Does anyone know if these are coming back? I keep hoping they will restock with a much bigger variety of options.

Well I wasn’t going to get one, but at the last minute I checked and they had restocked with new items! I ended up get Cynthia Rowley 3pk lip stain, Dr. Jart pores no more primer, Caldrea 3 pc set that includes body wash, body oil and body lotion in tea olive lime, mcmc Phoenix fragrance oil, Make hand woven zippered pouch, and I.c.o.n. India hair oil!! Im ecstatic, the total of everything came out to just under $200 and with points and 20% off I snagged it for $26 plus got my 2 free samples. Doesn’t get better than that! 😉

I don’t know what happened with this… I was rewarded $30 in points because they said the perfume I wanted was sold out, but I ordered it all within the first hour it was available so I don’t see how that could of happened. And It shipped the same day, way before I was given the points/notice… Also I see a lot of the products are all still in stock yet they say the whole thing “build your own birchbox” is sold out… I’m wondering if they messed up with the idea somehow…

I am beyond happy that i got this box! I love birchbox and their customer service they’ve always been so nice. I got my box yesterday everything was perfect except my perfume was missing so i contacted them and since the juicy couture perfume i had chosen was sold out they are sending me the full size of the perfume! i love my the eyeliners and the pouch, the face toner has a beautiful look to it. The hair mask smells amazing. My shower gel is a great size! And the candle is adorable. Now i cant wait to recieve my perfume in the mail.

I got my box of goodies. And WOW! So worth the $35! The toner is 7 ozs. The hair mask is awesome. The perfume is gorgeous. The candle smells great. I’ll use the eye pencils. And the Hello shower gel is one of my favorite scents. Crazy good deal. Plus I got the mystery pack!

Those damn Stila lipsticks! I have 3 of the hot pink between the box and mystery packs. I don’t even know why I have kept them because it’s a color I’d never wear!

I think this could’ve been so awesome, but I agree with what others have said in that it seems tof be more geared toward new subscribers. I also don’t like how you have to pick one thing from each category. The Beauty Protector mask and the Parlor spray are so great…I love all Juicy fragrances….but some categories are such a miss. It’s too bad because it is a super great deal.

I think it’s a nice value if you can use some and gift the rest, but because you are forced to select a perfume, they do not ship to Hawaii! (Or Alaska) I wrote asking if I could skip the perfume and pick something else but they do not allow modifications at all. So Birchbox just lost every AK and HI customer for shipping reasons!

I guess this is targeted towards new subscribers? Seems like it with the stock they have listed. Almost all of the fragrances say SOLD OUT. I wonder how this will evolve as they replace products. It might be something fun to keep an eye on and pull the trigger when the time (and product combination) is right.

Add me to the list of people who had planned on giving BB all of my money today.
I got to the first category and thought “I’ll come back to this when I am done with the rest”, and then had that thought repeatedly until I was at the end and hadnt added a single thing.
Oh well. Maybe they will read our comments and decide to add more choices?

Max

LOL I did the exact same thing. And I really wanted to buy! Come on, Birchbox, where’s the love?

Reply ButtonReply

Vanessa

Disappointed with the choices. I thought there would be more to choose from. It could be a great deal, but not with these leftover overstock items.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

Wow pretty awful selection, nothing there is anything I like or use. Super disappointing!

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Pretty lame IMO. Even for a regular sample size BYOB, I think I would pass. The lifestyle items are a joke, and based on their makeup selection, this seems like just another way to clear out their endless stock of Marcelle liners and stila lipsticks.

BUT it could still be a great Christmas gift for someone who isn’t already a BB subscriber.

Oh Birchbox, I feel like your not even trying in our relationship anymore!
haha
Agree with most sentiments that this is a good deal if you like 1-2 of the products featured but for those of us who have been BB subbers for awhile these products (except for the Naobay) feel like overstock they are trying to move.

I put together a nice enough box. Not sure I’d do it again, though. My problem is that the mystery sample didn’t work, so before I pulled the trigger I sent an e-mail to CS. I’ll see what they have to say.

Tamara

There is exactly one item in there that I like. At all.

Bummer.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

Sounds like I’m just about the only one, but I got a kick out of this! I had $20 in points and found an item in every category I’m excited about (Air Repair is AMAZING) so I’m quite pleased!

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

haha same. i love beauty protector and air repair… chose the naobay lotion, a roller ball, the socks and the nail polish, took 20% off and used 10 bucks of points so i got everything for like $34, i think that’s a steal!

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

plus my mystery pack but i’m going to bet that i get yet another marcelle liner lol

Brooke

Ha. Pass. Just as lame as that pilot program of adding two full sized samples to your monthly box.

Completely agree that “value” may be there if you go by list prices, but that value may not be there if they weren’t items you would have bought anyway.

However I can definitely see that if someone is new to beauty subs and perhaps not yet over-run by samples, this could be good.

The dollar value is there but the practical value is not. I would be happier with a greater variety of interesting options that had lower retail values in the $10-$12 range but were interesting and useful unlike perfume and cosmetics that they’ve already sent us in numerous boxes and sample packs. I put one together but felt like I was having to try too hard to pick the least terrible one in some categories and found by the end I wasn’t actually excited about it and decided against it. It might be a good gift for someone who is new to Birchbox, or someone who actually loves some of the repeat products, but I think it falls short for the veterans.

I purchased! Selections are below. I used 200 points to get 20$ off, a 20% coupon, and added a mystery sample pack. Free shipping. Total was 24$. Overall I am very pleased, sorry to hear others weren’t!

I put together the exact same box except i did the juicy perfume instead! 🙂

Rebecca

The only thing that intrigued me in the choices was the Calypso St. Barth perfume. I bought their perfume, Figue, after getting a sample, and I love it! However it’s still not worth the other “meh” choices to me just to try another CSB perfume. I’m also done with Christmas shopping after the 30% off sale, so I really can only buy for myself. I’m glad you were able to build a box that made you happy and was a deal!

Jayne

Phew…glad I could pass on this one. Nothing interests me.

P.S. Are those Emi Jay hair ties that much better than the ones I can get at Target (or even the $1 store)? They seem expensive for what they are.

Reply ButtonReply

Tamara

I really like the hair ties, but not enough to actually pay that much for them.

Khaleesi142

Loved the idea of the box, but ‘hated’ the choices or forced to pick from each category but an actual savings because I didn’t get it. It would’ve been different if I had points…hope they do this again, but put good stuff instead 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Angela

Like everyone else, I’m totally underwhelmed by the makeup options in particular, but I have actually been wanting the hair mask, and the Juicy rollerball sounds like one I’d like. Just those two together would be $48, so this theoretically should be worth it for me…but I’m still on the fence somehow.

Reply ButtonReply

Charell

I was going to grab one of these, but its like BB somehow knew what some of my least favorite items have been in past boxes and only provided those as options. I hope some people see things they’d like!

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

Wow, what a disappointment! I hopped right over there today and was dismayed to find I had so few choices AND I would be forced to choose one from each category rather than the actual products I would like to choose.

Birchbox, you saved me money today!

Our household of women/teens spent a lot like you ladies during the holiday sale extravaganza and I am super relieved this is not appealing at all and will not be spending anymore. I was literally trying to force myself to pick something from each category and convince myself “but, it’s worth it, right?” NO. Agree with so many of you this is a huge fail. I am tired of BB trying to pass of their in house brands as such a great deal with these boxes and mystery packs.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

Same here. Super underwhelmed by the choices, though at first it seemed like it might be a good deal. I couldn’t pick anything I liked in multiple categories, so what’s the point? I bought what I wanted with the 30% off, used points, and got points. I am plenty satisfied with that!
