Square Hue Polish in Y2K

Square Hue Polish in Vogue 1990

These shades are both high gloss shimmers. I like both of these shades for fall, and the '90s names are fun too!

Square Hue Polish in Desert Storm 1991

Just when you think you've seen every nail polish name, you get one named Desert Storm! I absolutely love this neutral high gloss creme too. I think it's my new go-to polish.

Here are all the shades swatched:

Verdict: I think these shades are great selections for fall and they fit with the '90s theme too! And in general, I've been very impressed with the Square Hue polish formula.

What do you think of the October 2015 Square Hue box?

I LOVE there selection of colors each month! I believe 1991 was the year that dessert storm ended. They follow a “Decade” theme. I looked on their website to find what the meaning on each name was, but I stumbled on something else. They support Anti-Human Trafficking groups. Thats pretty awesome.

Am I the only one who thinks naming a nail polish after a military operation is in poor taste? I mean, you wouldn’t name a brown shade “The Somme,” or a grey shade “Gettysburg.” Just sayin’.

Actually, ignore what I just said. I didn’t see the “1991” in the name. And needless to say, I completely agree with your OP now.

Thank you. I get your point about the two words being fairly innocuous. But with the year and being a ’90’s box, it touched a nerve.

I can see that. On the other hand, I think it comes down to who sees what when they hear/read “desert storm.”
For example, when I first read the name I thought of Lil’ Kim’s verse from “Quiet Storm” (remix) lol. Then my second thought was of a sand storm because of the color.
