The Glamorous Chicks Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box from Glamorous Chicks Cosmetics, producers of lots of fun colors of lipstick, loose powder pigments, cosmetic glitter, and more, in lots of fun, bold, and sometimes unconventional colors.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Subscription Box: Glamorous Chicks Beauty Box
The Cost: $25 (new price)
LIMITED TIME DEAL: Use code GCB2017 to save 15% off your first box (one time purchases only)
The Products: 3 Glamorous Chicks beauty products of your choice, including loose mineral pigments, liquid lipsticks, loose glitter, and more, as well as a few extras (sometimes from other brands). Occasionally there may be products from up-and-coming brands, as well.
Good to Know: A week or two before the box ships out, you will get an e-mail allowing you to choose three items from among lipsticks, lip glosses, mascaras, loose powder pigments, and glitters. Be on the lookout for this and be sure to respond in a timely manner as the box will be much more customized to your taste if you do. (They may substitute if something is out of stock, but the substitutions they have chosen are really super close to what I originally picked, so I am happy.) This email doesn’t come at a consistent time every month, though.
Ships to: U.S. (was free when I signed up; some MSA readers are reporting a $3.99 shipping charge for new sign-ups)

Sometimes you’ll get a card with example lipstick colors. It’s more promotional material than information card.
Silver-Tone Spike Stretch Bracelet – Value $5?
I do believe this is the first time I’ve received a piece of jewelry in this subscription box. It’s a little unusual, but Glamorous Chicks Cosmetics is all about having a bold style (just look at some of the lipstick colors) and this fits in with that image.
This didn’t have a brand name and I can’t find the exact item anywhere for sale online, but it is plastic. The value I’ve listed above is an estimate based on similar items made from similar materials.
8 g Glamorous Chicks Eye Primer – Value $14.99
I did not realize Glamorous Chicks made an eye primer but my tube of UDPP is getting low so I figured I would try it. (This is an item I selected.) I prefer eye primers you apply with a fingertip so that works for me. I think it helps avoid creasing and the loose powder shadows stick to it pretty well.
Here is the bracelet on. This is not my usual style (I have a desk job and can’t imagine trying to type with it on) but I think it would be fun for weekends sometimes.
Super Gloss (pomegranate, 0.4 oz) – Value $14
This is made in the USA. It is pretty pigmented for a gloss (swatch below) and will be good for me on days when I want to tone down my look a bit (yeah, this is toned down for me).
This is a private label item. I found it on quite a few different websites at different prices, but I’ve picked the lowest U.S.-based price I could find.
Absolute! Make-up Cleansing Tissues with Vitamin C (10 pack) – Value $1
I’ve gotten a packet of these every month for the past three or so months, but that is OK. They are a useful item and they don’t irritate my eyes.
Eyeshadow Brush – Value $1?
This doesn’t have a brand name on it. I almost missed it and only found it later on, when I was cleaning up subscription box packaging from my living room. I like getting brushes because it means I can go longer without washing brushes. These are pretty good for the whole eyelid or for highlighting the brow bone.
2.35 g Shimmer Powder in “Autumn” (left) – Value $14.95
2.35 g Shimmer Powder in “Arend” (right) – Value $14.95
I also chose these two eyeshadow colors this month. Most years, I try to pan an eyeshadow palette. This year, I thought I would just make a goal of using my loose mineral eyeshadows every weekday (I have a ton, thanks to this subscription and Orglamix). But colors like these two were missing from my collection so I am using my monthly Glamorous Chicks choices to fill in some gaps. I like the formula and the pigments are pretty bold (but blendable).
Here are swatches of the lip gloss, “Arend,” and “Autumn.” The gloss is pretty thick in the picture and isn’t quite that bright on the lips.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $65.89 for this month’s Glamorous Chicks Beauty Box. That is another very good value for this box. I actually think the average value has increased from when I started reviewing this subscription. I like that you can choose three of your items and that you get some fun (if somewhat random) extras. I am definitely a fan of the eyeshadow formula (and lipstick, too, I just didn’t choose any this month). I also applaud Glamorous Chicks for making some changes to upgrade their e-commerce site and subscription site; I think things are working a lot more smoothly now than they did earlier last year.
