Each box comes with a card detailing the items included. The theme this month is Nightmare.

The Apokelypse T-shirt – Value $10?

This month’s t-shirt is a mashup of Pokemon and Super Mario Bros. Anyone who has played Mario has hated those darn ghosts that follow you when you have your back to them (more of these to come later in the review!) – and this shirt plays on that, with Pokemon taking the role of the ghosts.

Boo Mask – Value $5-10?

I couldn’t find this exact one online, but I love it! Here’s the traditional ghost from Mario! A perfect fit to have a Mario ghost sleep mask in a Nightmare box!

Jack Skellington Pocket POP – Value $7.99 on Amazon

Daryl Dixon Pocket POP – Value $12.99 on Amazon

I love both of these! I love all things Funko POP, including these little guys. The best thing about these Pocket POPs are that you can unscrew the keychain from the top of the head and use it as a mini POP instead of a keychain.

Nightmare Poster – Value ?

This is marked a bonus item on the card. It’s really just paying homage to all things in the box – it’s a nice inclusion as a bonus.

Pop Rocks – Value $1

1UP usually tosses in a small candy item. This month is Pop Rocks.

Paracord Bracelet – Value $7.99

This is the second paracord bracelet I’ve received in a geek box. I think it was smart how they incorporated it with the theme, since it’s a glow in the dark bracelet, it’s there to help guide you through the dark!

Verdict: This was my favorite box ever from 1UP Box! Typically, I see this box geared more towards younger geeks, but this month worked well for me too – so that’s huge for me! Not only that, I thought they did extremely well with this month’s theme.

What did you think of October’s 1UP Box?

  1. I loved this one too! The shirt is a bit dark but fits well, and all the other items are top quality! Also, already know my November box is going ot include a Star Wars item!… I’m very happy with this company.

  2. This was a fun box. The Funko pops were awesome and I think the sleep mask and bracelet were nice additions. I think they did a good job with the theme.

  3. I’ve been reading the reviews and never thought it looked as good as other subs, but when I saw that the theme was Nightmare I got it and then canceled after they shipped the October box. I love everything in it and I’m very happy with my choice, but I’m going to stick to Loot Crate, Geek Fuel, and Nerd Block for regular subs.

  4. I order this box for my 7yr old and he didn’t like it this month. I guess you’re right about this box catering more to adult subscribers.

  5. I really like this box, too!

    • Thanks, Eric, for the tip about unscrewing the keychains. I didn’t know they were made to do that so now I like this even better!
