Each month is themed and this month pitted two franchises against each other – Pokemon and Harry Potter!

Each month always includes an info sheet as well. This will include some details about the item and its selection along with their estimated values.

There were two distinct groups of items – so I’m going to start with Harry Potter!

Gryffindor Scarf – Value $25 on Amazon

The first Harry Potter is perfect for the cold weather – it’s a Gryffindor scarf! The scarf is an acrylic fabric that doesn’t itch. It’s a favorite right now – Liz stole it and is wearing it as I write this!

Harry Potter Wax Seal + Sealing Wax – Value $14 on Amazon

They’ve included a wax sealing kit for your next secret message to pass along to Hedwig.

This will stamp the Hogwarts’ crest into the wax of your choosing. I like that they’ve included an appropriately colored wax, too!

Send your favorite letters in style!

Harry Potter Map Print – Value $5 (I couldn’t find it online, so this is from the card)

This map comes in at 28.5×10.5 inches and features all of your favorite destination in the wizarding world of Harry Potter.

This map is LOADED with Harry Potter goodness – fans of the books or movies will get a kick out of browsing this map.

There was also an upgrade item this month – which I think is the first time ever – lucky subscribers also received a custom made Marauder’s Map that was valued at $18. Did any readers get it?

Harry Potter Letter + Golden Ticket – Value $7 (this was also pulled from the info card)

You’ll receive your first piece of Owl Post this month, too!

It’s got all of the fun details to keep it an immersive experience for fans.

The first item inside is your golden ticket to Hogwarts via the Hogwarts Express!

And, of course, your acceptance letter and uniform guidelines – just a fun little touch for fans.

Snitch Necklace – Value $7 on Amazon

They included two bonus Harry Potter items since they shipped late this month – this was a fun surprise and a great gesture from Lootaku!

The first item is this snitch necklace.

All three pieces of this are independent of each other – it’s a nice little piece, especially as a bonus!

Harry Potter Wand Keychain – Value $8 on Amazon

The second bonus item is a 4-inch keychain featuring Harry Potter’s wand.

This is made with an alloy metal – on Amazon they have a set you could complete, too – you can get Voldemort, Dumbledore, and Hermoine’s wands as well!

Ok – that’s all for the Harry Potter portion of the box – on to Pokemon!

Takara Tomy Poke Ball Plush – Value $17 on Amazon

You would receive a plush Pokeball in your box, too! You’ll get either a Poke Ball, Great Ball, Hyper Ball, Master Ball, Repeat Ball, or a Premier Ball.

Mine was a Great Ball. This little 5″ plush Poke Ball is weighted on the bottom with weighted beans so that it will land upright when you throw it! It works really well, too!

Pikachu Sleeping Bag Big Plush – Value $60 (from the info card)

I got one of the two special upgrades this month! You’d normally receive a collection of small plushes, but certain lucky subscribers got the big plush upgrade that you see here!

The card mentions that these plushes are from a Japanese lottery:

These plushes are exclusive items from Banpresto’s monthly Japan lottery called “Ichiban Kuji”, which translates to “The Best Lottery”. This lottery is exclusive to Japan and all items are extremely limited!

I found some on Amazon but I couldn’t be sure of their authenticity since these are so limited.

I got Pikachu with a Squirtle sleeping bag. These come in at 12 inches tall!

Takara Tomy Pokemon Monster Collection – Value $10 for both

The final item(s) of the box are two random figures from the Pokemon Monster Collection.

The bases connect allowing you to spin your entire collection at the same time – I thought that was a fun idea.

Verdict: I’ve been having a blast with Lootaku for the past 4-5 months, even when the theme isn’t perfect for me. This month was a bit of a departure from their normal box, which is statue and figurine-heavy, but that’s ok – every once in a while it’s nice to get a different style of box. I thought they had 1-2 great items from both fandoms this month included with small, fun items – overall I thought it was a great job this month!

What did you think of the October Lootaku?

  1. What an awesome Harry Potter box!!!

  2. If anyone has this box or even just the scarf (willing to buy the scarf) I’d really be interested
