FanMail put together limited edition Holiday Boxes based on single fandoms – one of the areas they focused on was The Walking Dead. They had a $50 and $75 option, both of which are now sold out.
This is a review of the $50 box.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Box: FanMail Favorites – The Walking Dead Limited Edition Holiday Box
The Cost: $50 + shipping (shipping varies based on location – $6.04 to Pittsburgh, PA)
The Products: “a previously released Funko exclusive, a wonderful McFarlane figure, a mini poster, three great Daryl items and much more! Nearly $100 worth of TWD collectible for $50 plus shipping."
Good to Know: This box is now sold out!
Riot Gear Glenn Rhee Hot Topic Exclusive Variant POP - Value $18
Since the value on Amazon is high right now, I did some extra investigation to get the true value using the POP Price Guide! This exclusive Riot Gear variant of Glenn was only available to buy through Hot Topic. I actually bought this on Amazon earlier this year, so this is a double, but I love that they sent a higher price variant!
Here he is in all of his prison riot gear glory!
Daryl Dixon Pocket POP – Value $12.99 on Amazon
I recently received this in the October 1UP Box, so both of the POPs were duplicates for me. Frowny face. I love this pocket POPs, they're easy to gift and everyone that I've given one to has loved them.
Here's a closer look. The keychain is removable so that you can use it as a free-standing mini POP.
Mud Walker McFarland Toy - Value $11.93
They include a figure from the series 7 line of Todd McFarland's Walking Dead toy line. Series 7 looks like it focuses on the group around the time of Terminus. I would have loved to get a character instead of a zombie (I don't know if everyone got the same figure), but the zombie is cool and on display as I'm writing this. The zombie also splits in half so you can change how it's displayed.
As with all McFarland toys/statues, the attention to detail is great.
Daryl Dixon Stocking - Value $20.99 on Amazon
It's poncho Daryl Dixon! Who doesn't want Poncho'd Daryl representing during the holidays?
The Walking Dead Dog Tags - Value $3.99
Daryl shows up yet again, this time in dog tag form. They have versions of these dog tags that include authentic costume pieces. I know that because a friend just gave me one about two weeks ago. It has a spot that has a piece of material worn by a Cabin Walker in season 3. While I'm not into dog tags, I did think that part was cool!
The Walking Dead Pins - Value $5?
They include a set of 6 pins. I'm not really sure where this is from, but they do have getglue.com on the button - so I'm curious if this is tied into GetGlue's sticker system?
Terminus Poster - Value $15 on Society6
This is a glossy 8x10 print of the classic map to Terminus!
The Walking Dead postcard - Value $1-2?
Also included is a postcard, which actually looks like a photo taken on-set during filming.
Greeting From Alexandria Keychain - Value $2-3?
And the final item is a Greetings From Alexandria keychain.
Verdict: FanMail definitely delivered what they promised when buying the box - I have the value around $93, which is perfectly in line with the expectations they set. The big ticket items in this box were awesome! Had I not owned 2 of them already, I'd be over the moon - so I think this is a great box. There's a lot here to gift too, so I'm happy about that as well. Now, if only they would do a comic-based edition of this box...I can dream can't I?
