WantableStyleAugust2016-001

Wantable Style Edit has been a major player in the subscription styling service market for over a year now, and they just started offering plus sizes at the end of July. I was thrilled to get the chance to try them out! Wantable Style Edit is one of several different subscription boxes offered by Wantable, including Wantable Intimates, Accessories, Fitness, and Makeup.

This box was sent to us at no cost to review (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

When I signed up for this service, I took a pretty lengthy quiz in which I indicated my price, size and style preferences. Wantable uses a great model of indicating what you love, what you like and what you dislike, for all their subscriptions! They send you more of what you love, and never what you dislike. These are the preferences I selected. I can go back and change them at any time.

This is the note from my stylist, Madelyn. It explains why she chose the items she picked for me.

This is the invoice of the items they sent me this month. On the right it shows my cost to keep each item. The total comes to $331. If I keep everything, I get 20% off, plus I get my $20 styling fee deducted. That brings the total down to $244.80 for a discount of $86.20. That's a deep discount!

V-Neck Draped Printed Woven Top - Cost to Keep $45

I don't usually like sleeveless tops, but I really like this one! I think it would look great under a black jacket or cardigan. My husband (the photographer) doesn't like pink at all, and even he declared this top "one instance where pink and black look great together." I think it's a keeper!

Wide Leg Ponte Pant - Cost to Keep $84

I don't think these pants are particularly flattering, and they're about six inches too long, but boy, are they supportive. They almost feel like something from Fabletics, but a little softer. They really feel luxe and high quality, too! But at an $84 price point, I'm not sure...

Naveah Jacket by BB Dakota - Cost to Keep $75

When I pulled this jacket out of the box, I thought I would hate it, but now that I see it on I actually really like it! The sleeves are a little long, but in this picture I was trying really hard to not wrinkle it. It does wrinkle easily! But it's also a piece that kind of looks fine wrinkled. This seems like it could be a great everyday jacket for fall.

Effortless Ankle Seneca Jeans by Kensie - Cost to Keep $78

These jeans are total winners. They're flattering, they fit like a glove, and they have enough stretch that I can run around with the kids and not hurt myself. I think I have to keep them!

Navy Bohem Printed Tie Dress - Cost to Keep $49

Conversely, when I pulled this dress out of the box, I instantly loved it, but now that I see it on me I don't like it nearly as much. The pattern is nice and vibrant up close, but I think from this distance it looks a bit washed out. I also think it fits strange on me. I like the way the sleeves puff out near the wrist, but I don't like the way the skirt pencils in a bit at the bottom. I wish it just flowed straight or out a bit.

Verdict: I am really loving my Wantable Style Edit so far! This month was not the grand slam that last month was, but I still found a great pair of jeans, and I will probably keep the jacket and blouse, too. I think last month I received more name-brand items, but that doesn't matter so much to me (although I know it does to some). It's really fun having items hand-selected for me and trying them on at home!

What do you think of Wantable Style Edit? What did you receive in your box this month?

Great review as usual.

If you like the feel of the ponte but want a better fit, try Avenue. They just got in their fall colors so there is like five to choose from. They are a little bit cheaper too.

I voted yes for the top and the jeans!!! The jacket the sleeves are just really too long – but you could take them to a tailor and have them brought up (I think a tailor could do that). I’m of the belief that if it doesn’t fit you perfectly (or can easily be hemmed to fit perfectly) don’t buy it because you will fixate on that one issue.

The voting option is awesome! The first top is great and I liked those jeans too. I did like the black pants, and it’s good that they’re good quality because that seems like a lot to spend on dress pants (maybe I’m just cheap, lol) but on top of the cost of those pants, if you have to spend extra money hemming them, that makes them a return item for me, for sure.

I think it all looks really awesome on you! This is probably one of the first times I have looked at a review of a clothing sub, and actually liked everything for that person.

If you keep nothing else keep the jeans. They look fantastic and it’s really hard to find jeans that you love.

The voting option is SO fun. Please do this every month! Especially love the top and the dress. This might make me consider doing the Wantable style box…hmm.

Oh my gosh! I tried Style Edit when it was first launched, but hated my box. I’m a big fan of Wantable in general, but was horrified at my Style Edit. I LOVE yours! Everything in it is adorable and looks great on you! I especially love the sleeveless blouse, and I don’t love pink either. 🙂 Maybe I’ll give it another go.

After waiting a month for them to ship my style edit, I asked for a refund. I really wanted to try it too. But they were about to charge me AGAIN before my box even shipped! So disappointed in this company.

Me too!! It’s great to see someone with a similar body type to mine modeling in in-style clothes! And the voting is fun 🙂

I got those pants from both Wantable and Dia & Co and totally agree with you – super supportive and comfortable but way too long and a little expensive. I returned them both times. I wish Lysse made those pants in a petite/short length.
