Let It Block 30 SPF Sunscreen  – Value $14.99

Ever since I tried Prtty Peaushun, I'm a little obsessed with this pouch-style packaging. As you use it, it takes up less space in your bag/purse, plus it is more environmentally friendly than your standard plastic bottle/tube packaging. And no worries about squeezing out every last drop!

This sunscreen is paraben free, water resistant up to 80 minutes, broad-spectrum (protection from UVA + UVB rays) and 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

The formula itself is very thick - but it was easy to rub in and left no white residue. And this may be the best part for some people - I couldn't detect any scent! (Not even that classic sunscreen fragrance.)

SunnyLife Pineapple Ice Tray – Value $17

These silicone trays are great for non-ice uses like chocolate, too. (And one thing I always look for - they are dishwasher safe!)

Popsugar-036

I wanted to try out something besides your standard ice cube, so I decided to make jello shots!

Popsugar-229

These tiny jello pineapples turned out even better than I was hoping for - so cute!

For these, mix 1 cup of boiling water with the jello mix, let the mix fully absorb, then add up to 1 cup of alcohol. (Refrigerate for a few hours - the time may vary depending on how much alcohol you use.) I used regular vodka, but I'm sure they would be even better with a flavored vodka.

(And of course, these work as just regular cute jello molds, too!)

Popsugar-240

I also wanted to try something a little more refreshing, so I froze pineapple puree with blueberries to add to sparkling water.

Popsugar-247

For this one, I blended equal parts pineapple chunks and water to make the puree, then poured it into the tray and added blueberries before putting it in the freezer.

I drink sparking water everyday, so I think this is my favorite use of the ice tray - I can make flavored (but not overly sweet) water whenever I want!

Verdict: This box has a value of $32. While I don't find the Mini Box as exciting as the full-size regular box, so far I've been using almost everything they send. (The Juice Beauty lipstick from the June Must Have Mini Box is already one of my favorite subscription box discoveries this year.)

And I like that this box is a mix of practical and fun. We always need more sunscreen, and I'm thrilled to get a full-size sunscreen in any box. (Sunscreen samples are usually only good for one application, so this is the type of item I pay full-price for.)

Plus I had fun with the ice cube trays once I started thinking of ways to use them besides just filling them with water!

Did anyone else receive the sunscreen exploded in your box? I already cancelled this and went back to the full popsugar box. Extremely disappointed. Love your photos though! Great job!

Liz, I totally think this is the worst must have mini box yet! I cancelled my subscription and so did my daughter. You really did help me out with your recipes though, I will love to use those with the little trays, I was thinking I will not ever use them! I also wasn’t happy for the first time in forever with my regular July PopSugar box. Very dissapointed! Hated it. Will all be up for swap. If anyone wants this mini box my daughter wanted to just re-sell hers! She didn’t even open it.

Umm, Liz? I know everyone has already said it, but can we talk about how beautifully you staged those photos??? Amazing!! They are “I want my life to look like that” quality. Thank you for taking the time to do that and share them!!

Pictures are great, the items not so much! You can get those silicone molds for super cheap at Ikea or sometimes the dollar spot at Target.

Photo game on point! Bonus points for added jello shot recipe!

Dude! I mean, Dudette. These pics are so good, I’m going to finally buy the cute silicon molds I’ve had on my amazon wishlist so I can have pretty, fruity charged water like Liz! High quality content like this got me hooked years ago, & keeps me coming back for more– even though I’ve greatly reduced subscription consumption due to finances this past year. I also busted out a long skinny scarf & wore it as a headband a la Liz & got a bunch of compliments. I don’t even remember which review I got that from, but, thanks!

Liz Cadman

Thank you SO much, Maggie! I’m happy to hear you rocked the skinny scarf headband look, too! 🙂

Great review Liz, I love the ideas and photography. Looks like it should be in an ad in a foodie magazine

The jello shot idea definitely salvaged this box for me, thanks Liz!

So the sunscreen is only 3 oz.? Isn’t that what you’re supposed to use up in like only three days?

Excellent photography and ideas for the ice trays!

Liz, thanks for the awesome review! The jello shots look so cute ?
You made a dreadful box (for me) looked 120% better!

Those ice trays are pretty cute. But the PSMH mini box is not a good deal IMO. Two very random items. Usually only one is o.k. May buy those ice trays for a foodie friend who would appreciate them. BTW..has anyone recd their mystery box yet? Have not received any shipping info yet.

Reply ButtonReply

Tracy

I’m pretty sure that they aren’t shipping the mystery boxes until the 15th.

Liz, just had to say that I’m really loving the photography/staging in some of your recent reviews. I’ve been reading this blog for years and it continues to get better all the time.

I found a few recipes to make homemade pineapple/coconut scented body scrub/soaps. They are so cute when made in these pineapple trays! I’m going to make a bunch and use for gifts.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

That’s such a great idea! Let us know how they turn out! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Tierney

LOVE the idea with the pineapple puree. Water and fruit infused water is pretty much all I drink and this will mix things up some!

Reply ButtonReply

Dezaray

I too love the pineapple puree with blueberries idea. I’m excited to try it. Thanks for the great idea Liz!

AmyM

Oh man. Now I’m almost sorry I swapped my trays. You made a mediocre box fun. That is no small feat!

OMG, I didn’t know there were two ice cube trays, SMH! I had opened yet, I love the idea for Jell-O shots, I’m having a Ladies night this Saturday and this would be perfect!!!! Thanks, Liz you did it again??

Tracy

Those jello shots came out soooo cute! I was wondering if the stems would hold when you tried taking them out of the mold. I wish the price of the mini was the same price as the Serendipity box.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

I was worried about the stems too, since they are much thinner than the rest of the pineapple, but they all came out OK! I would recommend spraying the tray with a very thin layer of cooking spray if you want to be extra safe, though! Gotta keep those pineapples in form! 🙂

Khaleesi

Agree, I loved your review of both of these boxes! I still canceled the mini because I have to budget myself a little more and make room for other subs lol.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

LOVEEEE the ideas for the ice cube trays!! You seem so fun!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Haha – thank you! The jello shots definitely remind me of my fun college days 😉

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

100% agree. I want to try both ideas with my own trays! Love them.

Reply ButtonReply

Janet

Once again you managed to make what sounded like an uninteresting box fun! Great review!
