Horror Block doesn't typically have themes, but you'll know 2-3 franchises in the box when the subscription period opens up.
Each month will come with a card that details every item in the box.
Each month comes with $10 vouchers to both ShirtPunch and the brand new Nerd Block eStore. They guarantee the ShirtPunch voucher but not the eStore - so I'm not sure it will always be the case that you receive both.
Halloween T-Shirt - Value $15?
This month's shirt features Michael Myers. While I've never been the biggest fan of the Halloween franchise, I do really like the design of the shirt this month! It has that high school football team logo vibe going for it.
The Walking Dead Journal - Value $13 on Amazon
They sent out a journal that features The Walking Dead - I got the Rick Grimes version. From the card, it looks like you could have received a Michonne or Walker version as well.
This is a hardcover journal with a faux leather cover. It also has a hidden pocket on the back cover flap.
The paper is standard, but overall I think it's a really nice item!
Dexter Syringe Pen - Value $5-10?
Dexter makes an appearance in this month's box. This is a liquid-filled syringe pen wit ha Dexter logo, nothing too special.
Seeing this brought back some great Dexter memories!
Doug Bradley Autograph - Value ?
This month had a special autograph from the actor who played your favorite Cenobite - Doug Bradley!
Pinhead and his Cenobite crew are some of my favorite horror icons - Hellraiser is one of the very few horror movies that I'll stop and watch if I find it on tv.
Quija Money Clip - $15?
The final exclusive item is a money clip shaped like the Quija indicator.
I have lots of childhood memories with this as well - they probably all go along with light as a feather, stiff as a board.
Demonic Toys DVD - Value $6.50 on Amazon
The final item is a DVD featuring the B-movie Demonic Toys.
This actually gets pretty good reviews on Amazon! Toys of any kind are frightening in all horror movies, so I can see why this would work. I can't erase the Poltergeist scene with the clown doll from my memory - so I'm not sure if I'm looking to add more!
Rue Morgue - $9.95
As always, they include an issue of Rue Morgue. If you're a fan or Rue Morgue, then you really win out on this subscription because it covers a ton of value!
Verdict: There wasn't a big hero item for me this month, which left me feeling like this month was average. But, I do like a lot of the items, so the value is there for me, personally. I'm really kind of torn this month - no big wow moments, but a lot of items that were usable and nice.
