Nerd Block Junior Girls Subscription Box Review September 2015 - electrokidz

Elektrokidz - Value $5

OMG it is totally time for the return of the troll doll! These little guys also have an extra special twist: their hair dances to the beat! I know this is in the girl box, but I think my sons are going to love this little guy!

Nerd Block Junior Girls Subscription Box Review September 2015 - mike

Ty Beanie Ballz (Mike from Monster University) - Value $8.31

This is another good, gender neutral toy that I think my little one will like. He is still a sucker for plush, especially when it's a monster! I'm also glad to see that Ty is still kicking with their beanie stuff.

Nerd Block Junior Girls Subscription Box Review September 2015 - book

The Squickerwonkers by Evangeline Lilly - Value $7?

This is only listed on Amazon as either hardcover or audible, but the copy we received is paperback, so I'm guessing at the value. I wonder if they only released it in paperback in Canada (home of Nerd Block)? Anyway, it looks like a great book, plus it got 4.5 stars on Amazon, PLUS - and here's the exciting part for me - it was written by Evangeline Lilly, who played Kate on one of my all-time favorite television series, Lost! How cool is that?

Nerd Block Junior Girls Subscription Box Review September 2015 - doll-stickers

Funko Pocket POP: Disney's Frozen Action Figure (Elsa) - Value $3.59

My Little Pony Stickers - Value $1?

My good friend's daughter is just MENTAL for Frozen, and I think she will love this little Pocket POP! It's super cute. As for the stickers, kids love them, always. They are always a great addition!

The Verdict: This month's Nerd Block Junior for girls has a value of about $25 (compared to the $20 cost of the box + shipping). I'm happy with that, but I feel like this is one of their lower value boxes. Otherwise, I think this is a super box that any little nerd girl would be ecstatic to receive!

What do you think of Nerd Block Jr. for Girls?

I subscribed to Nerd Block Jr. girls for my daugther who is 6 year old. Octobers box was the second box she has received not including the welcome box. So far my daughter has been less than impressed with the 3 boxes, (Welcome, September, October.)

So glad I checked out this review first! Their website shows things from Barbie, Monsters High, Hello Kitty, etc. I wouldn’t like any stuff in this box! Also, somewhat disconcertingly, the website claims the JR Girls block has a $40 value. Even if that’s Canadian Dollars, that should still be $30 USD (according to XE Currency converter just now). Hmm, including the comment above which mentions poor customer service, I’m glad I did some research first!

I ordered a NBJ for my little girl as a birthday gift because she’s been begging for one of those Elektrokidz for months. I got the box 2 days before her birthday and was so excited to see which variant she got. When I opened the box there was no troll inside (or MLP stickers). Just a book, Elsa mini pop, monsters inc plush and some hello kitty bandaids. So I sent an email to nerd block and asked them to send a replacement since the troll was the whole reason I ordered the box. I was told that some of the trolls got damaged during production but that I should have received some adventuretime item instead. Well I didn’t get that either. Basically I was told that I was out of luck but they hoped my daughter liked everything else in her box. After I persisted the offered me a $3.50 credit. Jee…thanks.
-_-

I feel like if the big item they said would be in all boxes is not going to be, they should send out an email and give customers the option to skip that month. And I could have just used the money I spent on her block and bought her the troll she wanted. I mean what am I supposed to get her with a $3.50 refund, some stuff from the dollar store? I’m so disappointed with the whole situation. I don’t think I’ll be ordering from Nerd Block anymore.

Wow, that’s terrible service and so disappointing!:( Were you able to buy her one of the trolls from Amazon or somewhere?

Candace

Sadly, no. I spent all the money I had set aside for her birthday gifts. So I guess I’ll just have to try and find one in time for Christmas. 🙁

My daughter received a gold Electrokidz and the Sulley plush. She loves this month’s box and her free Welcome Block was fun too!

My daughter would LOVE this box, BUT I can’t get over the fact that the box is such a low value. Wish the value would reach the cost plus shipping at least. I could buy more plus free shipping on Amazon. ):
