We're starting a new monthly post highlighting our favorite discoveries from subscription boxes! Here are our favorite items from the past month:
Lindsey's Favorite:
The Item: 2014 Tora Bay Sauvignon Blanc
The Cost: $17.99
From: Wine Awesomeness (Limited Time Deal: Get a FREE bottle of bubbly with any prepaid Wine Awesomeness Membership, no coupon required, just use this link!)
Why I love it: I really loved all of the wines in January’s Wine Awesomeness box, but this Sauvignon Blanc was my favorite. The flavor was just great: vibrant and fruity (think tropical fruit salad) with a clean, crisp bite of acidity. Sauvignon Blanc is one of my favorite wines, and this bottle is one of the best I’ve had in a while. It was tasty, refreshing, and delicious!
Ragan's Favorite:
The Item: Cat Lady Squad Cat Ears Hoodie
The Cost: $37.99
From: CatLadyBox (Coupon: Use code OHMEOW10 to save 10% off your first box!)
Why I Love It: This hoodie is comfortable and fits well, plus it is great for layering this time of year. And it proclaims my love of cats (as does most of my casual weekend clothing…). I also liked CatLadyBox’s suggestion to zip a cat up inside the hoodie for warmth, although that didn’t end up working out so well.
Haley's Favorite:
The Item: Tarte Frxxxtion Stick Exfoliating Cleanser
The Cost: $22 for 1 oz
From: Play! by Sephora
Why I love it: I love trying new and innovating skincare products, and I had seen this new Tarte product around but didn't quite know what it was until I got to try it in my Play! by Sephora box this month. It's my new favorite thing! So, it's a twist-up stick gel cleanser that has suspended diatomaceous earth and Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea complex. It exfoliates and helps with oiliness, pores, dullness, and uneven texture. My favorite part about this product is just how different it is and how fun it is to use! Remove your makeup, wet your face, and apply the stick directly to your skin and apply to forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. Massage with your fingertips in a circular motion to exfoliate. Then, either rinse immediately or leave on for up to 10 minutes for a little mask treatment. Bonus: this all makes it perfect for traveling!
Bekki's Favorite:
The Item: Dolce Vita Collection Elise Tote
The Cost: $228.00
From: Ivory Clasp (Coupon: Use code IVORYCLASP to save 20% off your first month!)
Why I love it: I really loved my bag this month! It is 100% leather, which makes it actually worth the price it's valued at, appears to be really well made, is right up my alley for a fun tote bag, and it works great to take to a farmer's market or shopping as well. The little zippered pocket is what makes this tote great - I can keep all of my valuables zipped away, and still feel free to drop things in without unzipping the top! I love it.
Nancy S' Favorite:
The Item: Albanese 12 Flavor Gummi Bears
The Cost: $2.49
From: CampusCube for Girls (Coupon: For a limited time, save $5 off any order with code MSA5)
Why I love them: These are some of the best gummy bears I've ever eaten! They have the ideal texture and consistency: oh so soft, squishy, and chewy but not sticky. Some of the flavors are especially unique and delicious, like Mango and Pink Grapefruit. Plus, they're fat-free, so I'm totally justified in buying six more bags... right? Also good to know: Candy Club offers an array of Albanese gummies!
Jessica's Favorite:
The Item: Honeyed Grapefruit Hand Cream
The Cost: $22.00
From: Beekman 1802 Beauty Winter Box
Why I Love It: This moisturizer healed my dry scaly hands rapidly. It smelled divine like a freshly zested grapefruit with a touch of sweetness. It was bright and fresh and the scent lasted for hours.
Shawn's Favorite:
The Item: Humble Deodorant (Essential Lavender)
The Cost: $8.00
From: Wellness Tribe (Coupon: Save 15% off any subscription with code WELLNESSADDICTION15)
Why I love it: I've been looking for an all natural deodorant for a while. I feel good about the ingredient list (organic cornstarch, organic olive oil, organic beeswax, all natural baking soda, and organic essential oil), the smell is nice and not overwhelming, and it works well.
Nich's Favorite:
The Item: Pedi in a Box Ultimate 6 Step
The Cost: $10.00
From: SinglesSwag (Coupon: Save 10% off your first box with code ADDICTION)
Why I Love It: The distinctive aroma of the honey from my Pedi-in-a-box lingered on for a few days after I had used the products, which was a welcoming scent that I continue to enjoy. This kit left my feet smooth and relieved aches and pains.
Emily's Favorite:
The Item: Etro Crystal Sculpted Earrings
The Cost: $495. Switch is $49/month to rent 2 pieces at a time
From: Switch (Coupon: Save 50% off your first month with coupon code LOVEMSA)
Why I love them: The sculptural design of these earrings is beautiful! I liked them when I saw them in the Switch collection but thought they were really stunning in person. They aren't something I would wear every day which makes them great as a rental piece. Fancy!
Andy's Favorite:
The Item: I loved the whole box!
The Cost: Third Man Record Vault costs $60 per quarter (There’s a $20 option as well, but that doesn’t include the 12″ vinyl record)
From: Third Man Records Vault #30
Why I love it: It's a truly beautiful subscription series, from the well-thought-out protective packaging to the expertly curated music selections. I've been hooked on the Live from Disgraceland LP and even ended up purchasing some albums from William Tyler after hearing the songs on there. I definitely can't recommend this box enough.
Sara's Favorite:
The Item: Balinda Loafers in Blush
The Cost: retail $55.95 (VIP price: $39.95)
From: ShoeDazzle (Coupon:Get your first pair for $10 + free shipping or Get two pairs for $39.95 + free shipping!, no coupon required, just use this link)
Why I love them: These are the most beautiful shoes in my closet! They're blush (one of my favorite colors) and velvet, so aside from being on-trend, they are soft and comfortable to wear around all day. They will continue to be my go-to shoe throughout spring!
Anna Reilly's Favorite:
The Item: Honey Clay Facemask
The Cost: $7.00
From: Merkaela Winter Box (Coupon: Use code MSA10 to save 10% off your first box!)
Why I love it: This gooey mask made my tired winter skin feel soft, rejuvenated, and surprisingly clean. It doesn't dry or get hard like other masks I've used, so there's no tight feeling on your skin. Instead, it left my skin moist and smooth—I couldn't stop patting my soft cheeks afterward!
Lacey's Favorite:
The Item: Honest Bubble Bath, 12 oz
The Cost: $11.95 ($8.96 with the add-on discount when you subscribe)
From: The Honest Company Diapers and Wipes Bundle (Coupon: Get a trial Essentials kit for free + $5.95 shipping when you subscribe!, no coupon required, just use this link)
Why I love it: This is really my toddler's favorite pick of the month - he jumps up and down and points excitedly at this every time we get a bath, until I pour some in to make bubbles. Love the smell, the bubbles last a long time, and it doesn't seem to be overly drying or anything for his skin - we both love it!
Sarah's Favorite:
The Item: Carrot Muffin – Fruit Tea
The Cost: $11.47 ( for 2oz.)
From: Field to Cup (Coupon: Use code MSA10 to save $20 (65% off) on your first month when you subscribe to the Tea Discovery Plus box!)
Why I love it: I'm a big tea fan but this was a totally new blend for me because I've never tried a tea with carrot flavoring before. The blend itself is really beautiful too, with huge chunks of walnuts, almonds, coconut, and carrot. The combination of the fruits, nuts, and spices created a flavor reminiscent of carrot bread. This is definitely one of the more interesting teas I've had from this box and it's piqued my interest in other unexpected flavors.
Eric's Favorite:
The Item: Hoth Han Solo with Tauntaun
The Cost: Value $36 on POP Price Guide
From: Smuggler's Bounty
Why I love it: I love this item because of it's unique sculpt - I've been waiting for a Star Wars POP like this one! This is easily the best POP that I own - and I have 400+ POPs!
Liz's Favorite:
The Item: Julep Boost Your Radiance Reparative Rosehip Seed Facial Oil
The Cost: $36
From: Julep Maven (Coupon: Use this link and coupon code FREEFALL at checkout to add the 12 piece Beauty Set to your cart.)
Why I love it: This oil is a light, moisturizing formula that feels fabulous on my skin, and it absorbs pretty quickly, too. (Plus it has a sweet, citrusy scent!)
You can use this day or night in place of a serum, and you can even add a drop or two to a liquid foundation for a more dewy finish.
I've been using it daily since I got my January Julep Maven box, and it's been perfect for my dry skin, too!
