Horror Block doesn't typically have themes, but you'll know 2-3 franchises in the box when the subscription period opens up.

Each month will come with a card that details every item in the box.

The block comes with a $10 voucher to the Nerd Block eStore – these will allow you to get a bonus shirt, or Funko POP, for the cost of shipping. Free to the first reader that uses it!

It looks like they are no longer including the $10 ShirtPunch voucher – but the inventory is pretty much the same since Nerd Block runs ShirtPunch.

Quija Shirt - Value $15?

This month's shirt features the classic "board game" Ouija. You can pair this with the Ouija mousepad from October 2015 and the Ouija money clip from October 2016.

Nightmare on Elm St. Freddy Flask - Value $10?

The featured item of the month was a flask featuring Freddy's classic sweater and slash marks.

While I'm not sure of the exact numbers of ounces that it holds - it seems like the typical size flask.

American Horror Story Crying Nun Pencil Holder - Value $10-15?

This one isn't marked as exclusive, but I also haven't had any luck finding it on the internet so I'm doing a ballpark value estimation.

This little porcelain mug/pencil holder features the crying nun made famous in season 2, Asylum.

Baphomet LED Candle - Value $10-15?

The next item is exclusive to the box. It's not an homage to any franchise, it's just an LED candle.

horror-block-december-2016-0016

horror-block-december-2016-0017

It's not too bright of a light - but I don't find many of these LED candles bright enough.

Here's a look inside at the mini LED light.

Army of Darkness Mouse Pad - Value $5-10?

The final item (besides the monthly Rue Morgue) features Army of Darkness.

horror-block-december-2016-0024

This is your typical mousepad, but you'll have to use it in the way that would be untraditional for a mousepad - vertical - if you want to show off the movie poster in all its glory.

horror-block-december-2016-0026

Rue Morgue – $9.95

As always, they include an issue of Rue Morgue. If you’re a fan or Rue Morgue, then you really win out on this subscription because it covers the cost of shipping to the US!

Verdict: Outside of the Freddy flask and the mousepad, the franchises featured this month were outside of my wheelhouse. But, you can't win them all, and I'm sure there are subscribers where this hit the perfect notes. While this isn't a hit for me, personally, it still easily covers the cost of the box - especially when you factor in Rue Morgue covering your shipping cost.

Eric, you wanna check out Fright Crate!! It’s a new Horror themed crate on the market, I have just subbed to January’s crate and that is the 4th so check out the other 3 on YouTube!
Also, find them on Facebook as they regularly interact with their customers and ask your input as to what you’d like….don’t forget to tell them Jay Steels sent ya! 🙂

I don’t get this box but I love Nightmare on Elm Street! I like everyone’s suggestion that it should be actual sweater material – like a koozie for the flask. 🙂

I also would like the Oujia board shirt! And I recently read “The Girl with all the Gifts” and enjoyed it.

I haven’t even received my box yet. Glad to know I’ll be disappointed with the contents this month. I’m not sure where everyone lives but it seems I don’t receive my Horror box until the middle of the following month. Not very timely. Overall I’ve enjoyed my boxes, but lately they’ve not been great and getting them so late is pushing me to cancel.

Thats why I cancelled mine! I’m in the UK and when they used Canada Post they took 3/6 days, then they switched to DHL and it took 10/20 days. I complained numerous times and they just fobbed me off so I cancelled my Classic, Horror, Sci-fi & Arcade…the more who do it the more they’ll listen!!

They should include a horror dvd in their boxes too. I think that would make me subscribe.. The shipping is so high that for this price I get loot wear, tees, and socks. I buy the crates when they go on sale..Anyhow, DVD’s are so cheap and it would be fun to see what movie comes each month..

Guess it’s possible they could do that seeing out the Magazine is suppose to be going bi monthly. they could do a book or movie ever other month.

Bill

They sometimes throw movies in the block. I agree they should each month, I’m old school so I enjoy getting movies.

My only issue was after the flask being on back order in October, Would have felt that it would be something more than a sticker around the flask.

Eric

While I did enjoy the flask – I was hoping with was going to be actual sweater material around it.

Glad to hear someone else felt like it should have been sweater material. Even the original teaser made it look more than what was received. however it goes well with my other flasks
