This box comes with an info booklet – the first page is a letter explaining the theme. Inside each maker and their products are detailed. There’s also details about the fair trade practices, community support initiatives, etc. – it is a feel-good read!

Palm Leaf Basket – Value $12

globeinthreads_092016-047

Each box comes with some of the contents packaged in a palm leaf basket – they’re great for storage!

This month, you could also pick this bandana as a substitute for your basket:

Spotted Bandana, Ghana (Retail $10)

globeinthreads_092016-057

(GlobeIn sent me both for review purposes.)

I love the dot pattern of this bandana fabric! It can be worn as a headband, neck scarf, or maybe even a dog bandana!

Buckles was more than happy to be a part of this photo shoot!

And here we are both wearing GlobeIn:

Wildlife Works Vicki Tee, Kenya (Retail $30)

This shirt is made from 100% cotton, and the sizing runs a little large, so I'd suggest sizing down. More on Wildlife Works:

Welcome to Wildlife Works, where every dollar spent on our products goes directly to job creation and community development in rural communities around the world. That’s right, directly. There’s no middleman or non-profit that the funds go through to get where they are most needed. At Wildlife Works, our mission is clear: to provide people in wildlife-rich areas with sustainable economic alternatives to poaching and deforestation. When you buy a Wildlife Works product, you become an agent for conservation, and are wearing the brand that says you won’t sit quietly while the last wild things in the last wild places disappear forever.

I like the scoop neckline of this tee, too! It's a little different than your traditional t-shirt.

Foldover Clutch by Tribe Alive, India, (Retail $50)

This might be my favorite item in the box. I love the mix of fabrics. Here is a better look at each side unfolded:

globeinthreads_092016-052

globeinthreads_092016-051

And it is fully lined, too:

globeinthreads_092016-053

This clutch measures 11 by 11 inches when it is unfolded.

Tassel Bag Charm: by Tribe Alive, Honduras, (Retail $10.)

I love the barely-there pink dye on this tassel! Here it is added to the clutch:

globeinthreads_092016-055

I think it would work great on a keychain, too.

Root Collective $50 Gift Code, Guatemala

This box also included a gift code to save $50 off a pair of shoes from Root Collective.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $100 (I'm not counting the gift card since that requires a purchase). I think that's a great value for a subscription box that focuses on fair trade and giving back. And I love my new clutch! Everything else is cute, too!

Did anyone else get a size other than what they indicated? I got a size medium when I asked for XL in my preferences section. Was there some other way we were supposed to indicate what size we wanted? Maybe I missed something, somehow. Super bummed because I really like the shirt. I reached out to customer service to see if I can swap it. I have had one other issue with customer service before and have been impressed with their service.

On a positive note, I did get the Argan oil that was missing last month. I bet between the different shirt sizes and figuring out who needed an oil added to their box they had their hands full this month.

Has anyone else not received their box yet? I subscribe to both the Benefit and Artisan boxes and have been charged, but no tracking numbers as of yet and it’s the 24th.

My Artisan box hasn’t shipped yet either. I contacted them but haven’t heard back (which really upsets me). I understand if there are delays but they could send out an email to make us aware of the delay. The FAQ on their website specifically states that all boxes are shipped by the 22nd of the month. If I don’t hear something in a day or two, I’m going to cancel. I won’t tolerate poor customer service when there are so many subscription box options.

Ditto. I contacted them on the 21st and they said it may be delayed because of the shirts coming in different sizes?

If we subscribe today, would we get this box?

(And, both you & Buckles look adorable! What kind of dog is he?)

Buckles is SOOO adorable! That bandana looks very classy on him! Do you know whether this basket is still available? If I subscribe today will I get September? Thank you!

Amber

I like that they included an option to get instead of the basket, in case you have too many already. And the $50 coupon is a free pair of flats! I might just have to get this

I just resubbed for 3 months, because I really want that shirt and that tassel. I’m thinking that I will need to swap for more of those tassels, because I think my kids are going to want them!!

Buckles is definitely pulling off the dog bandana look! He is way too cute. Love the clutch, too!

Lexie

I’ve bought clutches like that in India for $4. How are they claiming $50? Seems really arbitrary the pricing on this

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

Because they are paying the artisans a living wage?

Wendy

Cotton shrinks easily in the wash so I don’t know if sizing down is a good option in the long run.

Sarah

Hum, i hope the shirt fits. I am getting it in a swap and i asked her to order me size xxl, because the customer service said an xl was a 10 -12 . Now i am worried it will be huge

Get outta here with that perfect picture of Buckles!!! ?? that has got to be the cutest picture ever. Great shot! How did you keep him still?!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Haha! I think he’s a little jealous of any attention we give to picture taking, so he’s always happy to pose. 🙂 In Eric’s Bespoke Post review: https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2016/09/bespoke-post-subscription-box-review-coupon-rise.html

He just walked over while we were taking pictures and put himself in the shot like he was meant to be there! 🙂

BUCKLES IS SO ADORABLE!!! Your boots are super cute too! 🙂

LisaTrato

Oh my gosh! How did I miss that one. ? He just flopped on over. That’s a great one too. Makes me so happy to see pictures Buckles in any review! I’m loving all the pictures lately. everything looks like magazine spreads!

KarenG

Buckles needs to start charging for modeling services. 3 treats per photo. Buckles, Lmk if you need an agent ?

Haha! Love this! 🙂

Luscinia

I agree! He’s looks like a natural. ?

I LOVE this box! I can’t wait. I just hope I can pull off the clutch.

Also, I received an email from GlobeIn that says the code SWEETVICTORY is good for $20 off a 3-month or longer artisan box subscription for NEW customers. The offer expires in 7 days. It seems like a general code, so I imagine it will work for anyone.

So size down on the shirt compared to our regular size? Just curious since I already sized up because the size chart lists an XL as a 8-10.

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

Yes ! Me too. I ordered an xxl because i normally wear a large or xl. The owner emailed me that an xl was a 10 -12 and an xxl 12 – 14, and thats my size. I totally love the looks of this shirt but its looking like it may be HUGE!

Reply ButtonReply

michele

how were you able to get an XXL? Globein told me that they didn’t have that size and nowhere on the brand’s site do they carry an XXL? I really wanted the t-shirt, but since they didn’t have my size, I skipped this month…

Liz Cadman

So, I’m usually a large at stores like Forever 21. For this top a medium is a perfect fit, a large would have been a little too loose. Hope that helps!
