Better late than never, right? I finally got the July Nerd Block yesterday!
Each month, you'll find a card with all of your items. Use this to find out more information about each item in the box. This month, they also included items from their past subscription boxes - so everyone got bonus items!
You'll also now get a $10 credit to ShirtPunch. You can use this money to buy any type of product in their store - and they have a ton of Funko POPs! This won't cover your shipping, though, so you'll be paying $6 shipping for a lot of items.
Ghostbusters T-Shirt - Value $15?
This month's shirt features Gozer's minion, Zuul, from Ghostbusters 1! I immediately thought of this scene:
I just crack up thinking about Louis Tully in general.
The Joker Bleacher Creature - Value $10-15?
They included an exclusive bleacher creature from Suicide Squad this month - and it's the Joker! I'm excited and nervous to see the latest iteration of The Joker on screen - how are you feeling about it?
Attack on Titan Blind Bag - Value $5 on Amazon
We got a blind bag backpack hanger featuring a character from Attack on Titan. I got Annie. I like the mold of these little vinyl characters, but you can only use them as backpack hangers, they don't really stand on their own - unless you super glue them to a base. hmmmmm....
Harley Quinn Black and White Pocket POP - Value $7+
There is also an exclusive Pocket POP this month! Get ready for Suicide Squad with a black and white Harley Quinn Pocket POP! Usually, I can leave these freestanding - but this one just doesn't cooperate! This is a great little Pocket POP, though, I like the sculpt! I'm happy to see an exclusive Funko item in a Nerd Block, in the past, they had mostly exclusive Titan vinyls.
Transformers Pin - Value $5?
This is yet another exclusive item this month. They sent out an Autobot insignia pin to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie. I, beyond all odds, never got into Transformers as a kid, so I don't follow them, or get excited for them, now. That's ok, I think I have enough fandoms 🙂
All subscribers got some bonus items from previous blocks this month. They didn't specify them on the card, though.
Exclusive Aliens 2-Pack Vinyl Figures – Value $30.00
This item comes from the October Horror Block. I still love the Alien detail and its tongue - very cool. This is something I don't mind having duplicates of, either - I have friends that love this kind of stuff, so it's easy to gift or add multiple Aliens to a display!
Awkward Family Photos Postcards – Value $7-10 on Amazon
This item first appeared in last August's Nerd Block. These are fun to cycle through - they still crack me up.
It's kind of like walking down memory lane because I remember when the book and site were first a thing - so these are fun.
Night Of The Living Dead Magnet Set – Value ?
And finally, the last item first appeared in the September Horror Block. I gifted these to my brother - so I think he'll be getting a second set!
Verdict: This month's box was an ok box for me - I think that's mainly due to the fandoms I follow. I really like the shirt and Pocket POP - but the other items weren't too exciting for me. It's great that they're including free items in the box as well, it's adding on top of the value that's already there with the 5 featured items. Also - I personally love the inclusion of the ShirtPunch credit - I always use them to buy POPs!
