LuxePineapple-Post-February-2017-Info-Card

Each box includes an info card. Usually, there is also a letter from the owner that elaborates on the reasons behind curating each item, but I do not see it this month. I hope they haven't gotten rid of it for good because I thought it was a valuable inclusion to the box!

LuxePineapple-Post-February-2017-Starlooks-Highlighter

Starlooks Liquid Highlighter 0.17 oz - Value $12

This liquid highlighter has a smooth, runny consistency that's easy to work with and super blendable. It is a shimmery light gold shade that gives my skin a natural but noticeable glow. It comes with a slanted applicator usually seen in lip balms, but it is perfectly designed for applying this product. I have been using this mostly over my cheekbones and in the inner corner of my eyes. The shade goes beautifully with my warm skin tone!

Starlooks Velveteen Lip Crayon in Mauvetopia, 2.5 g - Value $19

This is a lip crayon with a velveteen-matte finish. I received Mauveopia, a mauve shade that pulls more blue or red depending on the lighting. The color looks grayer in the tube than when swatched. One swipe across the lips give me full opacity, which is awesome. It also leaves a subtle purple stain behind when removed. The formula is neither drying nor moisturizing, but I can wear it comfortably for many hours. The color starts looking a little uneven after a light meal, but reapplication is easy.

Starlooks Black Eyeliner Pencil - Value $8?

This item is a bit of a mystery. The info card lists this as the Black Liner Pen, which according to Starlooks' website is a felt-tipped liquid eyeliner and not what I received. There is no info on the pencil itself other than the words "HEP1 NOIR." This also seems to be a deluxe-sized item.

Now, on to the actual product. This is a matte black eyeliner pencil. The formula is soft and pigmented, and one swipe is all I need to get bold, black color. However, the staying power is average. It can't withstand my oily lids and smudges after a few hours. I think I will stick to my tried-and-true Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner for now.

LuxePineapple-Post-February-2017-Rollerball

LuxePineapple-Post-February-2017-Rollerball-Closeup

Demeter Fragrance Royal Apricot Perfume Oil Rollerball, 0.29 oz - Listed Value $12

I adore Demeter! Royal Apricot is a singular scent of bright, juicy apricot. It is a limited edition perfume from the Winter Collection but I can definitely wear this year round. While I don't have a go-to scent, this one may come very close. I will try layering it with other scent families like vanilla and light musk to see what I else can do with this beautiful fragrance.

LuxePineapple-Post-February-2017-Sleep-Mask-Front

LuxePineapple-Post-February-2017-Sleep-Mask-Back

LuxePineapple-Post-February-2017-Sleep-Mask-Closeup

Mulberry Silk Sleep Mask - Listed Value $20

This is a soft silk sleep mask with an adjustable elastic strap. Everything about this mask is great! It is wider and softer than any of the ones I currently own. The strap can also accommodate a range of sizes, which is great for my boyfriend and his wide head. In fact, he says this is the most comfortable and well-fitting mask he has ever worn!

Verdict: This is one of my favorite months of LuxePineapple Post ever! There wasn't much information on the Starlooks eyeliner, but the amazing silk sleep mask more than makes up for any confusion or disappointment there. Plus, the Demeter perfume oil is the best fragrance discovery I have had in a while. The estimated retail value is $71, which is nearly three times the cost of the box.

Thank you for swatching the makeup! I didn’t think I’d like it until I saw it swatched! Now I’m excited to play with the products. Otherwise I would have donated them or something. I love Luxe Pineapple and Liz the owner is SO awesome. There are some months that aren’t up my ally, but the ones that are just knock it out of the park for me so I will probably subscribe forever. 😀

After seeing an awesome dec and Jan, I signed up but this box lacked something. I only like the mask and roll on perfume. With the mask I would have thought there would be more matching Beauty items for rest or relaxation . Will give it one more month.

thats what i thought. The was a fun idea to curate the rest of the box from. They could have done a lot with it. Yet mask with apricot perfume was not a good combo. Mask with maybe a musk scent rollerball perfume to make it a night out box. Or even some relaxing lavender and tea and going with the sleep theme.

I love Demeter, too! Definitely looking to swap for that roller ball!

This box was a complete miss for me. I loved last month’s box, which is why I signed up.

Same. I signed up because of last month’s review on here. I’ll give it another month before I cancel and see where it goes…

Me too, I didn’t like this month. I didn’t like the perfume scent but I love Demeter. Starlooks isn’t for me either, I tried the lip color and hated it.

Starlooks used to have their own very inexpensive monthly subscription. Their products aren’t bad but aren’t exactly anything to write home about either. They’re basically like any generic/house brand cosmetics and come across as cheap filler to me, particularly when they comprise this much of the box. One eyeliner is one thing; three products in a single, non-takeover box is too much. I like Demeter fragrances but this one was definitely not for me. It reminded me of room scent spray when I tried it. Since I’ve never been tempted to hose myself down with a can of Glade from the bathroom, this wasn’t going to be a hit. Here’s hoping we see a much better March.

I agree. This box was a total miss for me when it came to the beauty items. The lipstick comes out really purple and I’m pale so it looks really goth on me. The highlighter was completely watery and unusable even though I shook it up. I don’t wear black liner. I was so happy with the previous two boxes that I was surprised this one was so disappointing. I’ll give them a few more months then reassess my subscription. I prefer a natural look with neutrals.

.

I listed all the items up for swap. The box seemed odd to me, black sleep mask and an apricot rollon. Still can not get some of the items swapped. The value is high, yet the curation confused me and was a complete miss. I liked last months box better.
