The Rachel Zoe Box of Style from The Zoe Report is a subscription box from Rachel Zoe. I am a huge fan and love her taste, so I this is one of my favorite style subscription boxes!

It’s a very-well made piece, and goes perfectly with my preference for delicate gold jewelry. (I’m wearing the necklace in the last picture in this review, too, so you can see what it looks like on!)

YHF Los Angeles Cashton Brown Sunglasses – Value $40

These sunglasses were such a great surprise in the box! Since we already knew the jewelry set and swim coverup were going to be in the box, I wasn’t expecting another accessory!

I like the gold metal and tortoiseshell accents too. Here is a better look at the tortoiseshell:

OUAI Haircare Wave Spray – 1.7 oz Value $8.90

This spray was one of the spoiled items, and I was very interested in trying out the OUAI brand after I saw the Facebook Live Video with Rachel Zoe and Jen Atkin discussing the OUAI line.

The wave spray is more scented than I expected (think of it as part hair perfume), but the scent didn’t bother me.

I tried this out on dry hair and I was immediately impressed with the volume it added – serious volume and waves pretty much instantly! I’m going to try it on wet hair tonight with the dream turban in this box – I’ll update with the results tomorrow!

Juice Beauty Green Apple SPF 15 Brightening Moisturizer – Value $38

Juice Beauty is one of my favorite beauty brands! I love that they use organic ingredients – it’s especially important with skincare items I’ll be applying directly to my face!

This moisturizer absorbs quickly enough, and I just love the signature green apple scent!

DreamDry The Dream Turban – Value $30

In each box, Rachel includes one of her go-to styling tools. (Think fashion tape, blotting sheets, etc.) They are always super useful to me, but usually not that exciting.

But that has changed with this box – I’m so excited about this turban! Here is how you use it:

You can use your blowdryer on your hair once it is in the dream turban, or let it air dry with the turban on. Rachel gave her tips, too:

I use this DreamDry Turban every time I wash my hair – I even travel with it. I love that I can throw it on before bed and wake up with smooth, frizz-free hair. Sometimes I even use it with a conditioner or oil, then wrap it up for a deep-conditioning treatment.

And I’m happy to report that this is SUPER comfortable on – I was thinking I wouldn’t be able to sleep it in, but after putting it on I didn’t want to take it off!

Michael Stars Pastel Gardens Coverup – $58 Value

This coverup is exactly as bold as I was expecting after seeing the spoiler pictures! I normally don’t wear bright colors, but this seems appropriate for the summer/beach, and my bathing suit is basic black, so I guess I can afford to mix it up a little!

The material is lightweight and sheer, so it won’t take up much room at all in your beach bag. It’s 100% polyester and dry clean only. (I’m taking dry clean only as a challenge – I think putting this in the gentle cycle on cold and letting it hang dry will work.)

And I was fortunate enough to be at the beach this weekend with family and friends, so I was able to actually try everything from this box at the proper locale! Here I am with the sunglasses, jewelry, beach wave hair, and coverup:

Verdict: I think the Summer 2016 Box of Style is a perfect summer box. It feels special, resort-ready, and there are no filler items! The retail value of this box is about $365. I like that it pushed me out of my fashion comfort zone a bit with the cover up, included some fabulous staples (Juice Beauty SPF – I can never have enough of you), and introduced me to some new brands as well!

  1. This was my first Box of Style, & it bummed me out. I loved the sunnies, but they broke almost immediately, & the DreamDry turban is great, but there are lots of cheaper versions out there. And unfortunately I just think the jewelry is HIDEOUS – if I’d seen the spoiler, I wouldn’t have gotten the box. I canceled right away.

  3. Ugh – I was super excited for the necklace and it broke within 5 minutes of me trying it on.

    I contacted them to get a replacement, it took a couple days to get a response, but they finally told me I would have to send the broken one back and then they will send me a replacement. They sent me a return label. So hopefully this will be a quick turn around.

  4. I was an original subscriber but let the subscription lapse because I did not want the Spring BOS. I received an email from BOS letting me know that if I signed up for the Summer BOS by June 27, I would receive the box by July 4. Her I am 2 days later with no confirmation of the subscription and no shipping information. I sent a request for assistance and received a response that because they are sooooooo busy, I will have to wait 2-3 business days for a response, which probably means I won’t get my Summer BOS by July 4. I guess I’m not surprised after reading all the other comments about poor customer service 🙁 Will update when I receive any shipping information.

    • A little later in the afternoon I posted on Zoe Report’s FB page and received a response immediately, then an email shortly thereafter specifically addressing my concerns. I hope I get the box by the holiday weekend but I doubt I will. Even so, I appreciate that they got back to me so quickly.

      • And . . . no box for the 4th. Bummer.

  5. I received a coverup with loose threading. Did anyone else experience this? I emailed customer service for an exchange, and they said they would exchange the item. But, I have to pay for return shipping. I’ve had two communications with them thus far, and their customer service is poor.

    • My caftan has a hole and glue on the back of it. I’ve emailed them 4 times about a replacement and tweeted Rachel Zoe herself, her husband and The Zoe Report and still no response. I’m pretty furious about this horrible customer service. If you’ve made contact and have the address to which they told you to mail your defective product, would you please post it here?

      • UPDATE: After 2 weeks since I originally wrote to Customer Service and then did everything I described above to try to get their attention, I finally received a response yesterday re my defective caftan. They said they will pay for return shipping up to $10 and will send a replacement as soon as they receive my tracking number showing I’ve mailed the defective one back. I mailed it and provided the tracking number yesterday and they immediately got back to me saying that they have put in an order for a replacement. They said I’ll receive a tracking number for the replacement as soon as it ships. Nothing on that so far.

    • I received my box about a week or so ago, and I am an annual subscriber. I did not receive a shipment notice this time, nor did I receive one for the spring box. I hope it just shows up for you very soon. 🙂

    • I am also still waiting on my box as well! I got an email with a tracking number on 6/3 and fedex still says “pending!” I tried to contact customer service 4 times with no response. So disappointed with RZ’s customer service. Definitely cancelling after this.

  9. You do look amazing! If you are unsure about paying, Google the sorority girl pose – no joke! They are pretty much experts at the right angles to get you to look great in any full body shot!

  10. FYI- If you receive a defective item from them, and ask to exchange it for a non defective item, you will have to pay shipping to send it back to them.

    I received a defective caftan- the right side seam wasn’t finished correctly, so the material is fraying and wasn’t rolled into the seam. I sent them multiple emails, and they didn’t respond for two days until I posted on their FB page. When they did respond they told me that they would exchange it, but I would have to pay return shipping. I’m more than happy to return it, but I’m not thrilled that I have to pay shipping to return an item that they sent that was defective. That seems totally wrong to me.

    So beware if you’re thinking about subscribing to this box.

    • My caftan string was frayed. I sent them an email as soon as I received it with a picture. It took them a week to reply, but they eventually did. They are sending me another one and didn’t ask for the first one back. Maybe it depends who replies to you?

    • I’m still waiting to hear from them. My caftan also was defective – it’s got a hole in the back and some spots that look like glue around the hole. The auto reply to my email to customer service said they’re overwhelmed with email inquiries so expect a 2-3 day wait to hear back from them. My sense is that most or all aspects of their Box of Style customer service operation are woefully inadequate. I’ve subscribed since the second box, and they have never once met the promised shipping date. They also should have anticipated, as with any business, that they would need to deal with defective product periodically, and they should have a process for free returns (e.g., emailing a pre-paid return label). It’s completely unreasonable to expect the customer to pay to return a product that was defective. They really need to get their act together.

      • I am beginning to feel like almost all of the subscription boxes are inadequately staffed….
        I agree with you that they should pay for the returned item.

      • I got the same poor response from customer service about my defective product. They want me to pay for the return shipping. Really poor customer service. Email had spelling mistakes and smiley faces, which seem inappropriate to me.

      • Janet – If you have the address to send the defective caftan to, would you post it here? They haven’t responded to 4 emails and multiple tweets, so I may just send it back and ask for a replacement that way. Thanks!

    I’m pretty upset with RZBOS as I have sent a boatload of emails as they charged me for an annual sub even though I had sent emails to cancel! I was going to buy boxes if I liked spoilers + such – I have not rec’d a response still and finally called Amex to explain, the CC they charged! Does anyone know what’s going on?!? I even found a RZ phone number and left messages to no avail! Also, why not have a button to simply cancel on their website? I read on an older BOS post that some people were charged as well but did it get resolved? TIA!

    • I was charged $400 for my last box and got a refund when I threatened a credit card chargeback (that costs merchants even more since there’s a penalty they’re required to pay). I got a quick response to that message after hearing nothing from CS for 4 days after sending my original email. They also gave me half off the next quarterly box. I fully expect I’ll be charged full price and have to fight to get the discount they promised in writing. Customer service is unfortunately pretty awful with this sub. I was missing 2 smaller items entirely from the spring box and they literally never responded at all.

      • I am STILL dealing with the RZBOS ordeal albeit with help from my CC company – RZ stated that they would refund my $ if I dropped the dispute + returned the summer box that never should have been sent to me since I had cancelled months prior! Further, they refused to provide an address to ship the box back to and instead tried to convince me to keep the box for $87 and deduct that from the $350 I was owed, was nuts! their CS is appalling! I’ve never had this happen and I’m shocked! CC card company is dealing still and it’s JULY but was told by CC they will deal! It actually makes me sad as I really thought of RZ highly but it seems her many biz are not living up to the name I’m sure she worked very hard to establish….FYI to all, you can delete your CC from the RZBOS site after you order, I would highly suggest doing so! Also, they could easily have a cancel button on the site and then less time would be wasted by CS but they don’t which for a small company may be normal but not for RZ! ah well!

  13. I’ve received items I did not order by mistake(wrong packing slip) so I contacted the company and they sent me a free mailing label. The laws vary but I think you have to contact them and let them know about it. A lot of companies will just let you keep it. With it being so hard to contact them I would personally set it aside until hearing from them. I would be wary of using return to sender unless you can get some proof you returned it.
    Good Luck and let us know how it turns out for you. Hopefully they will let you keep the box for your inconvenience and time.

  14. Ladies worried about sizing- do not give up on the cover up! My box arrived today and I am a size 14/16 normally but am 27 weeks pregnant so I have a little extra in the middle currently (ok, a lot haha). It still fit and looked cute enough I would confidently wear it. I am also tall (6 ft) so I wish it were a smidge longer but minor problem to have.

    • This so true-got mine expecting the caftan to be a no go(but still hoping for the best). Especially given the material has no stretch. I was shocked to find that it fit! I’m about a 20w and it just covered without any pulling with a little room to use the drawstring. It’s not as gathered and flowy as it would be on a smaller frame, but it fits. For us larger ladies I think it will depend on your proportions or how your weight is distributed. My weight is pretty evenly distributed although I’m a little heavier on bottom so it worked for me.
      I gotta say thanks to the RZ BOS team for the effort they’ve put into finding items that are sized or adjustable so we can all get a little fabulous in our lives!
      As for the rest of the box- I’m super happy, love it all! The glasses are so cute on-even the husband really liked them. Jewelry is nice, different.

  15. I sent 4 emails and called a number I found for RZ and no one ever got back to me nor did they cancel! I had an annual and even though I tried to cancel many times they charged my Amex $350! I am quite upset that RZ BOS never responded! I still have not heard back from them and then I looked on account + this box shipped! I finally called Amex and i’m sure they will sort it but still a headache…Do y’all think I should do a return to sender on the box when it arrives?!? Has anyone else had issues like this? TIA!

  16. I almost cancelled this box when I saw the hero item, but I’m so glad that I didn’t! Still not a big fan of the jewelry set, but I love everything else in the box.
    I got my box today and was so pleased when I tried on the cover up. I’m plus-sized (size 16, but not busty) and the cover up fit great. Maybe slightly less flowy than on Liz in the photo, but not too tight and definitely still super cute for the beach.

    • I just resigned up after seeing all the yummy things! Im a 16 so I hope it fits me as well. The sunnies were a surprise! I cant wait to try the turban and spray. I have naturally wavy hair, but it gets unruly at times.

  17. I just opened my box and I avoid spoilers. I didn’t remember the “hero” item so the jewelry is my favorite item. So shiny and sparkly while being casual at the same time. Any kind of hair spray should be banned from boxes and this one smells like roses to me which I detest the smell of. I like Juice beauty, sad to hear some of you don’t!
    I’m in Florida, so sunglasses and coverups are a staple and always welcome.
