Dia & Co. Subscription Box Review – December 2016

Dia & Co. is a monthly clothing styling subscription service for plus sizes. When I signed up for the service, I filled out a fairly in-depth questionnaire about my likes and dislikes, my size, my price range, and other questions that might help my stylist. Every month my stylist sends five pieces for me to try out. The service fee is $20 per month, but that fee is applied to any item I decide to keep. Additionally, there is a 20% discount if I decide to keep all five pieces!

FYI - My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your package from Dia & Co. may be completely different!

This is the note I received from my stylist this month, Brielle, explaining why she chose each item. I think this is the first month I've had Brielle as my stylist. I am so happy she looked at my Pinterest board to get a better sense of my style!

This is the invoice for the items they sent this month. It shows each item and the cost to keep, plus the cost of the items totaled. Then at the bottom, it shows the total with the styling fee credited and the 20% discount for keeping all five items. The discount this month would be $62.56 if I kept all five items. That's a deep discount!

The Boyfriend Jean by Fashion to Figure - Cost to Keep $42.90

The top in this picture is from Gwynnie Bee, not from Dia, but I had to wear it for a couple of reasons. First, the jeans did not fit at all, and this top camouflages that fairly well. At the same time, I wanted you to be able to see as much of the jeans as possible. They are cute, but they just don't fit. I'm not in the market for jeans at the moment, so I don't think I'm interested in exchanging for a different size, either.

Joleen V-Neck Tunic by Leota - Cost to Keep $58

I didn't think I would like this top, but I actually really like the colors on me. I also like the cut and the fabric. I just don't like the pattern. Hmm... Not sure about this one...

Tori Ponte Pant by Lysse - Cost to Keep $78

I absolutely love these pants, and I think every plus size woman should own at least one pair. I already have a pair of this exact pant, and I'm still considering keeping these. They're a bit long, but having stuff hemmed is the name of the game when it comes to buying myself pants and jeans. I got these a few months ago from a Wantable Style Edit, and they are just incredibly supportive. I have never felt anything like them! It's like wearing your favorite yoga pants to the office.

Finley Waist Wrap Shawl by Fashion to Figure - Cost to Keep $44.90

I really wanted to love this sweater. It's huge and comfy and super warm! It's just not my style.

Ella Dress by Junarose - Cost to Keep $89

The best thing about this picture is the earrings I am wearing from Hang Squad. That and my hair blowing in the wind. This dress does nothing for me! Black dresses are supposed to be flattering. I usually love Junarose, but I can't imagine ever wearing this.

Verdict: Dia & Co. is one of my favorite subscription boxes! I m always so happy when I receive my Dia box in the mail! This month there were a couple of misses, but that happens sometimes. I think it's kind of rare with any styling subscription to absolutely love everything in the box, but it has happened before with Dia. I just can't decide about that sweater! In any case, it's always super fun to try everything on, and I love that my stylist always pays attention to my feedback. I also find that Dia usually has the most reasonably priced clothing of any plus-size styling service I have tried. It makes a big difference!

What do you think of Dia & Co.? What pieces did you get this month?

I thought the floral tunic and black pant outfit looked wonderful! I’ve only received a few boxes myself and yes, there are hits and misses. I wish they would look at my Pinterest (KissinNthaRain) bc I’m on there quite a bit. My favorite pieces that I kept were the forest green Dakota lace sweetheart neckline dress, black lace sweetheart neckline Lotus dress, and the Society+ gold sequin leggings.

I was going to say no on the shawl, since you said you “want to love it.” But then I see how much everyone likes it so I took another look. Those are your colors, and the price is good enough to consider keeping it and learning to work with it. I agree with just about every comment you made – the jeans don’t fit, the black dress probably looks like such a winner on the hanger, but it doesn’t fit you well. The black pants are great, so long as you think it’s worth the price to have a second pair of the same thing. But that tunic – I feel like it would have looked like a scrub top on the hanger, but it looks great on you! The winner of this box!

Please do not send the shawl back. You look so pretty in it and if it’s warm and comfy that’s batting 1000!

I think the shawl looks great but if you don’t love it: send it back.

I really want those black pants!!!

That shawl is AMAZING! I may go look for it. I know you said it is not your style, but you look fabulous in it

Lola EB

The shawl is your style because it looks great. I say keep it.

Anna, I’m going to join the chorus saying you should keep the shaw. It looks so pretty on you and I think you’d find it’s quite versatile.

You are made of stronger stuff than I am. I had to do my Unique Vintage pictures inside this month because it was too cold (for me) for outdoor photos. Heck, I am inside right now, wearing a thick sweatshirt, and my hands are freezing.

I like the top in the second picture. I would wear it if I had one in my size. But I am all about big, obnoxious floral patterns and bright colors.

lol I think this was taken during the nice part of the day. But when it’s chilly, this is in my yard so I just pop outside for like five minutes!

gillep

Both the sweater and wrap look amazing on you. The colors on that sweater are so nice, and look so beautiful on you, that you really don’t notice the print.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thank you gillep! I like it more now that everyone is telling me they love it!

Bekkah

The Finley waist wrap shawl looks AMAZING on you. You should definitely keep it. It is really very versatile and can be worn with jeans, slacks, leggings. I have several different shawls and i literally wear them daily. You can wear them with a nice tshirt too. A blue one would look great underneath. I really hope you keep it!

Anna

Awww thank you Bekkah! I think I will!

Erin

Anna, you look beautiful in the wrap shawl! I know it’s not your style but it really does look fantastic on you. Throw on a nice long pendent necklace and some skinny jeans with either flats or heeled boots and you’re good to go. Beautiful! 🙂

Anna

Thank you Erin! You’re too kind!

I consider myself to be a pretty good stylist. Lol. I think you should try the waist wrap shawl with a black vneck shirt, black skinny jeans tucked in tall black boots. Then put your hair up in a loose knot worn high. Then put of pair of large silver hoops. I guarantee you will love it! As always I love your reviews!

Anna

Thank you Michelle! That makes my day! Plus those are great ideas, I wish you could come over and advise me!

Anna

The sweater looks great on you! My favorite item. I like the black pants too.

I just subscribed to Dia & Co. based on your wonderful, detailed reviews, and I LOVED my first box. Thank you so much! I would probably never have heard of Dia& Co. if it weren’t for you. 😊

Anna

I’m so glad to hear it Lynn! And thank you!

Lynne

You look beautiful! But I agree with all of your comments. That wrap cape is stunning–the only keeper in my opinion. Why can’t anyone make boyfriend jeans in curvy sizes that aren’t distressed and too tight in the legs???? Has anyone found any?

Reply ButtonReply

AmyM

The only boyfriend jeans I’ve found that work for me are from Eloquii. I’m 5’8″, pear-shaped size 22.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks Lynne! Levi’s makes a decent trouser cut Jean with a straight dark wash., I think.

Terrisa

I think the shawl is a keeper for you ! The colors are GREAT! The fit is good and its just sassy!

Anna

Thanks Terrisa!

The Joleen Tunic looks absolutely beautiful on you! The colors and the fit are so amazing that I don’t even really focus in on the pattern. It’s kinda like at first glance I have already decided it looks awesome, before I even focus in on the details of the pattern, if that makes sense at all?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Yes that makes sense! Thank you Jami!
