Labyrinth Shirt - Value $15

This month's shirt features David Bowie from Labyrinth! I immediately thought of the Loot Crate shirt from earlier this year - but I actually like this one better! It's pretty straight forward and less busy, so I like it!

Lord of the Rings Eye of Sauron Snow Globe - Value $15+?

The hero item this month is also an exclusive item. It's a mini snow globe from Lord of the Rings.

Nerd Block August 2016 - 10

Sauron's gaze is in full-effect with this snow globe! It's a cool design - I really like the ring around the base of the globe.

I'd say it's about half the size of a standard snow globe - which I actually like better. I'm not a big snow globe fan, but something about the mini version made it cooler in my eyes.

Nerd Block August 2016 - 11

Here's a shot of the black and red glitter raining down on the eye of Sauron!

Nerd Block August 2016 - 14

The poster is awesome! The many faces of Lisa!

Nerd Block August 2016 - 15

Here are the 4 large stickers included as well. I absolutely love the Super Friends sticker.

Nerd Block August 2016 - 16

Nerd Block August 2016 - lisa-collage

It also included a foldable fortune teller. Liz kindly put it together and demonstrated it for us!

Nerd Block August 2016 - 17

Those are really just the bonus items. The book itself is pretty hilarious for Simpsons fans as well.

Masters of the Universe figures - Value $10?

These are an exclusive color for Nerd Block - they're typically a pink color. The 3 I received were Beast Man, Skeletor, and Trap Jaw.

Nerd Block August 2016 - masters of the universe collage

They're very tiny little figures - similar to toy soldiers - very retro toys, for a retro show!

Back to the Future Time Circuit Luggage Tag - Value $5?

This exclusive luggage tag features the time circuit from the Back to the Future Delorean! I don't travel much, but when I do, this will be my new luggage tag - I basically love anything Back to the Future!

Nerd Block August 2016 - 18

Ghostbusters Print - Value $5-10?

The final item this month was a Ghostbusters print. I don't really care for prints, but this one is really great. I love seeing all the villains in one place! Check out the Scoleri Brothers on the left! Easily my favorite print of the year.

Verdict: I liked the August Nerd Block. The shirt, book, luggage tag and print are all awesome and fun! I do think that this is more 80's kid friendly, though - so I might just be in the perfect demographic for these items. I really love the Simpsons books, I received the Homer Simpson book in the December Geek Fuel and liked that one as well - they're just fun. I feel obligated to mention how much I love the $10 ShirtPunch voucher - I'll be adding a POP to my collection with it!

I absolutely LOVED the Simpsons book! I got Bart & it was so fun to look through. The rest of the box could’ve been crap (though it wasn’t ) & I would’ve still been happy because of the book. This box was a win for me.

Loved this box. I received the Homed version and got Skeletor, Sorceress, and Castle Greyskull. My waterglobe came apart from the base while I was checking it out =/ Thank goodness i was holding the glass part. It looks like the glue was barely used to attach it to the base. I am gonna attempt to contact Nerd Block to see if they might replace it, if I can’t get it to stay together with some glue I have around the house. Other than that, loved every item, especially the Muscle figures, still have around 150 of the original that I used to go buy the little clear trashcans full of ’em =)

I loved this box! I signed up just for the labyrinth shirt (which I ordered in a size too small- doh!). Everything else was just extra fun. My boyfriend grabbed the he-man figures but I will be putting everything else up on the swap site. ?

Did you ever get the July box? Never saw a review for it.

Is the smaller snowglobe better ’cause it’s hobbit-sized?

Eric

haha – that could totally be it!

That is a really awesome print although I think my favorite so far was the one of Link and Epona. And I love the luggage tag. I would probably attach it to my wallet or purse and carry it everywhere. The Lisa book looks very colorful and entertaining. I would want to collect all 5. And I love snow globes in general so putting a fandom in it that I like well is a double bonus for me. And I like the shirt graphically. The little plastic guys would be ho hum but everything else is solid enough to make it not matter. I agree with your 80’s kid charm assessment. This is probably my favorite Nerd Block from the last 6 months or so of review reading.
