This box comes with an info booklet – the first page is a letter explaining the theme. Inside each maker and their products are detailed. There’s also details about the fair trade practices, community support initiatives, etc. – it is a feel-good read!

Now, onto the items!

Hand-Painted Serving Dish, Tunisia (Retail $30)

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-010

This dish measures about 10 inches across, so it can work as a smaller serving dish, or as a dinner plate if you make a set.

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-009

I'm so impressed by the handpainted designs and I love the color combination, too.

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-008

And while GlobeIn recommends hand washing to preserve the plates, I can confirm that I've been putting our matching mugs in the dishwasher almost every day since we've received them and they still look brand new!

Hand-Painted Sauce Dish, Tunisia (Retail $12?)

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-011

This sauce dish is an alternative to the basket included in every box. (Subscribers can pick this instead of the basket if they prefer.)

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-013

It measures about 4 inches across and has a good depth for sauces, too.

Greeting Card Box Set (Set of Eight), India (Retail $22)

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-018

I love that this card set comes in its own beautiful box - it's a perfect addition to my desk.

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-020

This set includes 8 cards and envelopes, and the paper is made from recycled cotton pulp, so it has a lovely texture to it, too.

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-019

These are flat cards and blank on the plain side, so you can use them for any occasion.

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-021

Beautiful!

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-014

Gift Box (Set of Three), India (Retail $20)

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-015

More beautiful organization for my desk!

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-016

These storage boxes are small enough so that they won't take up too much valuable desktop real estate, but still big enough to store away most of my clutter! (The largest box lid is about 4 by 6 inches.)

globein-artisan-box-giving-november-2016-022

And lastly, this box included this folded blank card with this Picasso quote on the front. Lovely! (Value $2)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $86. I think that's a great value for a subscription box that focuses on fair trade and giving back. And I absolutely love the designs this month! I love all the handpainted ceramicware I have from GlobeIn (and I always want more), so the serving dish and sauce dish are welcome additions to my collection. And the storage boxes and notecard set are just gorgeous!

Glad I’m not the only one who is upset. Why would they let the product sell out before this month’s theme has shipped out? We’ve already paid for our subscription, so we should get the products we want first.

What an Amazing looking box or basket.. Loving all the blue and white… So in love with the boxes too… Those mugs are gorgeous and the plate…. I wonder if they have a really great black friday deal… I can’t see hold because the point to buy and help out smaller companies…. I have a feeling they will make it right somehow…. Maybe you guys who didnt get what you wanted will get it in the next box or get to pick something amazing instead…. I wonder about the 10 dollar box or basket.

They just responded to my email about the substitute and they were able to switch it for me despite it being “sold out. ” It sounds like they do have a limited supply though. Hope everyone is able to get their preference!

Danelle

Yep. The day my email came to pick I went two hours after email time stamp to pick and dish was sold out. Wrong!

What the…!?
How can a substitute item be “sold out” or has limited quantities?? This is not making any sense at all.
Hope they’ll reply to the emails the ladies below sent soon. I’ll probably going to send an email addressing this issue, too…

Debra

That happened to me also, but they were still available for purchase at that time, which didn’t make sense. They’re now marked as “sold out” for purchase too though.

YES! Me too! I was very sad about that!

I’m a little ticked off, I went in two days ago to pick my box and the basket substitute was already sold out. So did they not have very many of them??

Lisa

This was my response:

“I’m sorry the Sauce Dish sold out so quickly! We had a very limited amount because the artisans at Le Souk Ceramique in Tunisia are already using their full production capacity to produce the Malika Serving Plates that are coming in the Giving Box this month. We had no idea there would be such high demand for them! We will order more to be produced as soon as possible, and post them at shop.globein.com whenever they arrive. I hope you’re able to find other add-ons that you like!”

Too bad add-ins are extra.. Great for them though.

I got the same email…. makes me a little bitter. They could send out the sauce dish for free to bloggers, but not people who actually paid for the box. Don’t get me wrong, I love this site and all other box review sites. But leaves me a little bitter, that we don’t get the same items or option to get the sauce dish. I also wonder why they didn’t take into account how many people would want the sauce dish. I like the baskets, but you can only have so many of them.

Annie

I had the same thing happen but I am assuming that they are just having a computer glitch. I am confident they will figure it out and make it right as they give me no reason from our history together to think otherwise. 😉

on a previous spoiler post, there were quite a few comments about this issue too. I sent an email 2 days ago and still have not heard back. I just sent another message to them from their website.

last month I picked the placemats, but still got the basket instead. this month I picked the dish, but when I checked my account the next day, it showed the basket. so I’m not very happy at all.

its very unfortunate bc they’ve always had the BEST customer service, but I guess they have some new people now… and its went downhill obviously. I sincerely hope something changes soon

I think it’s mainly a problem with their website. I pretty much never select the basket, but sometimes when I double check it, the basket is selected. It’s been happening to me since the bottle shaped basket. I’ve taken to making my choice, then refreshing a couple of times to make sure it sticks. I usually have to select my alternate several times before it stops showing basket.

Randi

I just got an email to pick my box (same email as the other day) – so I went into my account again and the dish is now selected for me, even though it still says “sold out”

Angela

Same here, sent an email two days ago and still have not heard back.
