121 First Dates: How to succeed at Online Dating, Fall in Love, and Live Happily Ever After - $11.40 on Amazon (retail price: $16.00)
I had picked up this book prior to receiving this box and had gotten as far as “Part II: The First Date” before returning it to the library. So, I was happy to see it in this box. Overall, I enjoyed reading helpful tips on how to navigate the dating sites and Do's and Don'ts of the online profile. I found the book encourages the reader to "take what resonates with you and leave behind what doesn’t." I look forward to finishing. From Amazon:
Based on years of research and 121 real-life first dates, relationship expert Wendy Newman dishes up practical wisdom for navigating the online dating trenches with grace, efficiency, and a strong dose of humor.
Wendy Newman has made every imaginable dating mistake so you don’t have to. Part guidebook, part personal tell-all, 121 First Dates chronicles Wendy’s funny, real-life misadventures and the practical wisdom she gained from them. Her dating tales will find you laughing, commiserating, and nodding your head as you learn how to stay in the dating game until you find the right man, just like Wendy did.
This book busts myths, answers age-old questions, and examines pitfalls that make you want to give up on dating altogether. Just when you’re about to submit to a lifetime at home with a pint of Haagen-Dazs and sitcom reruns, 121 First Dates will inspire you to keep stepping out. Wendy discusses how to date successfully and efficiently, avoid the most common dating pitfalls, have an amazing first date with anyone, end uncomfortable situations with grace, and much, much more. She offers up realistic Dos and Don’ts as well as tips for making the most of any situation you find yourself in—whether you want to run or you think he’s the one.
Brimming with humor, hope, and authenticity, 121 First Dates will give every woman the tools, confidence, and determination to be and stay real when dating. How else will you find the best match for you?
Skinnygirl Gummies: Annabella Cherry and Mango - $3.50
I love how this package has individual packets instead of a bag of loose gummies (better portion control, because I would have eaten the entire bag, lol). These 100 calorie gummies were delicious and I tasted the Cherry and Mango flavors, although the Mango flavor stood out more.
Fred Wine Lines - $6.91
I have seen many wine glass tags, and I own a few but these are unique. They snap around the stem of the glass and have the most appropriate sayings on each tag: woozy, puzzled, boisterous, light headed and unglued, for example. These wine lines are soft, stretchable, reusable synthetic rubber. I will open later this month for a ladies’ night I’m hosting.
Emoji Sticker Pack - $5.00
I must confess, I have secretly wanted these after seeing them on Instagram and then at Nordstrom. I was going to get them for my niece and secretly save a sheet for myself (now I don’t have to, lol). This pack has 6 sheets of the most popular emoji’s.
Fashionit Folding Backpack - $16.99
I have many bags and some are the reusable bags from Baggu, but I don’t own a folding back pack. This is not helping my need to purge my bags! I welcome this product and will gladly use it. This compact folding backpack is water resistant, holds up to 13 pounds and opens at 13’x19” inches.
Pura Vida Original Bracelet-Baja Blast - $5.00 (sold out on their website)
I love the simplicity of this handmade waterproof bracelet and in my opinion it will pair well with the Soko Market Bracelet Set from the May SinglesSwag box. I enjoy stacking a variety of bracelets and this will be a welcome addition. These bracelets provide full time jobs for local artisans in Costa Rica - check out their story.
Jelly Pong Pong Lip Butter-Seashells - $18.95
This color was a miss for me, but may be a hit for others. I mixed it with a red shade of lip gloss I had and it seemed to work better. It’s nice to see a face product included in this month’s box since their May and June box had body and nail products. FYI this company is cruelty free.
Verdict: I have been enjoying the products from SinglesSwag and am pleased with their creative and fun curations. I have been introduced to companies with heartfelt stories, brands that are new to me and items that have become useful and enjoyable. The July box has a value of $67.75, based off the products' website and Amazon. Check out their Instagram page to get more encouraging quotes.
