Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon April 2016 - inverted box

This month’s theme is “Quest”. This is the inverted box lid – they did a cool maze all around the entire box.

This lid immediately made me think of…

I loved this show when I was young – so the thought of it pretty much gets triggered by like, any gold coin.

It included a starting point and everything!

Let’s start off at the major highlight of the box – this incredible Labyrinth shirt! This highly detailed ode to the David Bowie/Jim Henson classic!

RIP David Bowie, and now, Prince. Those are some major icons lost already this year.

D20 Ice Mold – Value $10-15?

This is an exclusive, large, 20-sided die ice mold!

Random fact – this made me think of Weezer – In The Garage – which I’m now listening to for the remainder of this review.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Poster – Value $5?

The last item in the box is an Uncharted 4 poster.

I couldn’t be more ready for this to finally come out (are the delays really all over!?)! I was late to the Uncharted franchise, but I’ve been caught up for years now – it’s time to end the story!

Verdict: This was a really fun Loot Crate! Everyone absolutely loves this shirt, and rightfully so – it’s one of the best ever shirts from a box! It wasn’t a box where I loved each item and will use them all the time – but each item certainly brought a smile to my face while unboxing, so I personally liked it!

  1. This is a great Loot Crate. They had my attention when they said if I liked the Fantasy crate from last year (and I did) I would love this crate (and I do). I love the t-shirt design. I love that they included a D20 ice mold (I collect dice), and I love the Harry Potter socks. This is in my top 3 favorite ever Loot crate combos.

  2. What do you do with all your pins? How do you store them & showcase them at the same time?

    • I have a portable closet that I pin them to myself. Makes it look all fancy.

  3. I heard talk of a movie based on Legends of the Hidden Temple

  4. I wore my shirt yesterday (seemed extra appropriate with the beautiful purple, so I imagine Bowie and Prince collaborating on a magical masterpiece).♡ I got SO many compliments and people wanting to buy it from me!! I’m a HUGE Vikings fan, so the horn cup was cool. I’ve also worn the HP socks to bed the last 2 nights. My boyfriend’s 6 year old son thought the ice cube mold and pin were cool, so this box (my 1st) was a big win for us.

  5. I received the golden Loot pin this month, and I got the signed copy of Chrissy Teigen’s cookbook in my PopSugar, feeling like I should play the lottery this month!

  6. The shirt was so amazing IMO. The design and coloring just perfect.

I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the crate and loved the button especially this month.

However…is anyone else annoyed the socks says tiara and not diadem?!

  7. Hmm.. it’s odd. My Viking horn didn’t come with a leather strap nor did it come in a disposable plastic bag like this one appears to be. I’m a wee bit disappointed. But all in all its been one of my favorite crates. 🙂

    • Contact lootcrate and they should help you out easy peasey lemonn squeeze

  8. Every time someone mentions D&D die, I get that Weezer song stuck in my head too! LOL

    • YES. I had to put it in the review because I couldn’t get it out of my head!

  9. I was on the verge of cancelling Loot Crate. I have been disappointed the last 2-3 months and I decided to give it one more chance. I am glad that I did! This month was epic!

I agree about the assessment that each item brought a smile to my face. I am liking the trend of including nerdy socks in subscription boxes along with shirts.

    • My husband has subscribed for a while…and he’s over LootCrate now. We’re going to be trying something else for a while. The sheer amount of wasted stuff we receive each month is sad. My husband ends up donating things because he doesn’t leave them in package for me to swap!

      • See, I didn’t like that it came with socks because of the level up with just socks but I did think they were nice socks. Its funny that technically this one came with 4 wearables, The shirt, socks, cup and pin. oh Pro Tip: you can actually wear it over your head and around one arm (think bandoleer) and it holds the cup more securely and looks more manly than wearing it like a necklace. A bunch of people complained about this months box. I liked it. I loved the cup shirt and pin. Cannot wait for DX!!
