Last year, the Vinylpalooza box also promised 4 vinyl figures as well, but this year they guaranteed only POPs. That, of course, made me bite because I love collecting POPs!

Freddy Krueger POP

I knew I would have a high probability of duplicates, but I still took the gamble. I receive two duplicates, and this is one of them. Freddy has, and will always be, one of my favorite horror icons, and while this is a duplicate, I also have more than a couple people in mind to gift it too - so all is not lost.

Here's Freddy out of the box.

Yondu POP

This is the third or fourth time I've received this Yondu POP in a geek box in the past year! This is obviously a duplicate, but again, and easy one to gift or giveaway!

Here's Yondu out of the box. I can't wait for Guardians of the Galaxy 2!

Thunder POP

Finally - a new POP! This one if from Big Trouble in Little China. I'm not a big follower of the movie, but this is a cool POP on its own!

Brian Johnson POP

Another new addition to my collection, and from a line that I had planned on collecting! It's been a while since I've watched The Breakfast Club, but I've seen it many many time and it's such a classic. This POP had me like...

Verdict: This year's Vinylpalooza was definitely much better than last year. Last year felt like they were getting rid of old inventory, but this year was something different altogether. I'm pretty sure at least 2 of the 4 were definitely not in any Block this year, so that's awesome. All in all, at about $38 shipped to the US, you're getting one POP free - and if you're new to collecting them, there's real value there.

I got Brian Johnson also! Definitely a random mix though – I also got Aubrey from Pitch Perfect, Morgan from The Walking Dead and Brennan Huff from Step Brothers. No duplicates but TBH I’m a bit meh about all except Brian Johnson so if anyone wants to swap…

I have 20 pop figures, so the chance of getting any duplicates was relatively small… Or so I thought. Because I managed to get not one, but TWO duplicates: Red from Orange is the New Black (she was my 2nd pop figure), and Tie Fighter Pilot (got earlier from Nerd Block).
And I’m not that happy about the other 2 figures, I received The Mountain (not reading/watching Game of Thrones) and The Collector (Guardians of the Galaxy was a huge disappointment for me).

Mine sucked.
I got 2 characters from True Blood, a Star Wars Tie Fighter Pilot and one of the chicks from The Breakfast Club.
Lousy box.

Weren’t some of these repeats from earlier Blocks? I thought the Yondu and the Freddy are both. Not helpful to their loyal customers who subscribe to multiple boxes of theirs. 🙁

I wasn’t able to order one, but I’m super jealous of that Yondu, he was probably my favorite character in that movie. Looking at some of the unboxings though it looks like this box was hit or miss with most people, which I guess is like most Nerd Blocks.

Got mine today, kind of disappointed… I got Yondu (the only one that I’m familiar with), unmasked darth Vader (knew him but never watched the movie before…), pornstache from orange (who??), and uncle Rico from napoleon (again, who??). Hope they’re easy to swap…

Your two are very lucky. I would have been happy with either of your boxes. I got
Darth Vader unmasked – which we already got in a nerd block
Kip from Napoleon Dynamite
Brennan Huff from Step Brothers
Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad

So my box had nothing it i wanted.

I got:

Deadpool
Eric Northman from Trun Blood
George “Pornstache” Mendez from Orange is the New Black
And Hank Schrader from Breaking Bad, which is the only one I wasn’t crazy about.

Very cool. I like that the selection was kind of all over the place between our two boxes.
