I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box.

Note: Pretty much every item in this box is exclusive so I have taken the values from the information card.

Kitty Cat Hair Pins – Listed Value $8.99

These will show up great against my black hair! They are completely sturdy and not flimsy at all, too!

Cat Lady Squad Cat Ears Hoodie – Listed Value $37.99

I actually needed a warm, zip-up sweatshirt that would be good for layering, so this came along at the perfect time. I wore it over a thinner long-sleeved t-shirt and under my winter coat while we were out grocery shopping in sub-freezing weather and it was perfect.

The information card suggested zipping it up with a cat inside (head sticking out) for extra warmth. This was the best I could do. Yes, I have smaller cats, but they would’ve injured me…

And here it is with the ears up!

cat-lady-box-january-2017-socks-front

cat-lady-box-january-2017-socks-back

Fuzzy Cat Socks – Listed Value $9.99

These are warm and pretty cute, too. I tend to prefer fuzzy socks to slippers around the house because they cover up my ankles, as well.

cat-lady-box-january-2017-toys

Meowcha Latte Catnip Toy – Listed Value $5.99

Soft Kitty Catnip Toy – Listed Value $4.99

Since I get the Crazy Cat Lady version of this box, there were some toys for the cats, as well. They’ve been doing a lot of custom toys lately, which is fun. These are a good size for my guys and gal, as they tend to prefer smaller catnip toys.

Monkey and Sneaky explore the box.

Mr. Kitty and Monkey pose for the camera.

FYI, regarding Mr. Kitty’s squinty eye. He has this thing called a corneal sequestrum, which is a grouping of dead cells in the eye. Normally a cat would have surgery to remove this but the veterinary ophthalmologist recommended against that because of his other health issues. The sequestrum has (naturally) been pushed towards the front of the eye over a period of several months and it is now in the process of being shed. This is why he has eye discharge and is squinting. We do have pain medicine and are giving it to him as needed. But we expect him to continue looking like this for a little while until the sequestrum is all gone.

Although it is difficult to tell, Madison was actually rubbing his chin and cheek on the toys in these pictures.

Monkey has NO IDEA I put that toy around his tail.

Monkey sniffs the kitty toy.

Sneaky investigates one of the toys.

And she claims the box as her own by rubbing her chin on it!

Mr. Kitty is not a happy camper (see health note above). But he did at least pose for the camera! Sort of.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $67.95 for the January 2017 (Crazy) Cat Lady Box. Of course, I had to take all those values from the information card, but I definitely feel the value is greater than the cost of the box. The main item (hoodie) was actually something I really needed, and I will use everything from the box. This one was another win for us!

This was my favorite Crazy Cat Lady Box to date! Love, love, love the hoodie and socks! Perfect for this cold weather! And of course, the kitties love the catnip toys and the box everything came in! Thanks!

Is it too late to get this box or will we get next month’s box? I really want that hoodie!

BJ

You can buy the hoodie separately.

I am pretty sure they only ship once a month so you are probably out of luck on the hoodie if you subscribe. However, you should definitely check their shop (click on one of the links to their site to get to the shop as well) as they sometimes have items from the boxes available individually in there. Or one might show up on the swap site.

Mr. Kitty is so lucky to have such a loving mommy. How old is he? Even with his health he still appears to be a happy catter, probably because he is so well loved. My kitties, Leeloo and Louie, wish yours a Happy New Year!

Mr. Kitty is 12. I have had him since he was 2 months old. He has had IBD for the last four years or so. (It is the prednisolone for his IBD that causes his eye herpes to act up which has led to his glaucoma, uveitis, ulcers, corneal sequestrum, and assorted other eye problems. Unfortunately, discontinuing the prednisolone is not possible or he will stop eating, among other issues.)

He would say hi back but he is upstairs underneath the bedspread sleeping right now!

Oh this box is so cute! I’d love to subscribe, but I have a visually impaired kitty who also has chewing restrictions ( an injured rescue) so none of the toys or munchies are appropriate for him. But your kitties are beautiful! And that hoodie is awesome!

Mr. Kitty can barely see and has bad teeth (can’t do anything about them because of his other medical issues; I’ve talked to the vet about this — I puree his wet food with water and he drinks it).

But, my other three cats are healthy so they are up for pretty much whatever.

This box doesn’t typically send treats. You can get a version of the box without the cat toys if you’d like.

Really, no toys? Ok! I’m going to check this out. So you too know what it’s like to work with a special needs kitty. I love my guy but he’s a handful sometimes- but I understand and what’s a few scratches between friends? I have to do mouth care and clean his one eye socket, and he really hates that!
