Cage of Deceit by Jennifer Anne Davis - Value $12.95 (On Amazon for $11.30)

Book Summary from Amazon:

Seventeen-year-old Allyssa appears to be the ideal princess of Emperion--she's beautiful, elegant, and refined. She spends her days locked in a suffocating cage, otherwise known as the royal court. But at night, Allyssa uses her secret persona--that of a vigilante--to hunt down criminals and help her people firsthand.

Unfortunately, her nightly escapades will have to wait because the citizens of Emperion may need saving from something much bigger than common criminals. War is encroaching on their country and in order to protect her people, Allyssa may have to sacrifice her heart. Forced to entertain an alliance through marriage with a handsome prince from a neighboring kingdom, she finds herself feeling even more stifled than before. To make matters worse, the prince has stuck his nosy squire, Jarvik, to watch her every move.

Jarvik is infuriating, bossy and unfortunately, the only person she can turn to when she unveils a heinous plot. Together, the unlikely pair will have to work together to stop an enemy that everyone thought was long gone, one with the power to destroy her family and the people of Emperion. Now the cage Allyssa so longed to break free from might just be the one thing she has to fight to keep intact. In order to save her kingdom, she will have to sacrifice her freedom, her heart, and maybe even her life.

This book gets great reviews on Amazon and Good Reads - I'm excited to read it. (One thing to keep in mind, though - this is book one in a series that was just released, so I'm guessing that means it ends with some loose ends, and we'll have to wait a while to finish the series).

The Only Ones Free Audio Book from ListenUp - Value $14.99

In addition to the free audio book, this card also includes a coupon for 50% off any audiobook from ListenUp.

The Bleeding Heart Trilogy Signed Bookmark - Value ?

Lit-Cube has been great for discovering less mainstream series for me. And I just found that this entire series is on Oyster, so I'm going to try it out!

litcube-september-2015-tee

Game of Thrones Star Wars Mash Up Tee - Value $17

I believe this shirt was made exclusively for the box. It's 100% Heavy Cotton.

litcube-september-2015-tea

Adagio Teas Fandom Blends Tea Tin - Value $4

This tea smells so good! And they make a ton of different Fandom blends - I even noticed a Parks and Rec collection!

Queen of Always Royal Nail Art - Value $2?

This is a fun addition to the box. (Not listed on the info card, so I'm considering it a bonus item). It is a promo tie-in with the book Queen of Always by Sherry Ficklin.

litcube-september-2015-mug

Books are the Most Constant of Friends Mini Mug - Retail Value $8

This mug holds 4 ounces and is pretty tiny. This photo of me holding it should give you a better sense of scale:

This might work better as a pen holder than an actual mug for me!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $58. I think that's great for a $30 book box, and I'm so impressed with how well LitCube puts together themed boxes each month. Every piece in this box feels deliberate and thoughtful!

What do you think of the September 2015 LitCube box?

I WANT THAT SHIRT!!!! 🙁 Been having a lot of sub remorse now I finally found one I’m sorry I missed… time to troll the swap site. If anyone has small or medium women’s shirt they don’t want, let me know. It screams my sister. I would love to be able to gift it to her 😀

I signed up for this box just because of their Supernatural box next month. I’m so glad I signed up early and will be getting September’s box as well! I think this is going to be my new favorite box. The tea and the nail art are the coolest tie-ins! I also really appreciated an email telling me my September box was going to be late.
