Each month comes with a card to detail each item inside. This month's theme was "Parody". I was very very excited for this one since it featured a lot of Weird Al!

Tacky Shirt - Value $10?

I have always, and will always, love Weird Al. I could watch UHF on repeat. His most recent album, Mandatory Fun was really a reminder to me of why I love him so much. It all came back to me the first time I watched to video for the song that this shirt is based on - Tacky!

SO GOOD!

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon April 2016 - simpsons vinyl and coozie

Weird Al Simpsons Figure - Value $15-30?

I can't really get a good sense of value on this item. The non-exclusive is very expensive on Amazon, so I'm assuming the non-exclusive is a bit rare - so this exclusive must be even a bit more rare. Such an awesome exclusive to get for Nerd Block! It includes an accordion - of course - and stands about 5 inches tall!

Family Guy Koozie - Value $3-5?

The next item is a Family Guy drink koozie featuring the whole cast. Heading into summer, I can use this.

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon April 2016 - book and ice cubes

Archer Ice Cube Tray - Value $11.99 on Amazon

Archer is back for season 7 right now, so this is good timing to get an item in the box! While an ice cube tray isn't my favorite item for any fandom - It still can be put to go use as the weather heats up!

Weird Al: The Book - Value $20+?

This is an exclusive book for Nerd Block!! I'm so excited to sit down and read this - just flipping through brought back some great memories of my childhood!

But none more memorable for Off The Deep End for me! I can remember listening to this over and over and over. My parents probably hate Weird Al.

Spaceballs Art Print - Value $10?

The final item is an ode to a classic - Spaceballs! But, now I wish The Schwartz Awakens was a real thing! There were 3 possible prints to receive.

If you've never watched this movie. Stop reading this review and go watch it.

Verdict: I absolutely love this month's Nerd Block - but I'm willing to bet that it's not a universal favorite. You have to really like Weird Al (which I do) to love this month's box. I love all the Weird Al items this month, and the other items are usable for me, even though they weren't items I was over-the-moon about.

This box nearly made me quit my subscription. Everything bar the ice tray and can holder went into the recycling bin. The reason? It’s simple. Weird Al is known for possibly two things here in the UK: [1] His 1984 song ‘Eat It’; [2] His cameo appearance in ‘The Naked Gun’. And that’s it. He doesn’t have much resonance here, I’m afraid, and filling the box that I’ve paid for with a lot of stuff that made a lot of people here go: “Who?” is not good. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that he’s a nice guy, but he has no real relevance here. And the Simpsons figure was missing his moustache. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one to put the contents of this box into ‘File 13’.

I love the idea of the box and love Weird Al. I was a bit disappointed that my figure arrived with the plastic smashed up (and the shipping box didn’t seem to reflect that) and there was no Spaceballs print. Plus, I just got it 2 days ago, which is pretty late for me. I still love me some Nerd Block, but I’m having a moment… 🙁

Damn. I missed out and I’ve been wanting to get one of those Simpson Al figures for a while. Another Al shirt, and a Spaceballs print would have been wonderful additions too.

The time for Mel Brooks to make a Spaceballs sequel has come!

(However, I am still waiting for History of the Word Part 2.)

I re-subbed for all the Weird Al! I’ve seen him in concert, y’know… ;D Can’t wait to read the book!

I’m not huge on geeky prints, so I’m a liiiiittle disappointed that it’s the Spaceballs item. (My very favorite Mel Brooks movie! Yes, even over Blazing Saddles.)

And what’s the deal with all of the ice trays?? O.o

If anyone doesn’t love Weird Al, I don’t want to know them.
