy to fashion Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man after a marshmallow!

Alien Chestburster Apron - Value $10-15?

This month features a kitchen item as well - you'll get an Alien themed apron.

It's the normal length, but quality-wise, it feels a little thinner and less durable than a typical apron. That being said, this apron has a MAJOR advantage over other aprons:

You can reproduce your favorite Alien scene!

Supernatural Belt - Value $10?

They include a belt featuring Supernatural.

It's not the best quality belt and the belt buckle is just a sticker - so I'd imagine it could easily be damaged.

Hellboy Companion Trade Paperback - List Price $14.95 but it's pretty old so you can get it new for $8 on Amazon

The last item is this Hellboy companion paperback. MAJOR book/comic foul - this was bent around another item to fit into the box!

This is a cool item for Hellboy fans, though - or even someone just getting into Hellboy! It includes a ton of information on Hellboy, his enemies, and his world!

Verdict: I'm liking this month's Sci-Fan Box - the only item that I wasn't pleased with was the belt, but that was due to quality - if you're a Supernatural fan, you might still be happy with it. When I first saw the vinyl figure, I didn't think much of it, but after a closer look - I'm liking them and considering getting the rest of the collection!

You are not alone! I liked the movie. I thought it was hilarious but thought the show took itself too seriously. So there are at least two people who liked the movie.

I would buy this box INSTANTLY for the T-shirt alone, if it referenced the tv show. A Bronze shirt would be killer. Sorry, the movie holds no light compared to the tv show.

The shirt quotes the BTVS episode “Showtime.” I’m a huge fan of the show. The movie did nothing for me.

Love this box and I’m so glad I got it. Although that belt is pretty lame in my opinion. I love Supernatural so I’m pretty bummed that is all it is.

That vinyl figure is adorable! I might need to add them to my vinyl collection!

I was/am a MASSIVE Buffy fan so for me the shirt is amazing!

I love buffy too (so much!) and I ordered the crate just for the buffy item, since you can’t find that much buffy stuff. I like to shirt and I usually like designs that aren’t in your face with the reference but I feel like this shirt is a little too sneaky. It’s very hard to see that it’s a buffy item.
