We Read to Know We Are Not Alone Graphic Tee - Value $20.00
Every box comes with an exclusive t-shirt by Appraising Pages. This one features a quote by William Nicholson, a playwright, film writer, and author. I love the quote and the way it incorporates itself into this book design. I also like that the design sits down by where my left hip is. It's different. The only thing I don't like about this soft shirt is the blue color. It's just not my shade. Otherwise, this is a good one!
I found that similar shirts on Appraising Pages' site were only $20.00, though the info card in this box lists it for $25.00. The quality is nice, but I wouldn't spend more than $25.00 on it.
Bibliophile Candle, 4 oz. - Value $6.00
I kind of expected this candle to smell like paper or books (how, I don't know, but I do love that smell!), but the scent was more coffee-infused, yet sweet. Almost like a caramel latte. I like the design on this little tin, but I think I would've preferred a glass jar. They just tend to look prettier sitting on my mantle.
Ampersand Pashmina - Listed Value $18.00
This is a really cute pick. It's thinner and somewhat translucent. I love the black ampersands, and I think the white is very classy. I could throw this scarf around my shoulders to add a bold statement to an otherwise simple outfit.
I don't know, though, if $18.00 is quite right. The design is cute, but the quality feels a bit lacking. I'd say $12.00 feels more accurate.
Just One More Chapter Bookmark - Value $8.00
I love the watercolored bookmarks included each month in the Bookish Box. This one features an abstract feather pattern and beautiful script. Raise your hand if you used to say "Just one more chapter!" before going to bed! This is such a beautiful, reminiscent gift to find in my box.
Verdict: I liked this edition of The Bookish Box! The items were simple, but I could see how they'd appeal to a bookish audience (cool fonts, quotes, etc. that make reading feel very necessary... and very cool!). The value of all the items is about $52.00, which is almost twice the cost of the box. That said, the listed price of the scarf, which was a big part of that estimated value, feels a bit overblown. But the pieces are cute and useful! If you're looking for something to support or psyche you out about reading, this box is for you!
