Candy Club is a candy subscription that sends 2-3 pounds of premier, brand name candy directly to your door each month. Each box contains four different kinds of candy, and Candy Club offers both a curated box and a custom box.

Candy-Club-January-2017-Box-Open

I’m subscribed to the custom box, which allows me to select my three main candies every month. (FYI- I’m able to choose three out of the four candies I receive in every box. The loose, individually-wrapped candies are always a surprise.)

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review of Candy Club’s Custom, $27.99, box.

Each candy had its own information card with a photo of the candy, its name and on the reverse side nutritional information and an ingredients list.

Candy-Club-January-2017-Hearts

Albanese Sour Gummy Hearts

These red and white hearts were so fresh and plump. I ordered these because I thought they’d be perfect for Valentine’s Day and they are. They were nice and sweet with just the tiniest hint of sour.

Candy-Club-January-2017-Hugs&Kisses

Albanese Gummy Hugs & Kisses

These hugs and kisses are also perfect for Valentine’s Day and the pastel colors are very pretty. The flavors are grape, strawberry, and pineapple. These were very chewy and fresh.

Candy-Club-January-2017-Bears

Albanese All Natural Flavored & Colored Gummi Bears

I was excited to try these sugar-coated gummi bears which are flavored and colored using fruits and vegetables. They did not disappoint. They come in six flavors: strawberry, apple, cherry, lemon, orange, and grape. These were my favorite candy I selected this month.

Candy-Club-January-2017-Taffy

Sweet’s Sour Apple Totally Taffy

Taffy was the loose uncustomized candy this month These sour apple taffy candies were firm, but not hard. They had a strong sour apple flavor and were not as sticky as most taffy I’ve had before. They were reminiscent of Laffy Taffy.

Verdict: This was my first month trying Candy Club and I have to say what a treat it was having a box filled with brightly colored candy show up on the doorstep! I don’t know who was more excited to open the box, me or the kids. It’s hard to put a value on this subscription since gummi candy in bulk could be bought cheaper, but I found this comparable to what I would pay at the fancy loose candy shop at our local mall and much more convenient. This was a fun box and I’m excited to pick new candies next month!

I don’t like their taffy – I tried chocolate and this sour apple and I think they are both blah.

Did you by chance get a legal notice for this company?

I can’t figure out how to choose your candies. I mean, I figured it out my first month… but now it’s my second month… do they curate it for you after the first month and just send it to you? If you get to choose, will someone kindly help me out 🙂 I can’t even log onto the site! It has me do a magic link or some nonsense. I had to call just to ask them to bump me down from the 6 candies I’d signed up for (like a crazed sugar hound!) back down to 3! It took me 2 days to get through to someone. =/ I love the idea and fun of the candy, and it’s really delightful to have it come, and it smells GREAT when you open it! But the site really should be more user-oriented, it’s quite bothersome to have to call them for every little thing.

They will send you an email with a link when it’s time to choose. But be on the lookout because you only have like 3 days or something before they will create one for you. I HATE the magic link thing and how non user friendly the site it. They now require you to call to cancel (I was able to email last time and re-subbed for the 6 for 3 deal) too. I think I’m going to cancel for good after this sub is up….too much hassle.

I chose two of the same candies this month – the gummy hearts and the hugs and kisses. I hope my bonus extra is the same as yours. I love Sweet’s salt water taffy!
