In addition to their bi-monthly subscription box, Luxor box also does Limited Edition boxes. This review is for their Special Edition Luxor Black Box. (No longer available).
The packaging on this box is fantastic. It's definitely a box you will want to keep and reuse for gifting or storage. So much fun to unwrap:
And every item came in its own packaging, so you could definitely break this box down into lots of gifts.
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
FYI this box is no longer available for sale, but here are the box details:
The Box: Limited Edition Luxor BLACK Box
The Cost: $650 to the US, $700 to Canada
The Products:
-
This box will consist of a mix of 7 items from brands in the USA, France and London.
-
One of our France featured items is a STUNNING “Limited Edition” piece that is currently SOLD OUT in France. This special piece is now ONLY available in The Luxor BLACK!
-
The brand we are featuring from England is so prestigious that they have been supplying their goods to the households of Her Majesty The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HRH The Prince of Wales for decades!
The box comes with individual cards for each item included. First up:
2 Brandon Blackwood items!
Brandon Blackwood New York Dual-Texture BackPack in Suede Croc - Value $800
This piece was spoiled when the box was announced - I think subscription box companies are always smart to reveal the high-value item in a box, especially a $650 box!
I knew this piece would be high-end before I received it, but I'm even more impressed with the quality now that I have it in hand.
This bag is made with a custom crocodile embossed suede upper and vegetable tanned leather bottom. The inside is lined completely in genuine suede with a zip pocket and sections for your phone, too.
The purse also has a very sturdy structure, so it's going to keep its shape, too.
It works great with just the handle as a purse, or you can add the adjustable straps for a backpack look:
I love wearing black when it comes to clothing and accessories, so this will fit in perfectly with my closet. And even better, it stands out thanks to the dual texture combination. The different leather textures, plus the removable backpack straps make this a perfect blend of classic and unique.
Plus, how great are backpacks? I don't know if I can go back to purses after experiencing the convenience of wearing this bag!
And we have a coordinating wallet!
Brandon Blackwood Napa Wallet - Value $125
This is such a timeless piece!
This is a leather bifold wallet that zips completely closed - I love it! If you've ever grabbed your wallet out of your purse only to see all your cards have fallen out in the bottom of the bag, you know why I am loving this zipper!
And in the middle part is a tiny coin purse that zips out if you'd like to remove it, or just use it alone as a slim card case!
Halcyon Days Zebra Black & Rose Gold Bangle - Value $295
This bangle is made of brass then plated with 18kt gold and enamel. It has a good weight to it, and the quality of the hardware and snap are great, too.
The hinge design is so slick! You just press down on one side of the button to release the hinge, and it slides into place and locks on its own.
I think it looks lovely on its own, but would be great to mix with other rose gold and black pieces for a mutli-bracelet look. Here it is on:
Mottahedeh Heirluminare Two Votives with Tray - Value $245
No surprise - the packaging on this set is amazing and definitely something to keep and re-use.
This set is a combination of efforts from Mottahedeh & Company, a luxury porcelain design company, and Vila Hermanos, "a small prestigious candle factory located in Spain."
The candles are made from 100% natural wax (no palm oil) and fragranced in Grasse, France.
Subscribers may receive one of four versions: Green Lace, Cobalt Blue Lace, Cornflower Lace, or Green Apple Lace.
This is such a stunning set. The candle is a mix of scents, with top notes of bergamot, lemon, mandarin flower. It's a sweet, fresh scent, and not too strong, either.
Mary Jurek Design Silhouette Scalloped Bowl - Value $90
Luxor Box has sent out Mary Jurek Design items before, and I am becoming a big fan for one big reason - these pieces look amazing, AND they are dishwasher safe! They are made from 18/8 Stainless Steel, and completely safe to use for serving food, too.
Fancy + easy to clean = YES!
This piece measures 7 inches across, and would look great on a vanity, too.
Rose et Marius Velvet Pouch - Value $80
(Colors may vary)
This pouch measures 9 by 12 inches, and would be great for small tech gear (kindle, ipad, etc.) or beauty products.
It has a velour finish inside and out, and of course, I think the best part is the classic Rose et Marius pattern.
Here it is with a few items to better show scale:
Rose et Marius Perfume - Value $100
This perfume bottle design is meant to be on display! So gorgeous! The crystal bottle is made in France, and I love the old style aspirator bulb to spray the perfume - so fancy!
The scent itself is floral and sweet. The top notes are Iris Florentina, fennel blossom, wild immortal.
Verdict: This box has a value of about $1735. I can't believe I just wrote that! The value is great, and while this was an expensive box, I think Luxor Box did a great job at delivering quality pieces and brands. Everything is very classic so it should be usable for years to come, and I appreciate that everything is also ready to gift if it isn't a good fit for you.
