Horror Block doesn't typically have themes, but you'll know 2-3 franchises in the box when the subscription period opens up.

Each month will come with a card that details every item in the box.

Each month comes with $10 vouchers to both ShirtPunch and the brand new Nerd Block eStore. They guarantee the ShirtPunch voucher but not the eStore - so I'm not sure it will always be the case that you receive both.

Halloween T-Shirt - Value $15?

This month's shirt features Michael Myers. While I've never been the biggest fan of the Halloween franchise, I do really like the design of the shirt this month! It has that high school football team logo vibe going for it.

The Walking Dead Journal - Value $13 on Amazon

They sent out a journal that features The Walking Dead - I got the Rick Grimes version. From the card, it looks like you could have received a Michonne or Walker version as well.

horror-block-october-2016-0015

This is a hardcover journal with a faux leather cover. It also has a hidden pocket on the back cover flap.

horror-block-october-2016-0016

The paper is standard, but overall I think it's a really nice item!

horror-block-october-2016-0010

Dexter Syringe Pen - Value $5-10?

Dexter makes an appearance in this month's box. This is a liquid-filled syringe pen wit ha Dexter logo, nothing too special.

horror-block-october-2016-0012

Seeing this brought back some great Dexter memories!

horror-block-october-2016-0008

Doug Bradley Autograph - Value ?

This month had a special autograph from the actor who played your favorite Cenobite - Doug Bradley!

horror-block-october-2016-0009

Pinhead and his Cenobite crew are some of my favorite horror icons - Hellraiser is one of the very few horror movies that I'll stop and watch if I find it on tv.

horror-block-october-2016-0022

Quija Money Clip - $15?

The final exclusive item is a money clip shaped like the Quija indicator.

horror-block-october-2016-0023

I have lots of childhood memories with this as well - they probably all go along with light as a feather, stiff as a board.

horror-block-october-2016-0028

Demonic Toys DVD - Value $6.50 on Amazon

The final item is a DVD featuring the B-movie Demonic Toys.

horror-block-october-2016-0029

This actually gets pretty good reviews on Amazon! Toys of any kind are frightening in all horror movies, so I can see why this would work. I can't erase the Poltergeist scene with the clown doll from my memory - so I'm not sure if I'm looking to add more!

horror-block-october-2016-0024

Rue Morgue - $9.95

As always, they include an issue of Rue Morgue. If you're a fan or Rue Morgue, then you really win out on this subscription because it covers a ton of value!

Verdict: There wasn't a big hero item for me this month, which left me feeling like this month was average. But, I do like a lot of the items, so the value is there for me, personally. I'm really kind of torn this month - no big wow moments, but a lot of items that were usable and nice.

Are you kidding me? Doug Bradley signature? Is it authentic!?! If so, that is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!!! I’m so jealous!

The Dexter Pen and the Ouija money clip were promo giveaway items I picked up at conventions. They literally have no value. The movie is awful. And the missing flask was a deal breaker. I cancelled my subscription and had to argue with them to get a refund, which they grudgingly gave me. My first attempt with customer service they told me to buy another box to get my flask. Unacceptable. I will never buy from this company again.

I liked the box overall. The journal, movie, shirt, and autograph are good but maybe I expected a bit more for the Halloween box like a double item or more valued item. The magazine is always good. I have subscribed for almost a year and this is becoming the norm. We were supposed to get a Freddy Flask but were emailed about shipping issues with the item. My biggest concern about this block is the late arrival. I received my box in November.

I was super bummed not to receive the Freddy flask, that’s literally the only reason why I ordered this box. I won’t be getting the December box because CS was super rude. I was also really hoping for a cooler dexter item because I love dexter. I already have syringe pens and I thought it was kind of lame.

Tamara

Oh my, I think I need that Dexter pen.

I’ve seen them at Party City and Spirit Halloween stores.

Pretty bummed about not receiving the Freddy Flask that was the big ticket item this month as I don’t feel like a Walking Dead journal was a good replacement for such a cool & exclusive item having to be replaced. I know it’s not their fault but hey, ship it when you do have it, we paid for it with the October box right? I feel bad for people who only got 1 box knowing about the spoiler and then they didn’t get it. Well I guess I’m in the same boat as my 3mos sub is up and I won’t be getting the Dec box they promised it will be in. Disappointing for sure.
