Starflight by Melissa Sanders - Retail Value $17.99 (On Amazon for $10.99)

Book Summary from Amazon:

Solara Brooks needs a fresh start, someplace where nobody cares about the engine grease beneath her fingernails or the felony tattoos across her knuckles. The outer realm may be lawless, but
it's not like the law has ever been on her side.
Still, off-world travel doesn't come cheap; Solara is left with no choice but to indenture herself in exchange for passage to the outer realm. She just wishes it could have been to anyone besides Doran Spaulding, the rich, pretty-boy quarterback who made her life miserable in school.
The tables suddenly turn when Doran is framed for conspiracy on Earth, and Solara cons him into playing the role of her servant on board the Banshee, a ship manned by an eccentric crew with their own secrets. Given the price on both Doran and Solara's heads, it may just be the safest place in the universe.
It's been a long time since Solara has believed in anyone, and Doran is the last person she expected to trust. But when the Banshee's dangerous enemies catch up with them, Solara and Doran must come together to protect the ship that has become their home-and the eccentric crew that feels like family.
I'm excited to read Starflight! Lisa describes it as a "slow burn" romance, and I'll take slow burn over insta-love any day!

And!!! The book is signed:

Anne of Green Gables Infinity Scarf - Value $20?

This item is an exclusive for Uppercase Box subscribers! What a unique and perfectly bookish item! Here it is in all its circle scarf glory:

I love the colors too - perfect for spring!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $36 counting the Amazon sale price of the book. But since the book is signed, I think the value would be higher for a lot of book lovers! I think this is one of my favorite Uppercase boxes yet - it is a perfect mix of exclusives and book extras!

Liz,
I think you might have gone a little low on that scarf. I have searched high and low on the Internet and it seems to be an Etsy piece… I haven’t seen it for less than $40!!!! Which is bummer because I really want one!! Anne of Green Gables is my favorite!!!! Lucy Maud Montgomery is my favorite author of all time and I have read EVERYTHING by her! I even remember when the Disney channel had the Avonlea series on!! AND The Anne of Green Gables series which I own on DVDs!!

This is my favorite uppercase box yet! I was in love as soon as I opened mine! I even identifed the scarf as AoGG before I read what it was supposed to be because I recognized the passage! The book was one I’ve been eyeing and the nail wraps are awesome! I think I’m going to wear them to the Engineer’s Week Black Tie Banquet (where my husband is one of the top honoree’s this year) later this month! Heels, Formal, Awesome nails, Check! I hope Uppercase keeps it up! I’ve dropped my other book subscription because I really don’t think that anyone else compares!

This was my first uppercase box and I’m super happy with it. I hadn’t heard of the book, but I love that it’s signed and I’m looking forward to reading it. (I read across multiple genres). But…it’s that scarf…the Anne of Green Gables scarf that is AWESOME. I live in ugly hot Phoenix AZ, so I’m not sure how much wear I will get out of it until later this year (we’re already hitting 80s here), but maybe I can plan some day trips to cooler areas about 2 hours out so I can rock my scarf.

I’ve never been a fan of the bookish goodies (hence why I love BOTM) but… I NEED this box. Omg it is absolutely amazing in every way. A book I’ve been eyeballing at work (I work at a bookstore), an amazing scarf, and the coolest nail wraps. I’m just amazed and want this box! Never have I been more jealous of you Liz than right now.

“Anne of Green Gables” is my favorite book, and I totally squeed when I saw the scarf, but all the typos make me crazy!

Nikki

What typos?

Laurie

If you read what’s printed on the scarf, there’s a ton of misspellings and typos. 🙁 (Then again, I’ve worked as an editor, so I tend to hone right in on things like that, and they probably make me crazier than the average person….)

Despite that, however, it’s lovely and I will enjoy wearing it.

Randi

Awesome scarf! I used to love Anne of Green Gables when I was younger – I read a couple of the books and then my grandma and I watched the movies together 🙂
