GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription box. They have the best packaging in the business, their products are usually deluxe-size or full size, and the value is usually really good too. The only issue with this box seems to be the late shipping – I would recommend just keeping that in mind and setting your expectations accordingly if you sign up for this box.

GlossyBox sent us this box early for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: GLOSSYBOX

The Cost: $21 a month (save more with 6-month or annual subscription)

The Products: Deluxe and full-size beauty products.

glossybox-march-2016-melted

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua - .16 oz Value $8.40

YES! I love Too Faced Melted Lipstick, and this shade is PERFECT for me! It is a new shade from Too Faced, too. The color is super pigmented, the formula goes on smoothly, adds shine, and smells delicious! (Swatched below.)

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner - .04 oz Value $11.40

Not a super exciting item, but a useful one! I like the Eyeko brand, and this little liquid eyeliner is super easy to apply. (Swatched below.)

I LOVE this shade!

glossybox-march-2016-coconut

I Love...Cosmetics Super Soft Hand Lotion in Coconut & Cream - FULL SIZE! Value $6

(Scents will vary)

This is a lightweight hand lotion that absorbs quickly. I'm a big fan of all scents coconut and beachy, so this is a winner for me!

Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Large Angled Face Brush 504 - Value $16

This brush is made in the USA, vegan and cruelty-free. And I love not having to buy makeup brushes thanks to subscription boxes, so I'm happy with this in the box!

glossybox-march-2016-cream

Vine Vera Resveratrol Merlot Moisture Day Cream - .5 oz? Value $40?

These moisturizer samples aren't labeled, so I'm guesstimating that each one is .25 oz. It is described as a rich yet lightweight formula, and I'd say that's about right. I liked how my skin felt after applying it, too. It does have added fragrance, though. I prefer my skincare unscented, but this one, fortunately, isn't too strong.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $82. I think that's great for GlossyBox, and this is one of my favorite boxes in a while. The Too Faced lipstick is by far my favorite item in this box, but everything is useful, so I'm happy!

What do you think of the March 2016 GlossyBox? Anyone else obsessed with Too Faced Liquid Lipsticks?

You will receive the April box, last chance for receiving the March GlossyBox was March 31st.

I am happy with my box. Better than last month. I got a different variety. I received the same lipstick, brush and eyeliner. The variation was Marsk eyeshadow in You’re Toast and a Crabtree & Evelyn La Source hand lotion. I love C&E hand lotion, so I am happy to receive one and love the scent. I am not sure about Marsk shadow color, but I will give it a try or gift. My only concern is that this eye shadow and hand lotion are the exact repeat from Nov. 2015. I was not a subscriber back then, so these items are not repeats for me personally, but I wonder for others. I am especially excited about Melted lipstick as I never owned one before and the color is good one for me. I also love getting quality brushes and it even makes it better that this brand is cruelty-free! Very pretty brush!

I got the same box as you and, like you, I am a recent enough subscriber that the items that were different from Liz’s box weren’t repeats for me. GlossyBox seems great (amazingly great, really) at tracking what a person has already received and not sending out duplicate items is subsequent boxes. Anytime they seem to send something from a previous box it always seems to be from a box that was distributed a month or two before the person subscribed. I give them a lot of credit for their organization and record keeping. It seems like a very professionally run company.

I also love the diversity of their products and brands in every box. GloosyBox is responsible for introducing me to so many new brands, I love it. I could not be more pleased with this sub.

I have gotten two boxes each month with this being the last month only because of the overlap in the Gilt deal.

This was a good month. My first box for March was exactly the same as Liz’s except that I received a Raspberry Berry hand lotion which I love!

The second box I just received was different in that I received one EB5 Intense moisture Anti-Aging cream instead of the other cream in Liz’s post and the scent of the hand lotion is Mango and Papaya, which also smells great.

This was a great box. I was disappointed in some past ones, but I really loved this one. I gave the extra Eyeko eyeliner, brush, and TF melted lip stick to my sister.

Hey there Anne,

So glad to hear you are enjoying your GLOSSYBOX subscription! I’m sure your sister was happy about her goodies:) Looking forward to hearing about your GLOSSYBOX experience in the future.

I got the exact same box as you, and I love everything! So happy I got the anti aging cream instead of the vine vera! Great job Glossybox!

Reply ButtonReply

I am super pleased that most of us here received the same or a very similar box as Liz. Gabrielle, if this is your doing, thank you very much! I am sometimes very disappointed when there is a big variance between what is reviewed and what we receive. Great box! Keep up the good work Glossybox!

I got a different box. I too got the eyeliner, brush and Melted lippie, but I got a Marsk eyeshadow in You’re Toast and a Crabtree & Evelyn La Source hand lotion. I already have the Marsk eyeshadow and was really looking forward to the Vine Vera Day cream and I Love fruity hand lotions. Oh well, maybe in some future box, I’ll get those items.

Key

Hi Anna, I got the same box as you. Did you receive the Marsk eyeshadow from Glossybox back in November? If so, it is a repeat for you… Powder eye shadows usually have 3-year shelf-life, so at least it is a good news. I am a newer subscriber, so it was not a repeat for me, but I am happy that I didn’t receive the Vine Vera cream. It seems like it is over priced and controversial. I really hope they don’t send items from their past boxes in the future or at least be able to consider what you have received in the past and make no repeats…

Gabrielle

Hi,

Thank you for your kind words! . Your thoughts and opinions have not gone unnoticed and I will pass on your comments to my colleagues, so that you can continue to be excited about the arrival of your box.

Daphne

I LOVED this box. I got the TF lipstick and the Luxie brush, of course, as well as the liquid eyeliner, a Marsk mineral eyeshadow in a gorgeous toasted gold shade, and Crabtree and Evelyn hand lotion. Super thrilled with everything, particularly the lipstick, eyeliner, and lotion. I mostly just use liquid eyeliner, and the pen is absolutely perfect for me. I’m also a hand cream fanatic, keeping multiple kinds on my nightstand, in my purse and car, etc. Keep the eyeliners and lotions coming!

I don’t understand why people complain about Glossybox. Part of the fun is getting a variety of products and items from different brands that I wouldn’t think of purchasing outright, and I almost always love just about everything in my boxes. I can’t even think of a product I’ve received that I’ve ever truly disliked and couldn’t use at all. Maybe I’m just lucky, or not as picky as most people. I’ve been a long-time GB subscriber (since 2014, IIRC). A lot of my favorite products ever have come in my past boxes (MTJ mascara, OMG I love so much; other favorites include LA Splash eyeshadow base, Kevin Aucoin eyeshadow, Emite eyelash curler to name just a few). And I’ve always considered it well worth the money, and I don’t bother with discount codes or coupons. The special edition boxes are amazing as well, like the Bergdorf Goodman box many months ago. I look forward to future boxes as a loyal Glossybox subscriber.

Oh I can’t wait to get my box! I’m so excited about this months box. It’s the winner out of Ipsy,Boxycharm and birchbox. Glossy box always keeps me excited. I love melted lipstick and bonus for the eyeliner. Waiting patiently.

Gabrielle

Hey Bella,

If you love the Too Faced Melted lipstick, you’ll love the one you will receive in your March box. It goes on liquefied and dries down to a demi-matte finish!

I’ve noticed that in the past four months Glossybox has had very few variations. Guess maybe Gabrielle was really listening after all 🙂

LOVE this box! I’m in Arizona and this hand lotion is great. It’s the first lotion I’ve used in a while that have my hands feeling moisturized. The coconut scent is a bonus.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

I got the same box as Liz except for the lotion scent and I love it! I was looking for an angled brush, can never have enough lotion (it is always dry in AZ), was running out of face cream, had just used up my black liquid eyeliner, and the lipstick shade looks great with my skin tone.

Reply ButtonReply

Gabrielle

Hey there Lori,

Seems like this was the perfect box for you this month! Who can ever have enough face cream?! The Vine Vera cream sets the perfect moisture barrier between your skin and outdoor damage protecting your face. Plus, it hydrates (a must in the dry heat of Arizona)!

Best,
Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

I got my box today and it was exactly like Liz’s! Rarely happens, I was praying for the coconut cream hand lotion, the only thing I was looking forward too lol. I don’t use liquid eyeliner, the day cream I can live without and still can’t decide if I want to try the melted lipstick yet. The color isn’t something I really like.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

Ok I just tried it, I think I hate it on me, looks kind of muddy.

Reply ButtonReply

Monica

Are there any coupon codes available for this box? All the other codes I tried have already expired.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

I didn’t like the color at first so I tried just a dab like Gabrielle suggested and really like it now! It also looks great as blush, love it! 🙂

Molly

Got mine today, and other than having the blackberry/raspberry hand cream scent, was just like the review box. I really like it — the lipstick applies well and is a good subtle color, brush is a nice change for Glossybox, and though they seem to always include a moisturizer lately, it’s kind of nice, since it’s something I’d have to buy if they didn’t send it. Good, useful box, and nice mix of full-size less expensive products, and sample of something expensive. Not into getting black eyeliners all the time, though.

Gabrielle

Hey there Molly,

I want to wholeheartedly thank you for your blog post. We here at GLOSSYBOX appreciate that you took the time to review your March box. Liz, the moisturizer isn’t close to a $40 value. Each pot is much closer to .1 oz, more likely .085. It’s about a $13 value, not $40

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

I just got my Glossybox…I *LOVE* it! I received the melted lipstick, the eyeliner (my daughter shrieked in excitement and now it’s hers), the brush, the lotion in Raspberry/blackberry (works very well — long-lasting and not greasy) and a nice deluxe-sample-sized Onesta hydrating shampoo and conditioner. It says the shampoo doubles as a body wash and the conditioner works as a shaving cream. Both are going with me on my Spring Break excursion.

Glossybox is always my favorite. This one is a 100% win in my book.

Rebecca

I got your exact box. I would have preferred the coconut lotion instead of the blackberry-raspberry, which feels a little too Bath & Body Works in the 90s to me, but it’s not bad. The formula isn’t as good as other hand creams I have but still not bad stuff or anything. It’ll definitely get used. I was happy not to get the Vine Vera stuff.

Reply ButtonReply

Courtney

My thoughts exactly. Was NOT happy about Vine Vera, and the lotion is very heavily scented. I guess I will use it on my legs in the summer 🙂

Gabrielle

Hello Heather,

Wow, we are excited about the wonderful review you have done on this months GLOSSYBOX. I take your feedback seriously and I am excited to see your next review.

Vanessa

I’m so sick of getting black eyeliners in subscription boxes. Also, that vino cream does sound sketchy. The brush looks nice and I love the hand cream. I got the raspberry blackberry fragrance. I was most excited to try to melted lip product, but the color is much to brown for me. I love the applicator so I might give the color one more try before I toss it.

Reply ButtonReply

Alyce

Vanessa, I would have to say subs could hold off a couple months on nail polish. I have enough colors and brands to last for years!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

And dark red lipsticks or glosses, I’m sick of getting those!

Gabrielle

Hey there Vanessa,

The applicator will make the Too Faced Melt lip product more pigmented, which is why the color may be too rich for you. If you want a more subtle look, dab a bit of the lip product on your index finger and apply it to your lips. This will provide a softer look.

Best,
Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

Hoping to get these exact items! This is one of their better boxes in awhile!

Reply ButtonReply

Veronica

I dislike their Customer Service. They are not honest and very deceptive.

Reply ButtonReply

Alyce

It may have been beginner’s luck, but my first box had a cracked tube of lipstick. CS asked for a pic, and less than 6 hours later a replacement was in the mail. I was thrilled and impressed.

Paige

I purchased one of the past boxes that was discounted to $15 and an item arrived broken. Contacted their customer service and they were out of that item but sent a list of very nice substitute items for me to pick from. I had the new item within 7 days. So I considered my customer service experience from them to be very good! Especially since I’m not w regular subscriber and got the box on a discount.

Jen

Really hoping there isn’t much variation this month, aside for the Vine Vera product (there is some very informative posts below on this brand). I did get the Eyeko fat liner from birchbox a few months ago and I love it, so I wouldn’t mind trying another eyeliner from them. I think I am one of the few people who love getting black eyeliners, I wear them all the time so I love trying out new formulas through subscription boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Adeline

I don’t use make up so I will probably put the lipstick and eye liner for swap. I however love make up brushes. I polenate my strawberry blooms with them and swap the ones I don’t. Lol and brushes won’t expire.

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

Adeline,

What a surprising statement. Surprised that you would subscribe to a box like this if you don’t wear makeup. Is it for the skin care and lotions? I know the Gilt deal was hard to pass up but brushes aren’t sent that often. As a non makeup wearer I would be curious as to what you see as most valuable in a sub of this type.

Reply ButtonReply

Kelsey

Crossing my fingers for the brush and the lipstick! I also feel like Glossybox has gone down in value, even during the short five months I’ve been subscribed. However, I have a discounted subscription, so I’m planning on keeping it unless the value continues to fall.

Reply ButtonReply

Gabrielle

Hi Kelsey,

Great news! If you haven’t seen our GLOSSYGlimpse posts yet, I suggest you take a look. The Too Faced Melt lip stick and Luxie brush will be in everyone’s March box!

Best,
Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

nikki

UGHH, I love that luxie brush, I got mine in Ipsy over a year ago, and I used it daily so much that the brush popped off of the handle 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Gabrielle

Hey there Nikki,

Too keep your brushes fresh and give them a longer life, I suggest you clean them once a week. Just a quick rinse with a brush cleaner or shampoo will do the trick.

Gabrielle from GLOSSYBOX

I am actually supper excited about this box, and I haven’t been excited about glossybox for a while. I really hope that I will receive this version of the box.

Reply ButtonReply

nana

Yikes. Vine Vera is made by the same company behind OroGold and they’re huge scammers. Do a google search for “vino vera orogold” and you’ll see what I mean.

Other than that, I’m looking forward to the liquid lipstick product, I’m curious to try it. I’m sure my daughter will be happy with the brush and the hand cream, but I’ll swap the eyeliner.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

Wow. That sounds super sketchy.

Reply ButtonReply

Lynn

Thank you for the head’s up. I researched Vine Vera and Orogold and I see what you mean. Very questionable ingredients and sales practices. I don’t know if I will even try it. I am surprised that Glossybox would include something with such a bad reputation. I know you can’t believe everything you read online, but there are many very negative reviews out there.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

With all my sub boxes, I feel like I will eventually have a full set of the Luxie Rose Gold brushes. This will be my 3rd one! Fortunately, no repeats.

I hope I get one of the scent variants for the lotion. Not a fan of coconut.

Jen

Oh, I do love my Too Faced Melted lipsticks. LOVE that shade!

That is an awsome box !!!! Too Faced melted lip color is beautiful. I wear it almost every day.
They just came out with a ” brown collection ” Chihuahua is not part of the new collection , its one of the originals. The new line looks delicious.
