When you sign up for a subscription, you let MistoBox know what type of coffee you’d like to receive and how often you’d like to receive it. They then pair you up with a “coffee curator” who learns your preferences and picks coffee to suit your taste and budget.

Here’s a screenshot of my preferences. I’ve opted to receive lightly roasted deluxe blends and single origin coffees once every 4 weeks. Keep in mind that the coffee I receive is picked for me based on my personal preferences— your shipment might be totally different!

Information about my coffee pick for this month came printed on a sticker on the inside of the box.

Panther Coffee Nicaragua Finca La Amistad - Value $16.50 for 12 oz.

This month, my coffee curator picked out Panther Coffee’s Finca La Amistad for me. Panther is a specialty roaster based in Miami, and this is my first time trying their coffee. These beans were grown at 1200 MASL and fully washed.

My curator picked this coffee for me because it’s lightly roasted, bright, and fruity.

I was desperate for a coffee when this box arrived, so I brewed up a big pot using my drip brewer. It’s bright, interesting, and smooth with a clean finish. The flavor is very fruity, and Panther pinpoints notes of peach, apricot, and dried cherries. I really like it!

Verdict: MistoBox has been on a roll lately— every coffee I’ve received in the last few months has been perfectly tailored to my palate! I love discovering new coffees and new roasters, and it’s great having freshly roasted beans delivered directly to my door. In terms of value, I paid $18.99 and I received $16.50 worth of coffee. Considering the level of personalized curation and the fact that I’d need to pay shipping if I ordered this coffee myself, I’m very happy with the value.
