There were A LOT of items packed into this limited edition box. As promised, the items were centralized around the man himself - Stan Lee.
It includes a card that lists out every item in your box.
Stan Lee Shirt - Value $15?
As always, you'll get an exclusive shirt in your block. And, as promised, this one features Stan Lee himself. I like the caricature quite a bit, especially with the silver glasses - but he almost looks a bit like the KFC Colonel on the red background - maybe it's just me!
Excelsior Coin w/ Comic Insert - Value $10?
They include a metal coin that sits in a comic cell insert. You can't really see much of the comic cell and it looks like it's the same across every coin since this is the same as what is pictured on the card.
It's got a really nice weight to it since it's a metal coin.
Friends and Fans of Stan Lee Pack - Value ?
This one was a little confusing - it's a little packaged featuring a pin, letter, and card as an honorary member of the Friends and Fans of Stan Lee club.
I'm not sure if there are ongoing perks - but this is a new or non-existent fan club since the card states that you're a founding member. Unfortunately, the letter is not hand-signed.
Excelsior Lapel Pin - Value $5-10?
You'll also receive a small lapel pin featuring Stan's famous phrase - Excelsior!
This will be similar to the monthly pins you'll receive in a geek box for you multi-box subscribers out there!
Stan Lee Button Set - Value $10?
For the true believers out there, you can spice up your button-down shirt with an exclusive Stan Lee button set.
These are little, hard plastic, buttons to sew onto your shirt in place of your existing buttons.
Excelsior Replica Ring and Collector Box - Value $25-30?
The value on this is just a complete guess - but the ring itself is nicely constructed.
If you're looking to wear this, you'll have to just hope it fits your finger as there was no size selection. This one fit over my pinky!
Stan Lee Sodaz Figure - Value $10-15?
We had received our first-ever Sodaz figure in the November Nerd Block, so we knew a little more of what to expect when we saw this spoiler.
It can come out of the leg holster and self-balance.
We discovered one thing that we hadn't with the Tina Belcher Sodaz figure - the bottom unscrews so you can store away items.
I love me some vinyl figures - but the Sodaz line is a bit beyond me.
POW Ocarina - Value $10?
My first thought - why is there an Ocarina in the box? My thought process is still kind of there, but the card lists it so that you can create your own superhero song.
It's branded on both side and includes directions on how to play it.
Stan Lee Sketchbook - Value $15?
This might be my favorite item in the box - it's a perfect inclusion of a Stan Lee box and it's super practical!
It's a simple sketchbook for doodling the next superhero or villain.
The cover is embossed with the another Stan Lee caricature.
The Inhumans #1 Special Edition - Value $5.99 + Exclusive Variant
You'll get a reprint of The Inhumans #1 with an exclusive variant cover created by Kris Anka.
Inside is the original comic in all its glory. Get ready for The Inhumans TV series this year!
Stan Lee Print - Value $10?
The final item in the box was an exclusive print done by Francisco Herrera.
I love the art style of this print - combined with the fact that Stan Lee is web slinging!
Verdict: I was disappointed with this limited edition box from Nerd Block - and their track record for exclusive boxes is now pretty bad. While I liked the shirt and sketchpad, there was nothing in here that felt truly special to me. I was hoping to receive something hand-signed by Stan but instead got a confusing Ocarina - overall, I wasn't wowed by any single item and that was disappointing in itself.
