This is the letter that arrived in this month’s box. This month’s SUPER box included a Miracle-Gro AeroGarden! Next month, they will be sending out at least 25 SUPER boxes containing an Echo Dot! I hope I am one of them! How exciting! This month there is also a 20% off coupon code for

This is a separate notice about the 20% off coupon for

SERIOUSLY! They really want us to know about the deals!

The final piece of literature included this month was this coupon for Hello Fresh.

Square Nonstick Pan – Value $17.99

I know this is just a pan, but I was so happy to see this in my box. I really needed a new square baking pan! I tend to be hard on cookware.

Jack-o-Lantern Muffin Pan – Value $4.20? (Value and link are for a similar item)

I’m sorry this picture is a little grainy! There was something about this muffin pan my camera just didn’t like. This will be fun for this weekend! I’m going to make some muffins for my family to celebrate. I especially like that they included a rubber spatula! That will be handy year-round!

Zombie Apocalypse Heat Change Mug – Value $12.99

The very best thing about this mug is that…

… it doesn’t work at all! Haha! That cracked me up so much! Yes, the last picture is the mug full of scalding hot water, and I even waited for ten minutes to see if anything would happen. No zombies.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 Battle Pack – Toothless vs Dragon Catcher – Value $8.94

Of course, my sons were super happy to get this battle pack in the box! What a nice surprise for them!

Perfect Slice Plastic Slicker – Value $4.99

This is one of those kitchen gadgets that serves one (and only one) purpose well, and that purpose is to slice things like cakes and casseroles of a certain diameter. I know some people would love to have this, but I have a small-ish kitchen and not enough patience for gadgets I will only use maybe twice a year. I will have to find a new home for this.

Beach Cup Holder – Value $6.95

This will be useful the next time we go to the beach. I actually love going to the beach when it’s cool outside, so it may be sooner that you might think!

Storage Container Set – Value $20?

This set is not on the 13 deals site, it has no branding or marking on it, and I couldn’t find it online, so the value here is just a guess. The containers themselves are like the semi-disposable ones you buy at the store and then try to re-use as often as you can before you inevitably lose them or they get warped or otherwise damaged. We can always use more of these! I’m actually more excited about the larger storage bin they came in! That will definitely go to good use.

Verdict: I sometimes feel like it’s worth the $25 just to see what I’m going to get every month from the Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome, it’s so much fun! This month was a great mix of practical and Halloween-ish items. We will use everything except probably the slicer. The retail value of everything this month totals about $74, which is amazing for a $25 box!

  1. This is a box that I LOVE to see reviewed here, but would be hesitant to subscribe to. It’s fun to see what is in it each month, and I love Anna’s casual attitude about it — that “let’s see what we got this month without expecting too much” way of looking at it. Having that kind of thinking about subs in general is a good idea – you’re never too disappointed!

In this sub, I think I’ve noticed that there are nice practical things that you might always need more of and some random, kind of crazy things. Fun!

  2. I’m afraid after three months I’m cancelling this box. I’ve pretty much gotten one or two items that I can or will actually use in each box, not enough to justify the price. This month, I got the Pan and slicer, the Star Wars bucket, the zombie mug, windshield cleaner thing, and the Grab and Go shopping bags. I tried it out, and ended up disappointed every time.

    • I cancelled last month. Last month was my favorite box of all. I was hoping I wasn’t going to regret it, I’m not regretting it after seeing this month. None of those items are appealing to me.

I like non-beauty boxes, but don’t like popsugar, not sure on Little Lace (I have 2 boxes coming so I shall see) I do get Serendipity (hated last month, I gave the whole thing away, hopefully next box is better) I just signed up for fabfitfun for their editors box, hope I like it.

      • I have the annual Fabfitfun subscription. I’ve liked all the boxes so far.

        • Yes, everyone seems to love them, I hope I start loving them too!

  3. The pan and the cutter are meant to go together – I was pretty stoked about that set!

I got the Grab’n go grocery shopping bags that you hook to your cart (perfect for shopping at Aldi!), a Star Wars trash can, mustache wrapping paper, a silicon sleeve for pots (which I need because I ALWAYS burn myself on my cast iron skillet) and the mug.

I was happier with this box than my first box, but have cancelled for now because I don’t need any of this stuff!

  4. You guys got much better boxes than I did. It was my first, and I was incredibly unimpressed. I got the zombie mug, some rope, a cling for a frige that looks like a water dispenser, a plain white plate with 4 appetizer spoons, and a trunk organizer that was warped when I opened it. Then, when I tried to use my personalized “coupon code,” it didn’t work. The website had it’s own code for free shipping, so I just used that instead. I hope next month isn’t this lame, or I’ll drop it.

    • some rope??? what do you mean?

      • Lol! Just like it sounds… a small thing of rope. I doubt it’s enough for me to use to tie anything.

      • Go to amazon.Com and do a search on glow in the dark rope. You’ll see what I got.

    • Same here, I got the same box as you. This is my first box and I am disappointed.

    • I was not impressed at all. I got mine in late november and it was a small lantern. Small flashlight. The Halloween muffin pans and the hide a way storage. Nothing I can use. I am disabled and was hoping for something fun. Thinking of canceling now.

  5. They sent the same silicone muffin pan in Pet Treater this month…

  6. I had subbed for three months for the upgraded ($10) more box and it was fun to see what they would send. I grudgingly unsubscribed when I realized that I was getting “bargain box envy” because to me the standard box seemed like a better value than the upgraded! I still like to see what everyone gets, and if I do go for it again I think that it will be for the standard.

  7. My box was a little different. I too received the square baking pan with the “Perfect Slicer”, I think they were a set. I love the markings on the edge of the pan so all your cuts are even. I will be keeping the slicer because it won’t scratch the pan and no matter how often I tell family don’t use metal in my non stick pans… they still get scratched up.
I got the zombie mug too, and the beach cup holder. Everything else was different.
A NFL Bears wall clock. Perfect for me, living in Chicago.
A Star Wars Force Awakens tin popcorn bucket.
A windshield cleaner that I have found at Dollar Tree before.
Lastly, the “Grab Bag” a reusable, clip to the shopping cart, shopping bag.
I love my boxes each month ?

  8. I didn’t care for my box at all. I got the same mug. Mine did work. I wonder if they just put crap in mine because it was my first box but I got a trunk organizer (the only thing in the box I’ll use), diabetic socks(!), party tasting spoons (5 spoons on a plate), glow in the dark rope that didn’t look like there was enough of to be of any use, and magnets that makes your fridge look like it has an ice maker. I already cancelled the sub.
