MOMMY MAILBOX JULY 2016 - BOX

Mommy Mailbox is a monthly subscription box for mothers, though I think it’s a great box for women in general.

MOMMY MAILBOX JULY 2016 - info 1

Every month, they send a box filled with gifts and items curated to uplift moms. (Although, I think these boxes are generally well-curated for any woman!)

Each box comes with a card describing the theme/focus for each month. On the flip side, the card lists and described all the items featured that month.

MOMMY MAILBOX JULY 2016 - items 1

Chella Highlighter Pencil – value: $18

I’ve tried this pencil before from Birchbox, but it’s too dark a color to actually be a highlighter pencil on me. I can use it as a blemish neutralizer, though.

Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel – value: $18

This is handy! It’s a gel that helps comb/sculpt/set your brows. Very handy, plus I LOVE these for keeping fly-aways and part frizz away.

Osea Ocean Cleanser – 1 oz, value: $7.33

I’m so happy to get this! This cleanser is good for normal, dry, and combination skin, and it’s made with minerals and algae, dermal proteins, vitamins, and minerals salts. And? It’s fantastic. It leaves my skin feeling great. I do what’s called “double-cleansing” so I remove my makeup before washing it with cleanser, even though this is supposed to also remove makeup. I feel like it did a great job removing any leftover gunk on my face, though. Plus, it has the most amazing natural scent. Love!

SimplyProtein Lemon Coconut Bar – value: $2

This bar was pretty good – light and crunchy like a rice krispies treat. Unfortunately, I just don’t like lemon-flavored things (unless it’s frosted cake in which case yum).

MOMMY MAILBOX JULY 2016 - items 3

Here’s what it looked like. The texture was great; I would just prefer a different flavor myself.

MOMMY MAILBOX JULY 2016 - items 4

Light Grey Turkish Towel – value: $25

Thanks to subscription boxes, I’ve got a handful of these towels! I love them for lightweight blankets, since we don’t swim much. Perfect for sitting outside, too!

MOMMY MAILBOX JULY 2016 - items 5

Here it is laid out. It’s a really nice size! Not much smaller than the one from the June Little Lace Box, for reference, if you received that one. The fabric for this one is nice and feels thicker than some I’ve felt (I’m looking at you 2014 PopSugar Resort LE Box).

Verdict: I really liked this month’s box! I found a great new skincare item and I love getting Turkish towels in boxes. I know it says “mommy” in the name, but it’s a great box for women in general. I estimate the total box value to be about $98, which is great!

Argh, I’d love this box if two of the items weren’t Chella brand – just not a fan of them since their quality is kind of low (I’ve tried their products in other boxes and always wound up throwing them away).
