This April, the theme is “Spring Essentials”.  Our insert card has a note from the Founder, Dana Hill.  It says she’s picked out some awesome beauty products for us this month.  While she can only provide the essentials to nurture our exterior selves, she encourages us to remember to love ourselves from the inside and out.  Thanks Dana!  And like always, the products are listed on the back with a ton of coupon codes from the brands included in the box.

Naked Beaute - Shea Body Butter in Adore (2oz) - $4.30

This body butter is great for moisturizing the skin.  It’s made with natural ingredients and smells amazing.  I love body oils and butters and this one came right on time.  I just polished off a sample of another perfumed body butter I was babying. LOL.  At this very moment, the Adore scent is sold out online.  But there are a number of other scents that I hope we see in a future Cocotique box.

Cover FX Custom Cover Drops in N100 2ml – $6.00

I received this exact sample through Cocotique in the fall.  I wish I’d received a darker shade since the sun has come out.  You take drops of this pigment and add it to your foundation to create your perfect shade.

Ginger & Liz - Nail Lacquer in Happy Wife Happy Life (Deluxe sample) - $6.00

This polish is from G&L’s Rock & Ice Effect Collection.  It’s described as a holographic rosey pink shade with specks of black.  To me, it wears like a soft purple.  It’s beautiful!  This is my first polish from Ginger & Liz.  They have a number of other gorgeous shades available online.  I absolutely love their nail polish remover wipes and I’ll probably use the coupon code to grab a few polishes and more wipes!

Essenza - Luxury Hand Soap in Mango Agave (12oz) - $3.99

I think this is my first hand soap in a subscription box!  I know I stole one from John’s box a while ago.  I’ve seen this brand before in stores but I’ve never tried it until now.  This one smells just like Nerds candy.  Yummy!  Essenza soaps are formulated to be mild cleansers without striping the natural oils from your skin.  I have major problems with the bathroom soap at work. So I think I’ll take this one to the office to share.

Makari - Skin Repairing Clarifying Serum - (5mL) - $1.00

Makari is one of those brands that you love or hate.  I’m in the middle.  I’ve received a soap from Makari before, but I can’t get past it’s heavily perfumed fragrance.  It’s so strong, it literally gives me a headache.  I wanted to try this on a old scar, but it’s not happening.  This serum has mixed reviews online, some say it works well.  Other’s say it’s a gimmick as the full sized bottle is over $50!  So if you received this product, let me know what your thoughts are about it.  Is it working, do you find the perfume over-powering?

Madame C.J. Walker Beauty Culture - Curl Enhancing Jamaican Black Castor & Murumuru Oils - $4.00

Ultra-Moisturizing Co-Wash (1oz)

Defining Butter Creme (1oz)

This brand is exclusively found at Sephora!  I don’t get out to my Sephora very often, and I’m not shopping for hair products when I’m there. I think I have quite enough.  LOL.  This brand is new to me and I can’t wait to give it a try on the kiddos.  When I went online at Sephora, there’s a ton of hair products from this brand, but the ingredients listed appear to be more suited for looser curl patterns.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of MSA’s maternal viewers.  Naked Beaute surprised me with this card on the bottom of the box.  The giveaway is over but you can find their Mother’s Day Box for sale here.

Verdict: This April, COCOTIQUE had an estimated retail value over $25.00.  I found both hits and misses this month.  I’m enjoying my new-to-me branded body butter and I’m still on the fence with the Makari line.  I love that I received another sample of pigment drops, but I hoped that I’d receive a different shade from before.

What did you think of COCOTIQUE for April?  Are you going to use any of the included coupon codes?
