Now, onto the items!

look-fantastic-september-2016-010

Gatineau Collagene Expert Eye Pads - Value $8

look-fantastic-september-2016-011

This includes one set of collagen infused eye masks. These are a little messier than eye gels (which are firmer) - these are more like sheet mask strips.

My eye area is pretty sensitive, so I had to take these off after only a few minutes - they were irritating my skin. If you have sensitive skin, proceed with caution!

Christophe Robin Purifying Shampoo - 75 ml Value $11.40

This is a good-sized sample from a premium hair care brand - I'm impressed! The formula is designed to reduce excess oil, and it's also free of parabens and phthalates! (FYI - if you avoid sulfates in hair care products - you'll have to pass on this one.)

I've given up the sulfate-ban in hair care products thanks to recommendations from MSA readers, so I was excited to try this out. The scent is fab, and it provides super clean hair, too. A+!

Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter - 1 oz Value $4.30

(Good to know for swaps - inner foil seal)

This is a classic Bliss item I'm always happy to have more of. (If you've avoided this lotion in the past due to parabens, good news - it is now paraben-free!)

The formula is lightweight, the scent is subtle, fresh and citrusy - it's a perfect lotion to me!

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Mini Lipstick in Get Ready - 1.5 g Value $7

look-fantastic-september-2016-015

This mini lipstick is so cute! The formula is lovely, too. It has good pigment and more moisture than your typical lipstick.

look-fantastic-september-2016-012

Lord & Berry Strobing Pencil - .02 oz Value $9

(This appears to be a new product, so I couldn't find it online, but I'm using a different Lord & Berry pencil for value estimation.)

You can use this strobing luminizer pencil on the tops of cheekbones, under browbones, and also they recommend trying it under your eyes. My favorite part of this pencil is how easily it blends. You can really get a barely-there shimmer or a more intense strobe look depending on if you blend it out.

(Swatched is lower photo.)

Argan Liquid Gold Multi-Tone BB Cream - 10 ml Value $32

This is infused with 24K gold! This BB cream feels great on my skin, and surprisingly, blended in from orange to match my skintone well. (I'm still skeptical that this could work for all skintones, though.)

Swatched below:

Swatched: Lipstick, Strobing Pencil, BB Cream (not blended in)

And usually this box includes the latest issue of  Elle UK Magazine, but not this month! 🙁

The Verdict: This month's box has a value of about $72 - I think that's amazing for a $22 beauty box shipped from overseas! It's also a great way to try out some new brands. I liked everything in this box besides the eye patches, so it's a great value in what I'll actually use, too!

This is an A+ beauty subscription box for me. The brands are great, the value is consistently good, the magazine is a nice special touch (when they include it!), and the packaging is fab, too!

September was my last box for 1 year sub. To be honest, I expected more for anniversary box, maybe containing one full-size product. Or announce the shipping delay and include the magazine at least. But I enjoyed this sub especially receiving European brands, but time to use up my pile of make up and skin care…

I think the price we pay is affected by the current exchange rate. I signed up right after Brexit when the British pound dipped so the cost was on the lower side (I can’t remember off the top of my head). I believe there is/was an option to pay for it in dollars or pounds so. Y choosing pounds it ended up being slightly cheaper.

Typo there should read “by choosing it in pounds…”

I really love this sub! For me it’s $19.68 CDN with the shipping included and they let me pay monthly and not in a lump sum so I had to get it. Love the skincare brands that I wouldn’t purchase a full size of to try and I used my $10 LF Birthday voucher they sent this month for the previous May box as I signed up in June and missed it. That box had tons of products and a Wet hairbrush! Since it was in GBP it was worth more so I got that box for something crazy like $8. I highly recommend this sub for trying all types of skin & hair products. And I love the mini magazine so I hope it’s back next month! 🙂

I just signed up for the 12 month…only $15 month billed monthly. I’m replacing Glossybox with this. I’ve been thinking about this sub for a few months and at $15/month I couldn’t resist!

Yes, I just signed up and was billed $15. I also checked my order and it says $15/month.

Smart trade! I might copy you when my Glossybox sub runs out 🙂

The magazine was not printed in time for shipment — that’s the only reason it wasn’t included this month.

I also missed not seeing the magazine in the box… it made the box feel like it was too big for the other products. I like everything in general although I know I won’t try the eye pads.
This was my first box that actually made it here. I should have received last month’s box (which looked wonderful) but an address snafu has it floating in limbo somewhere.
Now I’m already curious about what next month’s theme will be! 🙂

Oopos!!! I just noticed you had already posted it!!! Sorry… I’m still working my way down all of today’s posts (I got a lot of catching up to do! 😀 ), and I just came across your post on the advent calendar. Yay!

Luna

Hi Liz,
This has already been referenced a couple of times in the comments of other posts, but I thought I’d mention it again… just in case you didn’t see them, and would like to make an announcement…. but, the 2016 Lookfantastic Advent Calendar is available for pre-order, and will ship on November 1. (I used my $10 b-day coupon to purchase it! 🙂 )

Regina

I love this box! If you sign up for the 12months, for me it came to $16.50 per month, and you pay it monthly vs. one lump sum! I was a little disappointed this month with no magazine, and also with it being their birthday month was hoping for ‘more’. It still was a good box, I love getting to try the different brands. I have never had a problem with this box arriving on time, I love that!
