Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription service for women sizes 10-32. I have been intrigued with their concept for a while because I think plus-sized clothing is sorely underserved in the subscription box market. I have been having a lot of fun with this subscription!

Gwynnie Bee kindly invited me to try their service for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

gwynnie-bee-apr-floral-blouse

IGIGI - Erika Floral Print Blouse In Blue

This blouse was sexy! I thought the floral pattern was dramatic enough to make it not look too matronly.

gwynnie-bee-apr-navy-blouse

MELISSA MCCARTHY SEVEN7 - Pintuck Bell Sleeve Blouse In Vivian Angel

This tunic was comfortable and looked stylish. This was a great casual look for me.

JOHNNY WAS - Azten Blouse In Black

I'm kind of torn about Johnny Was clothing. They are very expensive, high-end pieces, and the embroidery is absolutely gorgeous. Their pieces are also really comfortable. The problem is that they're just not very flattering on me!

gwynnie-bee-apr-kimono

CITRON - Duster In Blossoming Floral

My husband loved this kimono so much I ended up buying it! It's really cool and unusual, plus the colors are so vibrant. I was on the fence about keeping it, but once in a while Gwynnie Bee marks down their at-home pieces by an additional 35%. That happened while I had this piece at home, so I took it as a sign!

JOHNNY WAS - Eleanor Tunic In Blue Emerald Top

This tunic is very similar to the one above. I liked this one a little better, I think.

gwynnie-bee-apr-kiyonna

KIYONNA - Flirty Flounce Dress In Paisley Print

I got tons of compliments on this dress! The flounce at the hem helped to balance out my hips, I think. Everything I've ever tried from Kiyonna is flattering and usually sexy.

gwynnie-bee-apr-swing-dress

ALICE & YOU - Swing Dress In Indigo Print

This dress was super comfortable and funky! Swing dresses don't do anything for my figure, though. It seems counterintuitive, but I need a bit more structure.

gwynnie-bee-apr-dragonfly

CITY CHIC - Sweet Dragonfly Dress

This might have been my favorite piece all month. It's very flattering, and I love the dragonfly print! It was also pretty comfortable. I didn't buy it, but I am definitely going to keep my eyes open for when it hits the GB Shop!

gwynnie-bee-apr-purple-blouse

XTWO - Valora Blouse

This blouse was cute and comfortable when I wore it. I didn't realize when I put it in my closet that it's kind of an animal print, which I don't like, but I wore it anyway. It felt fine!

gwynnie-bee-apr-alice-dress

ALICE & YOU - Lace Up Dress in Navy Paisley

I loved this dress! This is just my style. It's another one I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for in the GB Shop!

gwynnie-bee-apr-floral-dress

POPPY & BLOOM - Spring Forward Dress in Blue Bouquet

I just got my last box with these last two pieces, so I haven't had a chance to wear them yet. I love the cut and the print of this dress, but it seems to have a sort of unfortunate lining that I think may be problematic. We shall see.

gwynnie-bee-apr-studded-dress

MODAMIX - Dark Iris Studded Dress

I love the look of this dress, it's very cool! I'm just wondering if the studs are going to be bothering the insides of my arms all day!

VerdictGwynnie Bee is so fun! It's become a regular part of my monthly wardrobe rotation, and I couldn't be happier! I wear almost everything they send (ideal or not), so I feel like I have a never-ending wardrobe. Plus it helps me to take some risks! I think it's also cut down on my spending as far as clothing goes, which is great because I tire of items quickly. I'm a big fan of Gwynnie Bee!

I wish there was a plus size box that had plain, classic clothing………………….not crazy prints that are so unflattering on me.

Too expensive for me. Is this one of those subscriptions that you have to send things back by a certain date or you get charged for them? Some items are OK, but nothing I can’t get a lot cheaper here at a local store (Gabriel Brothers) that carries name brand clothing at a huge discount. They have expanded and are in a few different states now. I know they are in PA, Ohio, and West Virginia. Check online to see .

You can actually keep the clothes as long as you want and when you’re finished with them you send them back. There’s not really a time limit. Plus, if you like something it’s usually a 50 percent markdown or more.

I subscribe to Gwynnie Bee and I love reading your reviews because your taste and mine are so different; I like the feedback on items I wouldn’t go for personally. My one complaint is that my priorities have been ignored lately and I’ve been getting early-fall stuff I didn’t hold since I prioritized so many new spring things. Oh well, my fault. Overall I like the service and have ended up buying several things even though this was supposed to keep me from putting more clothing in my literal closet (I work in retail so my closet is quite something) Oh well!

Helen

Some extremely desirable gear there!
I don’t wear my dresses shorter than calf length, tea dresses, if you like.
How do these dresses compare for length?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

It really depends on your height, Helen. I’m short so they are all mid-knee or longer. They have all different lengths though. Hope this helps!

Helen

I don’t know what you call short. I’m just over 5’6″ so medium height?
I suppose the only way to find out is to try the service.
Do you get to select what is sent?

Caligirl

Wow you got some great high end items. I love Johnny Was but my budget doesn’t. (Maybe too many subscription boxes.)Gonna have to check them out.

Gail

Wow, you got some beautiful pieces this month! Can you buy them from the website?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Hi Gail! You can buy them when you have them at home, and then you also get access to the GB shop where you can buy styles when they pull them out of rotation at a DEEP discount. Hope this helps!

Ragan

I really like a lot of the items you got this month, especially the first shirt and the paisley dress. I would totally buy some of them if they were available in non-plus sizes — they look like the sorts of things that would be flattering on lots of different body types.

Anna

Thanks Ragan, I think you’re right.
